Totally forgot to update the thread with my news!

Baby Theo was born on the 2nd March 2023 weighing 6lbs13oz.

Enjoying newborn life and being a mamma of 3 even if it is chaos 😆👣

I'm genuinely worried I won't know if I'm having contractions or not. When I laboured with my first, it was all in my back and I honestly wouldn't have known they were contractions if the midwife wasn't telling me 😂 anyway that labour went nowhere so I don't feel like I experienced true contractions. This baby is apparently back to back as well and I've got horrible lower back pain that also definitely comes and goes 🤷🏼‍♀️ how will I know the difference if/when the time comes 😂

Hey guys! Still catching up on this thread, last time I logged on was Friday and I had just gone into labour!

Its been a pretty intense week, I ended up with an emergency c section - it hit me hard, I really wasn't expecting it, the emotional or physical pain. We then had to stay in hospital for 5 days but finally home now. Baby girl is healthy and was born on 25th Feb! 💕

Ftm life has been good expect baby is not sleeping at night at all unless someone is holding her!! What a nightmare, super sleep deprived since labour and it doesn't look like it's subsiding 😔

@Splashh congrats, we have one of those too except it's only at night and she'll only sleep on me, so I've had very minimal sleep since I've given birth, tomorrow is a new day tho and I will be napping once she's had a feed during the day

Do you put her in a swaddle, or a sleeping bag? Does one or the other make any difference at all?

Congratulations @Splashh sorry to hear you had a hard time of it, I hope you're taking care of yourself
The sleep is unfortunately completely normal 😂 don't let people tell you what you're doing wrong or that you shouldn't be holding her, you just have to do what you can to get through this bit. Can you take it in shifts at all (appreciate that's difficult if you're breastfeeding and baby is cluster feeding!) So you and your partner can get a little block of sleep each?

38+5 today and I am just so ready for this baby to come now😂

@Rainbowbaby23 I hear you! I'm 40 + 1 today and so over it! I'm getting very impatient!

D'oh I'm actually 40 + 2 today! So impatient that I've lost count!

@pamplemousse19 are you still working?

I'm 39+3 and excited but also it's so nice to be on maternity leave now and just chill out, go on dates, relax 😊

Congrats @Splashh it will get better, I remember DD1 was the same, cosleeping worked well for us, but she spent a lot of the early days literally on my chest through the night!

Currently 40+4.. MW saying if all else OK, and still no labour this week, induction will be scheduled for 41+3.. (so Sat 11th Mar!)
It’s the final countdown!😮

I’ve got my sweep on Thursday and I think we will discuss induction then too, would be nice to have an idea of when he will be here

My baby was born via c section on Friday and he won’t sleep anywhere apart from on one of us. It is totally normal fourth trimester just go with it and take it in turns with your partner. We are doing 3 hourly stints through the night each so we can both get sleep. It’s hard to stay awake with him for 3 hours when the other is sleeping so I’ve been playing games on phone / watching a series etc. hang on in there this is normal newborn behaviour 💗👶🏼 im breastfeeding and try and feed just before we swap ‘shifts’ so he’ll go a good few hours but when partners turn to cuddle / hold him he gave A bottle of formula last night to settle him as he wants to feed hourly during night but in day he’ll go 4 plus hours between 🤣🤭 xx

Also a note to anyone expecting a c section. My last birth was a vaginal so I’ve experienced both now. My vaginal birth was way more traumatic to recover from. This one tho the surgical pain is quite intense however I’m only 2 days in and as long as I keep on the strong pain killers I can shuffle to the toilet and back to bed comfortably. I did too much yesterday and was in agony by bedtime and actually fainted 🙄 now I’m in bed doing little walks around the bed and to the bathroom. Going to attempt first postnatal shower soon. C section was no where near as bad as I thought it would be so anyone expecting one. Don’t worry 😄

I'm on day 9 had a vaginal delivery and still feel terrible. My bleeding is heavy my stitches are sore I'm glad we agreed on only 1 child I don't think I could do pregnancy and the afterbirth again.

Congratulations new mummies!! I've just been catching up on Friday-today and can't believe how many babies have been born 😍
I had my baby shower yesterday which was so lovely. We've also been given a c section date of 17th March due to baby girls accelerated growth. The count down is on!!!
