DC1, 36 and 46, first cycle, lots of sex in days before during and after ovulation using one of those little ferning ovulation microscopes which magnifies cervical mucous to pinpoint optimum time. Previously used one as birth control, so felt fairly confident.

DC2, 39 and 49, as above.

I was 25 and DH 27 when we started ttc, 27 and 29 when I finally got pregnant. That was ten cycles over, just shy of, two years. Yay for pcos.
We’ve now been properly ttc for 18 months (never went back on contraception but started tracking cycles etc again at 28 and 30) and no luck yet. Only about 8 or 9 cycles I think.

bellinisurge · 09/10/2023 07:56

I was 40, he was 33. Took us two cycles. I had spent a year up to that point eating super healthy and avoiding alcohol. My first and only pregnancy- now in my late 50s.

ShinyBandana · 09/10/2023 07:58

1st child, me 38 him 43, first cycle after miscarriage (miscarried pregnancy was second cycle from starting ttc)

2nd child, me 42 him 48, this took over a year and we had given up hope of it happening at all

Haveyouseenthemuffinman · 09/10/2023 07:58

A year at 29/30. Two years at 32/34. One middle of the night go at 37. Same partners.

CutiePatooties · 09/10/2023 08:00

1st- I was 26, DH 44.
2nd- I was 32, DH 50.

Both conceived within one month and like another PP I wasn’t tracking anything, we were very casual about it. I too, do realise we are very fortunate.

No health problems with either, both vaginal births with no complications. I want another but DH says he’s too old to go through it all again.

Scaredycats · 09/10/2023 08:03

33 and 37 - it took 3 cycles, but I came off the pill a year before we started trying to regulate my cycle. We used condoms in that time as I didn’t want to get pregnant before our wedding.

countrypunk · 09/10/2023 08:23

Me 39, him 41. It's taken us 3 years, 2 cycles of ICSI and 1 miscarriage and I'm now 16 weeks pregnant. We were 36 and 38 when we started trying.

Vintagecreamandcottagepie · 09/10/2023 08:26

35 me 32 h
37 34
38 35

All within 2 months of trying.

Did have one mc just before first successful pregnancy

worryingalot · 09/10/2023 08:33

4 years, a bunch of mcs, no continuing pregnancy 36&49

Foreveristoolong · 09/10/2023 08:38

#1 started trying aged 19 took 5 years

#2 took 18 months

#3 first month trying

#4 currently on cycle 24

Foreveristoolong · 09/10/2023 08:40

And apparently we have no fertility issues as all tests have been fine but something is clearly not 100%. I use opks and have a regular cycle and ovulate each month, we dtd enough and track cycles it just seems to take us longer (apart from dc3!)

RiderofRohan · 09/10/2023 08:43

Me 35, DH 38. Tried unsuccessfully for 9 months. I had surgery to remove a polyp and then we conceived first cycle after that. I'm almost 15 weeks and feel very fortunate.

waterlego · 09/10/2023 08:45

1st: 27 (me) DH (30), first cycle

2nd: 29 and 32, third cycle

Mum2aTeen · 09/10/2023 09:09

I was 21, and my partner was 24 complete surprise pregnancy (I was on the pill and had been for like 4/5 years and no surprises but seemed like our son really wanted to be here).
So, I think it was our first try and had a great pregnancy. I was young, healthy and able 😄.

tealsea · 09/10/2023 09:14

Both 28 when we started but took 3 years / 3 rounds ivf. No further pregnancies (didn’t have any more ivf)

RushinBushin · 09/10/2023 09:15

A month, both in our thirties. A surprisingly quick turnaround even for us!

nameChangerTummyTuck · 09/10/2023 09:16

Age 24/25/27/29 concieved within 1st month
DH was 24/24/26/28
He had vasectomy age 29 as we seemed
To be very fertile. His Dad and Grandad both had vasectomies that failed and had an extra child but 10yr later not happened..!

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 09/10/2023 09:17

We started trying when we were both about 39. It took us 6 months each time, but only 1 of my 3 pregnancies went the distance. So for me I don't think age was a factor in getting pregnant but it may have been a factor in staying pregnant. Or it might not have, of course - I'd never tried before so I don't know that it wouldn't have been the same 10 years earlier.

Somanycats · 09/10/2023 09:17

Both 31. Never. We adopted aged 39.

ElleCapitaine · 09/10/2023 09:18

39 and DH37. We tried the once. Just once.

mondaytosunday · 09/10/2023 09:20

Me 40, DH 44 - four months
Me 42, DH 46 - four months
Babies now 18 and 20 😱!

Rudeface · 09/10/2023 09:21

Me 33 and dh 28 second cycle
I was breastfeeding ds and we didn't use contraception. Second pregnancy when ds was 18 months.

CornishGem1975 · 09/10/2023 09:22

Both 39, first month.

NamiSwan · 09/10/2023 09:27

First- both 28, first cycle
Second- both 30, third cycle
Third- both 34, fifth cycle

With second and third I was actually much more aware of my (irregular) cycle and my fertility windows etc, it just seemed to take longer. But then I know people who took ages to conceive their first and fell pregnant easily their second time!
