Well, I'm being induced today. So I could have her today, or tomorrow. Or 3 days time. I know how long the induction process can take 😅

Been awake since 5:30. Excited. Nervous. Feeling both completely prepared and also unprepared. Hoping being induced will be so much quicker this time and clinging to the small bit of hope I have that maybe my contractions will start fairly naturally (from just the prostaglandin) and I don't have to be attached to the god awful oxy drip 😢

How exciting. I hope it goes brilliantly and your baby arrives soon. Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl?

Thank you! We are having another little girl 😅 we already have 2 girls and this is our last baby, so DP is outnumbered but happy❤️

Oh wow how exciting!!! You'll have a baby in your arms before long. Good luck today, come back and post a pic later or at least an update 😉

MintJulia · 28/12/2022 06:55

Good luck 🍾

PopsicleHustler · 28/12/2022 06:57

I am so excited for you because I read and replied on your other thread.
I am 38+5 and am losing my mucus plug and having pains front back but easy to manage.

Wish you nothing but the best best @EllieRosesMammy do you have your hospital bag and snack bag ready to go!

PopsicleHustler · 28/12/2022 07:00

Uhhh, I hate that drip, its hideous.

Also highly recommend water birth if you're able to! 3 girls is amazing. We have 3 daughters

Eeek hopefully not much longer for you either!!❤️

All packed and ready! Snack bag is the most important, I say it to everyone asking for advice what to pack when going in to give birth - lots of snacks!! 😂

It's the worst isn't it 😩

Id of loved to give a water birth a go but I'm high risk and usually hooked up to lots of monitors and/or drips so unfortunately no water birth for me 😢

I preferred my induced birth over my second birth where she came on time. It was more relaxed and controlled I was better prepared and I had better pain relief 🤣 I wish you all the best hopefully by tonight you will have a lovely little bundle in your arms and it would have all been worth it

Izitso · 28/12/2022 07:08

Ah what a lovely post to wake up to! Such an exciting time for you and your family🙂Her big sisters will be beside themselves I bet! Good luck with it all💐

Whattheladybird · 28/12/2022 07:11

See I love the organisation of it (knowing exactly what date I'm going in to hospital, having everything ready, having childcare sorted etc) but I'd of liked just once to experience spontaneous labour. Just so I can see for myself if there's much of a pain difference between being induced and going naturally 😅

Thank you everyone for your lovely well wishes!! I'll update the thread once she's here xx

Swissnotswiss · 28/12/2022 09:15

Good luck! Crossing my fingers you avoid the hideous drip!

20viona · 28/12/2022 09:54

Good luck! Iv had 2 inductions and I actually much preferred the second one with the drip!

Both very quick though 2 hours and 1 hour of active labour until birth.

In sept I was due to be induced on the 2nd and it didn't happen until the 4th as it was so busy, hoping this isn't the case for you.

Seems like that's going to be the case, I've just rang back and they've delayed it to tomorrow now due to their workload. Obviously I understand I'm just really frustrated, uncomfortable and fed up. I was so ready to be induced today 😢

@EllieRosesMammy it's the most frustrating thing in the world, my hospital was useless at contacting me too so I rang in tears once. Felt bad for the midwives it was not their fault they were short staffed. Once I was good to go though it didn't take long. They had me in for daily monitoring though is yours doing this?

Dyra · 28/12/2022 10:45

Aww I'm sorry it's not go time today. I had this back in March. I was an inpatient already, so the induction started on time as planned. But then to get to the waters popping/drip stage I waited 4 days. Extremely frustrating.

Fingers crossed everyone delivers quickly and with zero issues so they can get to you sooner. And then you also deliver quickly with zero issues yourself.

TeaandHobnobs · 28/12/2022 11:05

Good luck @EllieRosesMammy!

I was induced at 40+5 with my second, because of obstetric cholestasis - I only needed the pessary to get things going, and my labour went super quick after that! So fingers crossed for you that yours does the same 🤞🏻

Aww yeah I know what you mean. I'm really frustrated but I also completely get where they're coming from. I'm high dependancy so once they start the induction process I'm admitted till I have baby. Both times before its took 3 days from start to finish😢 x

best wishes! come back and tell us all about her xx

PumpkinDart · 28/12/2022 11:41

Good luck OP, I had an induction but it took the drip to get me going I was dreading it but I'm not exaggerating it was the same feeling as contracting with my other non induced births so try not to stress. Hope you get to meet your baby soon 😊

EllieRosesMammy · 28/12/2022 14:09

DP rang just now on the off chance the ward had quietened down and no luck, they've infact got busier 😩 I'm praying that tomorrow I don't get the same response x
