Hello ladies
I'm 44 and had 4 previous miscarriages..... Found out last wk I'm pregnant and incredibly anxious after so many losses and my age. Lack of symptoms aren't helping besides the stretching twinges.

Is anyone joining me in this journey?

First scan for me tomorrow as well, late in the afternoon which will be hard to hold on for! All my very bad nausea from the last two weeks has disappeared in last 4 days so I’m hoping that’s not a bad sign. I’m on Cyclogest which I have read can stop you miscarrying if the baby has stopped growing, I’m really hoping that’s not the case. Good luck @Vwswimmer1 , hope your results are good

Blueskies4 · 13/02/2023 19:09

@R184 @Littleheart5 Hoping you have positive scans tomorrow

HopefulBee · 13/02/2023 20:23

All the best of luck for your scans @Vwswimmer1 , @Littleheart5 and @R184!

and great news @Blueskies4 , such a lovely thing to see 🥰.

We had our scan after some spotting on Friday and it's another miscarriage :( I knew it would be and feel I've already grieved it. It's a bit confusing as they've said PUL but have seen the gestational sac??? Blood tests 48 hours apart to see what hcg is doing

CaliGirl47 · 14/02/2023 10:27

I’m so sorry for what you are going through 💔 @BEL88 I really hope that you are supported in this time of grieving. And hopefully your blood results can give you some answers on your path going forward. Sending hugs and a hand hold. 💐

Littleheart5 · 14/02/2023 10:28

So sorry to hear that @BEL88

Houseelf90 · 14/02/2023 12:16

So sorry @BEL88 💔 take care of yourself x

Astar21 · 14/02/2023 12:30

@BEL88 so so sorry to hear this, hope you have good support around you and be kind to yourself 💐 x

Astar21 · 14/02/2023 12:36

Hope everyone having scans today gets on okay ❤️

I had some pink spotting and uncomfortable tummy pains yesterday and absolutely freaked out. But had a scan this morning at EGU and everything is fine 💓 little bean measuring 9w with a strong heartbeat 🌈

Houseelf90 · 14/02/2023 15:33

Glad you had good news @Astar21!

I feel like I’ve exploded today! My boobs are huge and my belly is huge! Am in the office and feel really conscious that I look about 6 months pregnant!! I know it’s just bloat and not bump but christ my jeans are hurting my belly!! I’m going to have to rethink my work wardrobe and find some baggy jumpers I think!

CaliGirl47 · 14/02/2023 16:23

I’m so glad you’ve said this and I’m not the only one! @Houseelf90 these last few days the bloat has been soo bad. I find myself undoing my top button of my jeans at various points throughout the day and then just give up by the end of the day leaving them gaping open 😂 I already carry weight around my tummy so add on this bloat and I look about 16 weeks pregnant instead of the 8 that I am 🙈 I honestly don’t know how to dress to hide it. I feel like no one will be shocked when they eventually find out after 12 weeks. Haha

Houseelf90 · 14/02/2023 18:00

@CaliGirl47 ahh I am so glad it’s not just me!! I feel ridiculous, like I know it cannot possibly be a “bump” but at the same time it’s making me feel very pregnant even with very little symptoms! I am sure someone is going to guess and like you say it’s not going to be a surprise when I announce it! In fact someone at work did guess (well, they made a jokey comment saying “you know what that means”) last week when I said innocently that I couldn’t stop eating!! I wasn’t bothered that he’d said it as it’s the kind of banter I have with him, we get on very well and thankfully I really trust him as I can’t lie to save my life 🤣

Passenger87 · 14/02/2023 19:03

@Houseelf90 & @CaliGirl47 today was the first time things felt a little snug and I thought u was losing it. The bloat is real!

A little trick I remember from my first (although I remember being much further along) was to loop a hair tie over the the button and through the loop of my jeans. I deffo got an extra month out of them doing this.

Littleheart5 · 14/02/2023 19:13

Had my scan late this afternoon, so happy to say we got a strong heartbeat straightaway and everything looks really good. Measuring at 7+3. For everyone who hasn’t had a good outcome, my heart is with you having been there twice before

Houseelf90 · 14/02/2023 19:16

@Passenger87 I have heard that trick actually! I’ll make sure I’ve always got one in my bag so if I need it throughout the day even if my jeans feel fine in the morning!
@CaliGirl47 I’ve got a baggy jumper in the wash to wear tomorrow, hopefully that will help me feel a bit less conscious! There were 2 pregnant girls sat near me today, both at least 5 months and I felt the most pregnant one there 🙄

Houseelf90 · 14/02/2023 19:24

@Littleheart5 thats lovely news, I’m so pleased for you 🥰

Passenger87 · 14/02/2023 19:28

@Littleheart5 great news! =)

@Houseelf90 I popped a few in my bag today as I know I'm going to need them!

How is everyone symptom wise? I have extreme all day nausea but haven't gotten sick (yet), and ridiculous fatigue!

HopefulBee · 14/02/2023 19:39

Fantastic news @Littleheart5 ! Very happy for you that you got to see your baby and all was well.

@Houseelf90 , @CaliGirl47 and @Passenger87 I’ve also been really bloated these last days. Bit more blocked up too 🤪. Other than that I still have nausea although with the medication days I’ve barely felt it (which got me scared) and others it’s there but manageable. Today has been quite rough despite the meds. Plus endless fatigue and increased discharge. Anyone else have that?

HopefulBee · 14/02/2023 19:40

@Vwswimmer1 and @R184 thinking of you hoping all went well today.

R184 · 14/02/2023 19:49

Mine went well today, baby is growing as expected and measuring on track. Not sure the anxiety will ever leave until he/she is born tho!

Vwswimmer1 · 14/02/2023 19:54

My scan went okayish, I saw the fetal pole, yolk and a heartbeat but he seemed a bit unsure and wants a repeat in 10-14 days. He's my gynaecologist rather than a private scan so not sure if he's a bit more pessimistic? Trying to feel positive about what I saw.

Passenger87 · 14/02/2023 20:13

@R184 glad to hear all went well.

@Vwswimmer1 how far along should you be?

Vwswimmer1 · 14/02/2023 20:25

Around 7 weeks I think, maybe a few days more. It measured 5.5mm which looks on the smaller end but still okay and I saw the heartbeat straight away which was reassuring. I feel like he's generally quite honest and pessimistic. Got further than I ever have before so just got to stay positive. Booked another for 13 days time due to weekend etc

Houseelf90 · 14/02/2023 20:33

I have been soooo tired!! I thought I was tired before but the past couple of days is on another level!!
@HopefulBee yes I definitely have increased discharge!! And more blocked up despite being a tad windy 😳 tmi, sorry!!
Other than tiredness, and still slightly sore nipples, my symptoms really come and go. I often feel a bit crap/nauseous in the evenings but not too bad throughout the day.

@R184 pleased to hear your scan went well!

@Vwswimmer1 its hard not getting definite answers, but it sounds as though there are some definite positives if you saw a heartbeat! Good luck for your next scan, I hope you see lots of progression!!

pinkpirlie · 14/02/2023 23:05

@Vwswimmer1 mine was measuring similar about 7 weeks. I don't think they can accurately measure that early. Try not to worry, but I know it is so hard not to.

All those who have suffered losses, you're in my thoughts. Take the time you need to grieve and care for yourselves. Loss is so hard! 💜

@Passenger87 @Houseelf90 @HopefulBee my symptoms are definitely coming and going too with no patter. This evening I've not kept a thing down, but I was okay all day. Yesterday I threw up in the morning. Sunday didn't throw up at all. I also have the opposite problem to being backed up which is never touted as a pregnancy symptom. The exhaustion is real. I'm out of breath just moving around the house.

Congratulations for all those who have seen heartbeats of the last few days.
