@Rainbowbaby23 it’s good to be realistic about how your birthing journey may turn out but definitely try to be positive! Things can take a surprising turn so never know, could end up progressing nicely 😊

I was induced with my first baby at 36 weeks, I was sealed like a tomb! The induction was successful and didn’t end in a section - I would give it a go if there are no reasons not to!

I feel like such a fake for complaining as some of you are weeks ahead of me but Im feeling so fed up and tired today - everything hurts, everything is taking longer, I just want to pee/sleep/sit like a normal person again.

I’m nervous for the scan on Tuesday, and really hoping he’s under 8.5lb so I can go ahead with the induction on Friday. I know if he isn’t and I request a CS that I can’t justify it being that early and will have to ask for it to be delayed by another 10 days or so.

I’m also really constipated which isn’t helping how big/uncomfortable my bump feels ☹️

38+2 here and seriously struggling too. You're not alone!

I've spent a lot of time in tears lately. PGP+ big baby and I can barely move. My toddler keeps asking if I'm ok because I'm in tears most of the time. I'm going to speak to my midwife tomorrow as I think this it probably a bit too much and could be more serious than just my hormones. I never felt this low with my first.

Tbh I'm really pleased I'm not having to wait much longer and I'm only 37+4. he just keeps kicking out at my ribs of a night and wow it's painful! Although I am starting to shit myself that I'm going into hospital tomorrow 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm trying to be positive! Also been suffering with bad constipation - luckily without abdominal pains etc but unfortunately not without other end being uncomfortable!! (questioning how birth will go if it's not sorted before!)

I have a scan & consultant appt on Thursday if he's not here before - midwife questioned why as not usually scans that late into pregnancy, but if it's booked I'm taking it! It would be good to know if everything still ok before attempting to labour! And that's pretty much what the consultants registrar said, to extra check things are still good! I am a bit worried he could be bigger than I hope if he's put on as much weight as they "should" 🙈 maybe he will suddenly decide he's ready earlier but we will see!

I think it is that nearing the end but not quite there thing that makes this part so hard! First time mum so not experienced it before but I am starting to see how people get emotional, tired and fed up towards the end xx

I am absolutely with you all on feeling fed up and ready to not be pregnant and sore/uncomfortable all the time. I'll be 38 weeks tomorrow but I'm fortunate that I have my c section booked in for this Friday so the end is in sight.
Of course I've chosen now to suddenly start nesting 🙄 I think I have more things on my to do list than I can actually accomplish, especially as I'm working two more full days before maternity leave and battling back ache, PGP and lack of sleep!!

Hi All,
Just an update, my daughter arrived this Am- 6lb 9.5oz!
All well, waters were broken at 2.30am, contractions started, placed on drip, and she arrived at 10.08 Am.
It was a hard hour of pushing tbh and then I had to go to theatre after as the placenta was stuck to womb, epidural needed and Dr had to basically use his hand to scoop out placenta. No stitches or other medical intervention but gas and air but how I wished for an epidural in labour!

Has anyone else had a sore/achey vagina? It almost feels bruised. Unsure if it’s normal, at my last MW appointment baby was 4/5 engaged so unsure if it’s her just pushing on down

Congrats @Cats23. Seems a lot of us have inductions/c sects booked for this upcoming week. My induction booked for Thurs which is also officially first day of maternity leave. Im basically working up until birth as I cba with the admin to change the date by a day or two.

Im going to be offered the sweep but I think I'll decline. Its all starting to seem so real ans feel so unprepared (with pain expectations, when baby first arrives etc).

This week is stressing me out a bit. Went in for reduced movements on Thursday for the second time so they wanted to book me in a growth scan...but I already have one booked for Friday due to a drop in growth (very slightly!) at 36 week scan, so they might not be able to actually get one any earlier 😔 just a case of waiting for them to contact me! Due on Sunday so the plan is to book a section in when I see my consultant on Friday if baby doesn't look like she's making an appearance on her own.
