Well my induction didn’t go as planned yesterday!

Came in for the induction at 2pm but ended up going into natural labour. However, every time I was having a contraction, baby’s heart rate was dipping significantly so I ended up having a c-section! The drama doesn’t end there…. Baby pooed in me and swallowed some so he had a bit of trouble breathing when he was delivered and was taken to neonatal care to give him a bit of help.

I'm 40+5, no sign of labour so I'm planning to spend today and tomorrow resting and relaxing so I go in my Thursday induction as fresh as a pregnant woman can be 😂

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark hope things go smoothly for you and you don’t end up with more drama exposure! How they can let somebody there whose causing disruption to other patients and insulting the one he’s accompanying is beyond me (even if she was doing the same) whether he had any reason for calling her derogatory names or not what if it could be a DV situation and nothing done about it 🙈

@Clarps84 Congratulations! sorry to hear that it didn’t go quite to plan, poor baby boy I hope he is okay and ready to be with you soon if not already 💙

@havananana sounds like the best plan to me! Take some books or download films etc to watch in case you're kept hanging around!

Congratulations to everyone with babies! Hope you're all recovering well. Feeling huge now, 38+5 so know I still have a way to go. I have a wisdom tooth that is hurting too just to top off feeling like crap at the moment. Thought things where starting earlier, was in Aldi carpark with DP and DS and have had pain in back all morning then it suddenly seemed to peak and then die off again. Thought it was maybe a contraction as had to rock/breath through it but nothing since 😑 also not happy that I didn't get measured at my midwife appointment yesterday. Sorry, just feeling a bit moany today!

@NM1819 im with you on the feeling moany! I was already a bit stroppy and tired, but now my phone has completely died on me so I now can only contact my boyfriend on FB and have no way of contacting hospital or emergency services if needed unless I find a neighbour and I am stressing out big time, crying my eyes out ever since and can’t face trying to choose a new phone right now I just can’t focus! Very very done is all I can say!!

I hope you feel a bit better about things soon and fingers crossed you may not be waiting too long xx

Thanks for your well wishes everyone 😊 we’ve named him Roman Phillips, he weighs 8lbs 11ozs and is doing great! They think he’ll be with me on the ward sometime this evening which I can’t wait for 💙🥰

Had a small blood cloth in discharge this morning, so was told to come in for an assessment. Got sent back home as it's likely start of the show, but I've had 0 discharge since this morning. 🤔

At least got to listen in on baby, who seemed happy in my tummy, and has since kneed me in my side a few times 🫠

I got SO excited when I thought this is it! I even had a bit of crampy feeling, loose stools, etc, so was a bit let down when there was nothing after.

At least I know exactly where to go for induction on Thursday.

@havananana ah maybe more will happen later! 🤞good to know where you’ll be going for induction if nothing before though! xx

Good tip about downloading movies, no idea why I didnt think of that before. I'm still working up until day of induction (from home) and am frantically bouncing on the ball. Also revisiting my hospital outfit choices.

The wards are so hot I've decided I am not taking any dressing gowns or fluffy slippers, only PJs and sliders.

I think someone asked if partners can come to the induction - I was told my husband can come. Not sure if he would be sent home at 20:00 or if the induction happened after 20:00 he would be allowed - always something I forget to ask!

@havananana it was me :) I managed to download the patient leaflet from my NHS trust and it says partners are not allowed to join until I am in active labor. I guess they can visit during normal visiting hours, but can't stay.

How interesting! It was a midwife on the ward that would induce me that told us he can come. Must depend on the area/hospital

Had a 2h nap and my bloody show has started! Woop 🙌

And a bit of a dull ache at the bottom of my belly like period pains

@AK93 glad to hear I'm not alone! Doesn't anyone have a phone you can borrow in the meantime? Even if its just an older one to make calls on? Getting increasingly more grumpy as the day goes on. Going to go out for lunch tomorrow so hopefully that'll cheer my miserable arse up! 😂 Intend on spending some money on some nice bath things in body shop too. I was going to get some clary sage oil but understand its no longer recommended and with DS I drank 2 large cups of rlt for the first time and went into labour a few hours later but he was distressed. Upon further research it can apparently cause distress if you haven't built up a tolerance so to speak so won't be doing that either! 😩

After an absolute whirlwind of a delivery experience, Henry arrived this morning at 5.05am weighing 6lb 1. We couldn’t be more in love 🥰
