Can't indulge (much) in the mulled wine.

ThomCatsAreNotJustForXmas · 05/12/2004 19:21

EVERYTHING gave me heartburen, I had about 8 botles of Gaviscon that I planted everywhere, work, handbags, car, etc etc

When is bubs due?

fisilhohoho · 05/12/2004 19:24

Hello TC! Due in May.

I'm right off all alcohol still - not out of principal, just can't bear the thought, even now well into the 2nd trimester.

On Christmas nights out you have to listen to drunk people telling the same stories over and over again. And you don't find them funny.

Then you have to drive everyone home.

(am very happy to be pregnant though!)

ThomCatsAreNotJustForXmas · 05/12/2004 19:27

How awful for you! Grin
Luckily for me I could bear the odd glass of wine.

Heartburn is such a bummer isn't it, God bless Gavison Smile

mrsflowerpot · 05/12/2004 19:29

can't even think of a roast turkey dinner without wanting to heave...

ThomCatsAreNotJustForXmas · 05/12/2004 19:29

Lootie was born on the 17th Dec. She was due on the 7th, copuln't take being 11 days over so got on the castor oil. Managed a couple of glasses of champayne over the festive seaon but was breast feeding so....

ThomCatsAreNotJustForXmas · 05/12/2004 19:30

misdee · 05/12/2004 19:32

fisilhohoho · 05/12/2004 19:33

ds was due on 31st Dec, so had to put up all over Xmas (and New Year) with constant talk of "OMG How big are you?" "is it triplets" and all the other funny jokes that people come up with to heavily pg women (and of course the more drunk they were the funnier, I could have died laughing at some of the jokes made after midnight on New Years' Eve)!

We usually have smoked salmon and bagels for breakfast on Christmas Day, really missed those last year when pg with DD2!

Tinker · 05/12/2004 19:43

I'm not off alcohol Sad

popsycal · 05/12/2004 19:48

me - feeling miserable and in need of a big bottle of red wine.....
heartburn city here too....guzzling gaviscon!

Eulalia · 05/12/2004 20:07

I expect on Christmas day to be right at the peak of nausea and not be able to eat anything and I'll have to tell my parents. My mum will be miserable about it as she doesn't think I should have any more kids. I suppose it will be good not to rush out in the mornings to school and not have to make packed lunches etc... so that is a bonus.

codswallop · 05/12/2004 20:09

yorkie why no smoked salmon?
god eat it up!

codswallop · 05/12/2004 20:09

I did a pg test on xmas day for ds2
that was a mistake

dinny · 05/12/2004 20:22

will leave you with that

moondog · 05/12/2004 21:24

Was 10 weeks pregnant last year, worrying about imminent nuchal scan and about to break the news to the family when my sister's three week old ds contracted Meningitis, so obviously I didn't.
Not a jolly time (and not enough booze to get me through it either!)
This year should be better (esp. as nephew now right as rain and about to celebrate first birthday thank God) with my little 6 mth old ds!

lovinit · 06/12/2004 00:48

Last year I was BF DD, this year will be harder as only 10 weeks by Xmas Day. I MISS my over indulgence during the Festive Season !!!!!!!

What is the "allowed"alcohol intake ? Should I be concerned if I start feeling "Pissed" ?!

dancer77 · 06/12/2004 01:17

I was actually due on xmas day last year. Not the best time not being able to move! Ds didn't come till the 6th january. But all xmas every time I got a twinge everybody thought the baby was coming. Glad it wasn't xmas day!

TwasTheNightBeforeXmasOwl · 06/12/2004 04:16

dd was due on 14th Jan. christmas wasnt too bad but i was fed up on new years eve. so i tiled the toilet floor (not the back of the toilet as i was too big to fit there!) and at ten to twelve i went to watch the tv. at 12 i had a shot glass of wine with ds and that was it...thank god for my friend's new years party this year!

hana · 06/12/2004 08:34

not being able to eat all the yummy food
not being able to have yummy drinks ( in moderation of course)
not being able to wear my festive clothes
