Baby due tomorrow, annoyed with so many people wanting updates!

I'm feeling a bit guilty for being annoyed but baby is due tomorrow and so many people keep leaving me messages everywhere and calling me to ask if there are any signs of baby........

I know I'd be upset if nobody cared but I find that I spend all day looking out for the signs and I get my hopes up but when it doesn't progress, its disappointing, and I really don't want people asking me, especially when they say "tell him to hurry up" and he isn't even late yet!! Am I expected to tell everyone when my labour starts and then inform them again when baby is born!

Sorry rant over, anyone else feel like this or am I being selfish?

vixenwasp I also thought that brownish show could be a sign of baby distress. I would call my midwife or my labour ward just to be on the safe side. Actually I would call the labour ward, you definitely are in labour, so you will have to speak to them sooner or later, so I would call to put my mind at rest.
Good luck and loads of positive vibes...I don't mean to sound like you friend but it is very possible that tomorrow you WILL have a little baby in your arms.

all the best!

vixenwasp · 15/02/2008 16:28

Yes we can't wait thank you. Will give them a call now x

Sorry to bore you all i phoned hospital, they said all is fine and that brown and green is only bad if in your waters, and that the brown is prob old blood (like the end of period)

Arhhhhhh am much more relaxed now after those moments of panic!

Think i've got a way to go, I'll post before I leave for the hospital (unless I get into another panic and need more mumsnet help )

Hi Vixen, how is it going today? Are you feeling niggly, pee'd off and in pain, or are you holding your lo?

vixenwasp · 16/02/2008 16:06

We went to the hospital at 3am this morning so I could be examined and put my mind at rest, they did a sweep and said I was def in early labour, they told me to stay there for a couple of hours... Nothing really progressed and we were exhausted so we went home at half 6 to try and sleep, me being 2cm dilated.

Today I am still vvvv tired. They told me to come in whenever, preferabley with contractions 4/5 mins appart or if the pain is too bad. Still no pattern, but very painful. Really don't know when to (obv unless waters break) as its quite comfortable at home...

Wanted it to happen before 16:00 tomorrow when i'm booked in, as I would like to use the birth pool etc.

i actually did start telling people that yes ihad had it and forgotten to tell them- went 2 weeks over with both mine and people say i went crazy by the end. people dont know what it is like if they havent been through it nad they just care but BOY is it annoying!!!!YADNBU. i refused to tell anyone about when in labour and mil not happy about it at all. seemed to think she had a right to know! i even replied to texts from her (that became v obviously checkingly frequent) when i was in labour to throw her off the scent !

nowwearefour · 17/02/2008 19:59

I put a message on the answerphone to the tune of:

"We've decided we're not having a baby after all, so we've gone shopping for a white carpet instead. Our mobiles are off. If we change our minds we call you, cheerio".

bohemianbint · 18/02/2008 13:13
