@Belles22 sorry no experience here but I hope everything is ok and you are ok.

VictoriaBlossom · 03/03/2023 16:09

@NSx google "the oodie" they're a 6xl fleece hoody but kinda like the "designer" brand of the fleecy warm hoodies.

I'm currently listing all of my size 8 clothes and suits on fb, makes me sad that I used to be that thin

Belles22 · 03/03/2023 16:11

@NSx I'm 9+3 according to lmp but she dated me today at 10 weeks. Was definitely a shock, I was expecting twins as in runs in the family and I feel much bigger this time but I just wasn't expecting that. We had our hearts set on screening and finding out gender as a bonus but I guess that won't be happening. In good news the other baby was there flickering away and we heard heartbeat 💓

ukMummyof1 · 03/03/2023 16:27

@VictoriaBlossom how much are you selling them for?? I've not had my dye stealer yet (although, I haven't actually tested because I can't justify paying over £10 and not have a stealer)😂😂😂

THISISIT23 · 03/03/2023 16:50

@NSx currently 6 weeks and two days, good luck with your scan sorry for your loss xx

katherine123x · 03/03/2023 16:50

Hi ladies. I've made nearly £700 on Vinted the last few weeks having a massive clear out! Would really recommend it. Really easy to use!!!

Alexandra07 · 03/03/2023 16:55

@Belles22 I don't have experience of this, but I was reading that some nipt tests can be done if there is a vanishing twin, which I imagine may be the case. It must have been a shock for you. What is the next step? Do you need to go to epu?

NSx · 03/03/2023 17:00

@VictoriaBlossom i still fit in my size 8 clothes however my work trousers feel tight at the stomach after lunch 😂😂😂😂😂 I will probably have to sell all mine too cos realistically there will be no going back 😂😂😂.

@Belles22 that’s a shame, and totally a surprise/shock: I hope you are ok! On the plus side your wee bean’s heartbeat flickering away must have been a lovely sight to see.
I take it you can’t have any more blood tests because of the twin? As they aren’t accurate or something? thats annoying but you will be able to find out gender at a scan later on surely?
@THISISIT23 yes so im about 2 days behind you 😃😅😂 , there was a heartbeat already? how exciting!
Thank you; it was horrendous but I’m praying this baby sticks and is healthy x

THISISIT23 · 03/03/2023 17:03

@NSx fingers crossed for you! Keep thinking positive ❤️ Yep couldn’t see much on the scan due to the size but she zoomed in and we could see it’s little heart beat flickering on the monitor was amazing to see xxx

Midnight00 · 03/03/2023 17:12

Is anyone having really bad skin? My checks and chin are so spotty and have been since 5wks! Pharmacist says there's nothing save to use so I'm only using witch hazel which doesn't seem to do anything.... Any wisdom please share ladies 🙏

NSx · 03/03/2023 17:25

@Midnight00 having the same issue, doctor prescribed me Zineryt I’m only on day 5 so can’t say if it’s helping, but it’s something atleast 🤞🤍

@THISISIT23 thats amazing 🤍💜 I will try to remain positive 🤞 ✨✨✨

ukMummyof1 · 03/03/2023 17:49

When exactly did everyone get their '3+' of a CBD? I've got 2 waiting but don't want to use them too early- I'm 5+4 today xx

NSx · 03/03/2023 17:55

@ukMummyof1 I was roughly 5+1 give or take
I think you would be fine resting now xx

Hopefulx · 03/03/2023 18:03

@PrimarilyParented thank you!

Not long been back from our scan and everything is good and healthy! We also got to see and hear the little heartbeat. They said I’m 7w+1 which ties up with what I thought. Feel reassured as I have been worrying so much these last few days.

is anyone else’s scans coming up soon 🫶🏼

@Hopefulx amazing! Such a great feeling, hopefully you can now relax for some time

Koalawhala · 03/03/2023 18:41

Great news @Hopefulx! Glad you had a happy and clear scan. I have mine a week today when I should be 7+1 too!

cupoftea16 · 03/03/2023 18:49

Hello! Long time lurker here- 7 weeks tomorrow and have private early scan on Monday. It has been so lovely to follow along this group and has definitely made me feel less lonely in the early weeks. A bit random, but I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about handling soil in pregnancy, as I read somewhere there’s a chance of it containing toxins that are harmful during pregnancy. I am an early years teacher and our current project is all about life cycles/minibeasts with lots of trips to Forest School- looking in mud for minibeasts and planting lots of seeds in the garden area etc. I haven’t told people at work, and not sure how I’d explain a sudden aversion to touching soil! But not sure if I’m totally overreacting and it’s absolutely fine to handle- first time pregnant so overthinking everything!

Alexandra07 · 03/03/2023 18:52

@cupoftea16 have a look at this article www.gardeningknowhow.com/special/accessible/gardening-while-pregnant.htm
It's not safe to handle soil, but if you wear gloves, long sleeves, don't touch your face, wash hands, you should be fine according to the article.

cupoftea16 · 03/03/2023 18:58

That’s so helpful thank you @Alexandra07!
So many things to think about!

TeeDees · 03/03/2023 18:59

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had experience with this?

I’m 5+6 today. At exactly 5 weeks, I had spotting/bleed that lasted the whole day, then stopped completely since then. There were also clots. I tested that morning and it was a good dye stealer with FRER.

I’ve now taken 3 tests today at 5+6 and all look pretty much the same even with urine diluted with water on the last 2. They’re not dye stealers.
I diluted with water to test the hook effect.

Top test- no dilution
middle test- diluted with about 50% water
bottom test- very diluted. Had only about 10% urine in it.

What are your thoughts?

Test 2 and 3 are from the same urine. Test 1 was from urine about 20mins earlier.

My first scan is about 10 days away.

Thank you.

@katherine123x that’s amazing well done! What sort of things did you sell? I always used eBay but it’s just a pain these days.

@Midnight00 Sunday Riley good genes Glycolic acid has been really good for me. It’s pricey but a game changer, it’s listed as sage to use during pregnancy.

My boss and I run a small financial firm with ~10 more employees. The industry we trade in is having a meltdown, I did a big round of layoffs recently and overall the business feels pretty tenuous and we are worried about staff morale/retention after a long period of existential uncertainty. We are both pregnant, due 3 weeks apart and none of the staff know because we are trying to stabilise the business before telling everyone that we'll be put at the same time.
Today she very accidentally posted instructions on how to contact the antinatal unit on a group slack channel that all my team members are in. 🤣😑😅 I don't think anyone saw it as I asked her to delete it straight away and my team is mostly out today/not working that late, but I am still having heart palpitations about it! I am so glad it was her mistake, not mine, but I am thinking we may not keep this all secret for very long.

Alexandra07 · 03/03/2023 19:14

@TeeDees I don't think you can draw any conclusions from these tests. I had two miscarriages in the past and bleeding lasted 1 week (like my normal period) or more, not just 1 day. Spotting and bleeding is apparently experienced by a lot of women that end up having healthy babies. I would probably take another test in 2-3 days to see it's strength. If the line gets weaker even in diluted urine maybe you can contact your GP. Maybe you can use cheapies, easier to see if the line gets stronger/weaker and harder to get a dye stealer. But without any other symptoms, you are probably still fine! Try no to worry, you can't really do anything to control the outcome.

I had some pink spotting on the paper today, and now i think the worst is coming.

Hi ladies. I went for NIPT test this morning. The scanned me first and wouldn't continue with blood test as they found another sac beside the baby. She said most likely twin that never developed. Has anyone ever experienced this before?

Ok, so I have not had this happen but I have had a baby with foetal abnormalities (Edwards, which is fatal) so I know more than I would like about testing. I think that this is sometimes called "vanishing twin". Their worry is that when they take blood from you, you might have blood both from the baby that grew and the baby that didn't, and so they won't know which baby the results are attributable to. They therefore don't want to give you results they already unsure if the accuracy of. I would not take it as indicative of an actual problem with your baby, just a potential problem with how their test would work in your situation. If you want to read more about it or find people in a similar situation, head over to the Mumsnet antinatal testing results board and I am sure there are others who are more knowledgeable about it than me. But again, I would not take it as a bad sign.
