@Janch13 Oh that's great! That is exactly what we are going for, I will book the tickets now! Thank you 😊

TheBeesKnee · 04/02/2023 19:48

Does anyone else have stretch marks yet?

I have them on my breasts all of a sudden, they haven't even grown that much 😭 nothing anywhere else yet.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 04/02/2023 20:19

@TheBeesKnee I dont quite have them yet but I have suspect darkening marks on underboob!

buuuka86 · 04/02/2023 23:12

Not yet. But my boobs haven't grown at all yet. The one pregnancy perk I was hoping to enjoy.. Anyone using anything to try to prevent stretch marks? I'm mixing Clarins cream with hyaluronic acid but I've heard it's all bull and most of us are gonna get them regarded of what we do. My midwife told me yo check with my.mum if she has them as apparently it that's a good indicator of what to expect.

wintersun21 · 04/02/2023 23:53

I've got stretch marks on my boobs which randomly appeared but my boobs grew at the start and the marks appeared a few weeks ago? Got a few on my waist now but I'm really tiny so I'm not at all shocked!

Gmmy0 · 05/02/2023 07:52

Hi! Is it still possible to join The Facebook group? Can someone share the link? EDD 30th May with #3! Thanks!

RainbowPhilosophy · 05/02/2023 13:51

Hi I'm due mid to end May (will be elective c section for medical reasons) so not sure exactly when they'll schedule me in yet, just that they don't like you to go overdue.

RugbyGirl1 · 05/02/2023 19:21

@TheBeesKnee nope no stretch marks yet. I am using bio oil and mama Mio oil once or twice a day but I don't anticipate them to work miracles. Boobs were already on the larger side but don't seem to have grown at all, thankfully!!

OptimusPrime31 · 05/02/2023 20:04

Omg! I wish my boobs would stay put. I got measured the other day. Before I was pregnant I was 34Dd. I'm now a 42G!! Apparently they haven't even finished growing yet!

raffika · 05/02/2023 20:40

I haven’t got stretch marks on my boobs but loads of little ones are appearing on my tummy, despite regular moisturising 😭 I’ve been using body butter but maybe I should try something oil based? It’s not the end of the world, but they look horrible.

How is everyone feeling in themselves? I’m 27 weeks, and for the last few days I’ve been getting to about 3 in the afternoon and feeling completely wiped out, even though I’m sleeping fairly well. I’ve got another 11-12 weeks of work, so hoping this is temporary!

RugbyGirl1 · 05/02/2023 21:17

@OptimusPrime31 I was dreading it, was 34G to begin with! My boobs seem to have got a bit fuller but not any larger, maybe they've just filled out 😂

@raffika I think if you're going to get them there is nothing you can do really to stop them, it mostly comes down to genetics it seems! Been feeling generally fine, bit on the tired side but not sleeping as well as I normally would

Janch13 · 05/02/2023 22:19

I haven’t got them yet (touch wood!) and also didn’t get them in my 1st pregnancy. I use the Clarins body tonic oil after bath/shower on my bump and boobs which has great reviews for preventing stretch marks but it but is on the spendy side.

Nuggsmuv · 05/02/2023 23:04

So my partner has just created a fb page for dads due in May 2023 (think he was feeling a bit left out 😅) if anyones partners are interested!!!

Leostratts · 06/02/2023 08:05

This is my second pregnancy and I got minor stretch marks round my hips, top sides of my thighs and around the front of my stomach above my pubic area, all light though. I haven’t noticed any new ones this time, maybe just darkening. My mum had big purple stretch marks over her tummy but I haven’t so must not have inherited that! I use the Rituals Tiny moisturiser (got for Christmas) but I used cocoa butter stretch mark cream last time. Not sure how much it actually helps as I’m sure stretch marks are hereditary and you either get them or you don’t. Although using creams etc probably reduce the look of them slightly? Who knows!

OptimusPrime31 · 06/02/2023 17:30

@Nuggsmuv thanks, I've shared the link with my partner

TheBeesKnee · 07/02/2023 23:41

Today Juniper (the baby's "name" because mummy loves gin 🙄😂 we can't actually agree on a name) has been kicking FEROCIOUSLY. I'll be 27 weeks tomorrow and this feels quite sudden/a shock as I've got an anterior placenta, and up until now I've felt what can be better described as flutters. Whereas today I even saw my top and stomach move!! Crazy.

raffika · 08/02/2023 03:46

@TheBeesKnee that it’s be so lovely, especially if you’ve not felt much!

I’m 27 weeks as well and my lodger is definitely moving more, and getting stronger - I got a kick yesterday which actually made me flinch!

AlwaysTryingToHelp · 09/02/2023 15:22

Just been for my 25 week midwife appointment, it was so lovely to hear the heartbeat!!

I also sorted out my maternity leave and holiday with work this week, it seems very strange to think I only have 10 weeks left at work before I finish!! 😳

TheBeesKnee · 09/02/2023 17:39

Ooooh how many weeks will you be when you go on leave?

I'm working until 38 weeks (so end April), then 2 weeks annual leave and then maternity leave. Time is absolutely flying by.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 09/02/2023 19:39

@AlwaysTryingToHelp I'm a bit jealous! Our trust doesn't do them so still waiting 2 more weeks (till 28wk)

OptimusPrime31 · 09/02/2023 22:30

I'm thinking of going to the Manchester baby show. Has anyone been to one before? Are they worth the £16pp entry fee?

AlwaysTryingToHelp · 10/02/2023 15:07

@TheBeesKnee I will be 35 and a half weeks when I finish! I have 4 weeks annual leave which I have to use before I go (as I won't be working again this year) then I will go on maternity leave! Time is certainly flying, it is unbelievable how fast everything has come around!

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl I was surprised my trust did to be honest, my midwife did have to use a different doppler half way through as she couldn't get the heartbeat clearly enough, which was a worrying few minutes but luckily it was just the machine! Only 2 weeks to wait :)

@OptimusPrime31 I have booked tickets for the Baby show but at the Excel Centre in London. I did have an email through yesterday with some sort of valentines promotion on tickets, so it may be worth signing up to their emails.

RugbyGirl1 · 10/02/2023 15:36

Is anyone else planning to stay working as long as they possibly can, right up until due date if baby allows? I can take all my unused leave from this year and add it to the end of mat leave next year which is what I'm hoping to do

AlwaysTryingToHelp · 10/02/2023 15:39

@RugbyGirl1 Wish I was allowed to do this, I did ask but I was told it all my annual leave had to be taken this year before I finish, otherwise I would have done the same and worked up until the 15th with my due date being the 20th!

EllieJayneB · 10/02/2023 15:42

@RugbyGirl1 I'm working up until the 28th April with maternity leave starting 2nd May (due 10th May) but because we are only a small business, my boss said that she didn't want me to use any holiday this side of maternity leave so I'll have 44 days to take next year.

I've actually drafted a letter to confirm this as well so it can't be revoked down the line as I've heard of people get bitten by this before!
