Hi, I thought I would start a thread to hopefully share other peoples experiences of the dreaded tww!

I am only 1dp5dt (ft) so a long way to go before my testing day (9th Nov). The transfer went well with a little 3BB put in. Not bad quality (not the best either) but I am happy that we had any that reached day 5. We have 3 more that may potentially be ok for freezing, I find out today 🤞🏻. Slow developers!

I felt a little sore after the transfer and had a few twinges for the rest of the day. It’s almost impossible not to analyse every tiny sensation 😆.

It would be really lovely to share this experience with others in the same boat xx

I am 8dp5dt (ft) and have a blood test scheduled for 14dp5dt on 7 November. On most days, I've experienced minimal to no symptoms. But on the evening of the transfer I did feel nauseous for a bit, which could have been due to the "embryo glue" used in the transfer. Yesterday I started getting abdominal cramps, bloating and changes in bowel movement. It's hard to tell if these symptoms mean anything, so I try not to look too much into it.

What meds are you on post-transfer? I have been prescribed twice-daily 400mg Cyclogest (progesterone) pessaries in addition to once-daily 0.4ml Clexane (enoxaparin sodium) injection; 25mg Prolutex (progesterone) injection; 5mg Predo (prednisolone) tablet; 100mg Aspirin; and 5mg Folic Acid.

I was woken up last night with what felt like electric shocks in my lower abdomen. I had them this morning again. I’m hoping they’re something to do with implantation but may be wishful thinking 😂.

Wow! You are on so much medication. I am just on progesterone suppositories 3 x a day that’s it. And I’m continuing all my multivitamins.

I have actually asked to push my OTD back a day to next Thursday. Do you think you will hold off testing until the 7th?

I am also currently in my TWW and have a test date of the 7th November.

it is so hard not to symptom spot, but I have definitely had mild cramping, nausea and extreme tiredness. I am putting this down to the meds twice-daily 400mg Cyclogest.

This is my first round and it is so hard … i keep going from being super excited for the possibilities to being so upset and nervous that this won’t work out. #emotionalwreck

how are you coping with life? I am finding it so difficult to focus on work.

Are the sensations in your abdomen painful? Mine have gotten worse! I’m now unable to consume a lot of liquids, so my dr has asked me to come in tomorrow. I dread that it could be late onset ohss, but hopefully not. Let’s see what happens at the clinic.

I’ve been tempted to do a test at home during the tww, but dh has managed to talk me out of it each time. Our understanding is that with ft, residual hcg from the trigger shot could show as a false positive if we tested too early. How about you?

Hello @Germanlife! Sending you lots of luck and best wishes. It’s my first round as well. Did you do ft or et? I can totally relate to your rollercoaster of emotions. One moment everything is swell, the next I’m drowning in anxiety.

Does your manager know about your IVF? Hope they are understanding towards your situation. I’m a stay-at-home cat mum for the time being, but dh and I have decided to keep our IVF private. So far we’ve only told his boss (out of necessity), a few family members and close friends who also have infertility struggles.

So we have done a FT.

we are pretty open about our situation with our friends and family, for me it is easier as I am an open person by nature. But in terms of work we have decided to keep it underwraps, we started the treatment in my last month of probation period. I also still want to progress in my career and am worried that if people know we are doing fertility treatment this could have a negative impact. But my boss was pretty good about all my appointments (to the docs!!) and for the egg collection I was given a sick note for the day.

I am starting to get tempted with the idea of testing earlier, I read that the HcG from the trigger shot stays in your body for 10 days and after that it’s gone… so in theory from tomorrow I could test!! But I also know if I get a negative that will be shit and May not mean anything… it’s also nice just pretending for now.

Hi @Germanlife ! Not long for you to go now! You have the same testing date as @thecatmama which is fab. I’m a little after you both aiming for the 10th….if I can’t hold out that long 😂.

I have my own business so my boss is pretty understanding 😉.

@thecatmama wow, I am so sorry, that sounds really painful. Let us know what the doc says tomorrow. Mine are not bad just weird. I’m quite enjoying the blissful ignorance of ‘not knowing’, at least then I can pretend.

When are you both due for af to show up?

according to my normal cycle my period should show up early next week, but I am not sure if the meds will delay this slightly! But as you said @Sezzza …. AF is not going to be showing up for the next months!!

How are you both getting on with your cramping? Hope it’s not too bad? I have had minor but nothing too much (although it is still worrying as I always associate cramping with my period!)

Hi girls! Hope you’re both doing ok in this dreaded TWW. I’ve had a couple of twinges today but nothing major. Got woken up with a bad tummy last night but I think that’s because I did my two pessary’s too close together.

How’s the cramps @thecatmama . Have you been to see the doc?

I had my first urge to test today but I know it’s way too early! I’m only 4dp5dt. Time seems to be dragging lol. @Germanlife are you 6dp now?

im getting on ok, had a couple of busy days which was great to keep my mind of things!

just three more sleeps now, until I test. I am officially 6dpt today and cannot wait until Monday.

i have not really had any symptoms the last days, also everything I may have could be due to the meds. so trying hard not to look into things too much.

how are you both getting on @Sezzza @thecatmama , I hope you are both ok?

Wow, only 3 more sleeps @Germanlife ! You have done so well not to test early.

I am also 6dp5dt today but will wait until next Thursday to test as I have the day off work. The further along I get the harder it is not to be tempted to test early 🙈.

Ive had twinges and some bad trapped wind 😆. The joys lol.

Hello @Sezzza @Germanlife ❤I’m not doing too well right now. I saw my dr on Wednesday and was diagnosed with late onset OHSS. The abdominal distension has since gotten worse. I’m struggling to stand/walk, keep liquids downs, have shortness of breath and barely urinating. Going in today for another follow-up.

How are you both?

@thecatmama i am so sorry to hear that your not doing well. You poor thing, I have my fingers crossed that you are starting to feel better soon.

@thecatmama oh my goodness, this is just awful for you. No wonder you have been struggling so much 😞. Lots of rest and self care ❤️

I had what felt like period pains last night. I am trying not to worry and of course googled it! Seems to be quite normal 🤔

@Sezzza i have had mild cramping since my transfer, same level as just before my period. I also googled it and this could be a sign of both positive and negative, so I have been trying not too speculate too much on my symptoms! (Easy said than done!) I have about 24hrs left until Inzest now… so feeling full of emotion, I feel like this will be the hardest part of the wait.

@thecatmama i hope you are ok, sending lots of positive thoughts.

Hi everyone I hope you don't mind me joining in. I am only 3dp3dt (fresh transfer, first cycle) so still 10 days to go until the test date (16th). Already a bag of nerves and have a feeling it's going to be a longggg 10 days!

Not long to go now @Germanlife !!! You have done so well to make it this far without caving into to early testing. I’ve also been having dull period like pains but mixed with a few shooting sensations. I woke up feeling quite negative this morning, like it hadn’t worked. I had to work really hard to pull myself out of that mindset.

I am now 8dp5dt and cannot stop eating 2 minute noodles 😂. It’s probably me just being greedy but I’m going to take is as something.

Have you all taken the day off for testing?

@Sezzza thank you ☺️ I’ve been fine so far, some dull cramping on and off today but half wondering if it’s a figment of my imagination. The egg collection was fine, I was only on 100iu stims but got 8 eggs, 4 fertilised and a 9 cell grade 1 was put in on day 3. Waiting for another update tomorrow but we should hopefully have 2 blasts to freeze 🤞🏼 I haven’t had many side effects throughout the treatment apart from sore boobs, tiredness and grumpiness from the trigger onwards. I did a test yesterday to see if the trigger was out of my system and it came up neg so it must be. I’ve been made to promise not to do another test until the official date! I keep having negative thoughts of these pains actually being period pains and finding it so hard to visualise a pos test as I’ve never had one! Keeping having to have a word with myself but I’ve found the process really hard from egg collection onwards frantically awaiting updates on their viability etc. I was fine before then really.

when is your test date @Sezzza? I am off on the day of mine but purely by coincidence

@maybebaby2023 i feel the same in regards to my imagination. I’ve actually written things down to prove I’m not mad 😂. When will you find out about embies for the freezer? It’s such a stressful process and I don’t think anything fully prepares you for it. My OTD is the 9th but I actually asked to push it back a day as I am off work. Probably the only person to do that lol. I’ve had moments of really wanting to test but there a bigger part of me that is enjoying the blissful ignorance. At least I can pretend. Have you planned anything nice for your test day?

how are you both getting on? The wait is just the worst i know. keeping everything crossed for you all.

As you know today was my test day and at 4.30 this morning with a pounding heart and shaking hand I found out that we got a positive result. I am feeling excited and pleased but will be happier after my first scan in two weeks time.

@Sezzza eeeek! not long at all for you to wait now. On our test date, OH is working in the afternoon so won't be able to do much.....unless I test 3 days early, we're both off then. It would be 13DPO then. We shall see. Do you have anything planned?

I had a weird feeling last night where it felt like a few stages before being sick. I became super aware of my mouth and had an odd feeling at the back of my throat but, again, I wondered if I was imagining it/causing myself to feel like that and I feel more normal than ever today, apart from tiredness. Had another 2 hr nap on the sofa this afternoon. If this test is negative then I'll have to go about being diagnosed as an amateur dramatic and total lazy bugger 😂

Omg @Germanlife !!! This is the best news ever!!!! A massive congratulations 🎉. You must be on cloud 9. You did so well to hold out for your OTD too. Isn’t it torture that you have to wait another two weeks! What symptoms have you had?

@maybebaby2023 have your clinic asked you to wait 13dpt before testing? That seems quite long. From what I have read, everywhere is different, some as early as 9dpt. I haven’t planned anything yet for ours but I will. I am having lots of shooting pains low down and like you, had a nap for the first time today on the sofa.
