LifeOfRiley1 · 05/03/2023 18:15

@Blondewave congratulations and thank you for the reassurance! I have my section booked and am feeling pretty apprehensive.

allllll positive c-section stories more than welcome right now 😂

Yeah I mean if you don’t take the pain killers it’s very painful but it’s very manageable with pain killers I set an alarm as otherwise I’m in agony. However I was put off birth for years after traumatic forceps delivery vaginally where as already currently I’m asking my partner when we can have another baby. So you’ll be fine. Prepare for it to be awful and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. I think those that say it’s bad think it’s going to be pain free x

Room4onemore · 05/03/2023 22:48

My bags are all packed and by the front door, kids clothes ready for the morning. Pjs ready for tomorrow night. Just having my nightly Bantu then up to bed hoping I can get a decent nights sleep ready for the morning

Cats23 · 05/03/2023 23:34

Good luck @Room4onemore Good luck.

we never tell our names, ours are Norse inspired, thats all the info people get!
Our names are different but not out there- Our girl name had been chosen before conception ....hasnt changed, I love it!!
Our older children choose a middle name each for the baby...and this time the 2x younger Dc get to choose- I can confirm the names chosen from them are ' Isla Rose' , it goes well with the name we have chosen so thats fab!
Our boys name wouldve been 'Finn' !

In desperate need of some help advice….

im 37 weeks and so unbearably uncomfortable. My bump is solid pretty much 24/7, sleep is virtually impossible, got carpal tunnel in both wrists and I’m so fed up.

is it normal for my bump to be so hard it’s almost painful? Like it takes my breath away sometimes but it’s not like it’s actually contracting if that makes sense?

Cats23 · 06/03/2023 04:42

How long has this been happening?
I'd go get checked out perhaps.
lm 37 weeks on Wed, Ive been woken again by lower back ache and mild cramps. Happened Thurs too.
But, Ive gone for pee and when wiped have pink blood left on tissue, not heavy or red though, not mucus plug, so will see how I feel in a few hrs, Just taken paracetemol - Baby is back to back also!

ChristmasJumpers · 06/03/2023 06:15

@cats23 I am 37 weeks today and started to get some pink spotting yesterday too. No back ache or pains though. I has a bit of mucus plug over a couple of days last week but this is literally just pink blood. I'm on high alert as it's straight to hospital at first sign of labour for us!!

Rainbowbaby23 · 06/03/2023 07:57

39 weeks tomorrow and baby boy hasn't gave me one sign he's ready. Not even a little cramping, no sign of mucus plug or anything! Feeling very deflated

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 06/03/2023 08:09

@Cats23 it started Friday night/Saturday but went away in the afternoon. I just don't know what to do to get comfortable and actually get some sleep (finally fell asleep about 4.30am this morning but had to be up at 7 for work).

Dreamingof3 · 06/03/2023 08:32

@Marfs10 honestly, be selfish. This is our 3rd baby and I've got no issues telling people what visiting I'm comfortable with. People will happily travel for a short visit I find. The baby couldn't care less, so really it's about them but it needs to be about you too, you're the one who's physically recovering, as well as mentally and emotionally adjusting to your new arrival. A firm 'this day works for us but just for an hour please' is usually enough
My mother in law wants to come and stay for 4 days 😵‍💫 won't be happening 🤣🤣

BabyLimey · 06/03/2023 09:06

@Rainbowbaby23 I feel the same and am 39+5 today but trying to be reassured but the number of people who say they went into labour with absolutely no signs 🤞🏼

Rainbowbaby23 · 06/03/2023 09:09

@BabyLimey hoping I’m like that😂 although I think baby is still pretty high up and hasn't really dropped yet, so not sure if they will still do sweep on thursday? I hope so lol

havananana · 06/03/2023 09:17

@Rainbowbaby23 I'm also due a sweep on Thursday!

Last Monday baby was only 1/5th engaged.
Last week, she seems to be moving in and out of my pelvis- some days or moments feels like my uterus ends so low and I feel the bowling ball between my legs, but some days like this morning her bum feels right up to my ribs!

Stretch and sweep only has about a 24% success rate so I'm not putting big hopes on it anyways, but I don't want to go over, so hoping my midwife can at least do it

Rainbowbaby23 · 06/03/2023 09:24

@havananana I feel the same, one day really low but today his bum is way up to my ribs! He is OP so I think it makes it harder for baby to engage and it’s possible he won’t engage until labour.

I'm not leaving my appointment on Thursday without an induction date😂

Choc2022 · 06/03/2023 10:17

So baby is now 'off the chart' meaning I will be induced at 39 weeks and a sweep at 38 weeks. If I refuse the sweep, is it still the sweep and pessary process on induction day or pessary only? (Sorry if this question is Trust specific).

Dreamingof3 · 06/03/2023 10:37

@Choc2022 it's up to you, they can advise what they'll offer and you can choose which parts to accept or decline

MoronikaFaceache · 06/03/2023 10:41

@Choc2022 I’m 40+5 today.
Spoke to mw at weekend, and said if necessary, I would only want induction, no sweep beforehand.
Would not be an issue, my choice. Although, she was encouraging me to have it, and said best chances of success are close to due date, esp 40-41 weeks.

havananana · 06/03/2023 11:04

@Rainbowbaby23 fingers crossed for us on Thursday! Or maybe babies will come on their own before.🤞

Moonicorn · 06/03/2023 11:16

Pessary only was what happened for me last time. They only sweep in the hope it will send you into ‘natural’ labour - no point on the day! They’ll be hoping it works between 38 and 39 weeks though for you if that makes sense. I’ve never had a sweep I’m guessing at 37w it’s a bit pointless as so unlikely to work - so it’ll be straight to pessary for me next week!

Moonicorn · 06/03/2023 11:16

@Choc2022 how much does baby weigh? Do you have GD or just a chunky one? How many weeks are you now? I’m very invested in all things ‘big baby’!

BabyLimey · 06/03/2023 11:24

@Rainbowbaby23 i think they still do the sweep if the baby is high but I have mine on Wednesday so will let you know. Baby is definitely not engaged and has moved out of my pelvis in the last week or so after being really low for about 6 weeks!!

havananana · 06/03/2023 11:25

My midwife said she wouldn't do a sweep if baby was free. Is that the same for you?

Room4onemore · 06/03/2023 11:42

In the hospital now, first set of gel applied but baby is head down and still high

iratepirate · 06/03/2023 11:43

They’ve mentioned a sweep will be offered at 41w but I’d really rather not go over due date.
I don’t think they’re classing me as high risk looking at my notes but I’ve had a stillbirth in the past (not full term but it still makes me anxious) so I would feel much happier if they would do something sooner, but there we go.

BabyTalbot1 · 06/03/2023 12:31

So exciting reading about everyone's journey and the arrival of little ones. I find out a week today when the baby will be delivered. I cried yesterday and went into a bit of a panic because it is all happening a little too quickly. But all okay today 😊

Bobduncan · 06/03/2023 12:33

I'm 37 weeks and looks like they may offer induction now as she's looking a little smaller than they would like. Anyone have experience of induction at this gestation? I've only heard bad things about induction which makes me think would a c section be a better option?
