IVF trigger shot or positive test

I was so convinced and maybe still am that this IVF round didn't work. My official test date is in 2 days but today I am 16 days post trigger shot and I'm testing positive. I have been taking loads of tests anyway and they have been very very faint positive in the last few days, due to the trigger shot that apparently can linger for a while, but last night and this morning these tests look slightly darker. Any thoughts? Can it still be trigger shot after 16 days??😫

The trigger shot should be out of your system from 10-14 days, so at 16 days with a test that's getting darker I'd say this is a true positive test! Congratulations!

Hi @Miarez Yes I was also told that the trigger would be out of your body 14 days after you injected it so I think that’s a positive 🥳

I always felt absolutely NOT pregnant when I was, so in my book that's good news.

I think it's real!!! I honestly thought I'd never see BFP after 2.5 long years. I hope the little seed sticks!

Well I woke up this morning to cramps and brown spotting. I took another first response and it looks lighter than yesterday. I am now worried I had an early miscarriage😔😔😔

The spotting could be implantation bleeding or just a little clot. I bled for 2 weeks straight at the very beginning and they couldn’t even see a cause for it but just assumed it was a little clot that had dispersed. Don’t lose hope yet x

Oh, don't lose hope yet. Someone I know who was also going through IVF and had had a few miscarriages was told she was having another but the scan to confirm it, showed a lovely heartbeat and her little baby is just gorgeous!

Thank you for the positive stories. I will keep you updated but it's not looking great at the moment. I will call the clinic tomorrow and see what they say❤

OP I'm so sorry to hear this, what a huge stress for you. I have absolutely everything crossed for you at the scan tomorrow. I know it may not help but I had lots of brown spotting and then two really heavy bleeds with clots etc. Scans were all fine and they noted an SCH which is not uncommon in IVF. But I do remember it being horrendously worrying and I am sending all of the positive thoughts your way. X

Still waiting for a call back from the clinic but I have been having proper bleeding since last night, with cloths and all😒. I took a test this morning and it still came back positive, but still probably a bit fainter than the Saturday one. Would I not show negative already if it was a chemical or can it take a while? I'm just now thinking maybe it's an ectopic pregnancy or something else? At this point I just want to have a certain answer and move on!

@hopefullsosbry I had a chemical unfortunately. I tested positive few more days after even though I had a full on period and then eventually tested negative. Back to the drawing board for us!
