40+4, still waiting with no signs 🥴

Blocklynn · 13/03/2023 08:58

Good luck to everyone waiting for inductions, sections and things to happen!

dmb91 · 13/03/2023 09:13

I've been having tightenings since early hours of yesterday morning, I assumed braxton hicks but they've not really stopped at any point. I've now decided it's baby being super active and doing lots of stretching. Is it ok if baby is more active than normal?

Getting a bit frustrated and anxious 😕 still haven't got the induction booked!

Those that have gone over - how much notice did the hospital give you?

I should be induced between Thursday and Sunday and it's Monday and they've just said nothing has been booked yet but they will chase the planning department 🫠

This was a while ago 😂 but with my eldest I was in on the Wednesday and induction was booked for the Saturday!

havananana · 13/03/2023 10:39

@Dreamingof3 what do you mean with you were in?

Choc2022 · 13/03/2023 10:54

@havananana a week but mine is 'planned'.

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark cant believe you're still waiting

Cdoc · 13/03/2023 10:57

Congratulations to everyone that has had their babies 🤍and thinking of those still waiting!

Baby boy was born last Monday 6th March at 7.25am.
I had gone in for induction the day before at 40+1 due to predicted very large baby. Luckily the three sweeps I’d had during the week before got me to 2cm so they broke my waters at 11.20pm Sunday night, that brought on the contractions and baby boy was born at 7.25am Monday morning. All happened pretty quickly once I got to 5cm! And 8lb 3oz so over 1lb less than the growth scans predicted 💙 FTM so definitely a shock to the system with the lack of sleep, but feeling very grateful😊

Rose429 · 13/03/2023 11:01

@Moonicorn I’m amazed at how much colostrum you have collected!

Just tried it for the first time today. After 30 mins of relaxing, massaging and squeezing, nothing came out “droplets like”. A tiny duct got a bit wet but that dried up immediately and not enough to be collected by the syringe. Any tips please?

havananana · 13/03/2023 11:02

Ignore my post, I'm being induced on Thursday 🥰

Are you a FTM? I definitely have a lot more this time than I did last time - last time it used to take me about 20 minutes to fill a 1ml syringe. Are you squeezing the right place? If you used your forefinger and thumb to make a ‘C’ shape, then the ‘C’ should go around the edge of the areola (so your not squeezing the nipple itself just the rink of it, if that makes sense). Then push your thumb towards the middle joint on the forefinger - that kind of motion, hope I’m explaining it ok!

Make sure you’re nice and warm with warm hands, I don’t get anything if it’s cold!

Moonicorn · 13/03/2023 11:05

*rim of it. Bloody autocorrect I changed it and it changed back!

Dreamingof3 · 13/03/2023 11:17

@havananana glad you have a date!

Rose429 · 13/03/2023 11:22

@Moonicorn Yes FTM maybe that’s why it’s taking time. I have been doing it like you said - squeezing the areolas, plus drinking plenty of water and keep warm. I will try again in the evening x

AK93 · 13/03/2023 11:24

Congratulations @Cdoc 💙 I was wondering if your little one was here yet when I was looking at the list! xx

Choc2022 · 13/03/2023 11:28

@Cdoc Congratulations!!

@havananana induction twin!!

@Rose429 I'm ftm and I have to squeeze the aerola and only happens for me after a long bath and warm hands. Takes me about 30/40 mins for 1/2 ml! One boob is better for me than the other.

I've been waiting for appointment for hours! The junior dr's are deffo having impact at my trust. Was supposed to be offered sweep but wasnt. I volunteered it and declined anyways. Dr asked me today why she was seeing me and then said all is well and told me I'm done.

We are being discharged today 🥳
Her weight is doing really well so we are free to go!! Just waiting for the paperwork.

Nettlestea · 13/03/2023 12:30

Awwww congratulations to all those that have had their babies, how exciting! 🎉

Im 39 weeks today and had another growth scan, baby is measuring huuuuge, 9.9lbs at the moment, so have asked for my care to be transferred to another hospital about an hour away that has gas and air available, so will probably be induced on Monday on due date. Unless baby decides to come before then, and I’ll have him at home. My local hospital is desperately trying to get gas and air back, but only two rooms have it available at the moment so there’s no guarantee I’ll have access to it. Feeling a lot more reassured today, I like to have a plan. Good luck to all those Mum’s still waiting! Not long now ❤️

Are you going for the pessary or the rods?

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 13/03/2023 15:30

@Nettlestea I'm being induced Monday too, 39+4 with a big baby!

BabyTalbot1 · 13/03/2023 16:12

I have a date! I am being induced on Monday 20th 😊 I will be 37 weeks.

People who are being/have been induced, did your partner join you when your waters broke? Are partners going with you for the induction process?

I was thinking of my partner joining me once my waters break.

@BabyTalbot1 how exciting! Last time I went alone (covid) and they phoned my husband when they realised I was 9cm and not just a lightweight 🤣 this time he's going to come in for the initial discussion and decision making and then might go home unless things happen quickly.
