9 weeks pregnancy symptoms gone

Hi,
I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant and I started getting symptoms of nausea, sore boobs, the usuals etc around week 6. I also have started having some mild lower belly/pelvis cramps in the last week, all of which midwife has said it completely normal. We had a private scan at 8 weeks and everything was ok and we saw the heartbeat.

However I am worrying because in the last few days, I've noticed I am not feeling as sick anymore. I was never actually sick but the nausea was pretty constant from morning till afternoon and was much worse when I got hungry. I was having to snack almost constantly to stop being sick.
Although I am glad to not be feeling as bad, I am really worried this isn't a good sign and something may have happened to the baby.

My hormones have been crazy today (I read they usually peak at week 9) and I have not been able to stop crying.
I wish I knew how to reassure myself that everything is ok. Do you think the symptoms suddenly stopping is normal? I know they usually ease up towards the end of the first trimester but I wasn't expecting it to fade so quickly. Or maybe they'll come back?
Anyway just looking for words of reassurance.

We were hoping to tell a few family members this week as I've had quite bad anxiety keeping it all a secret but I'm worried I shouldn't now as something may be wrong.

Thanks in advance xxx

Mine did that at 8+4 and all disappeared. I was convinced it was over, had a scan and it was ok in that moment. The symptoms returned again at 9+4. I don’t know why. I’m 11+5 and I have no idea how it’s going.

If you're really past yourself worried ring your fetal assessment unit and they will bring you in for (likely an internal) early scan. We had to go up a number of times due to bleeding etc and they were just so lovely and really reassuring I wouldn't hesitate to contact them in future if I was worried they never made us feel like we were wasting their time and took us really seriously. Hopefully you're just lucky and are coming out of the bokey stage early though... mine lasted 5 months but tbh it was almost a blessing after all the scares at the start we had, was almost reassuring things were continuing but there's no reason to panic from what you've said so far. But give them a bell honestly hopefully they can put your mind at ease.

Well I absolutely spoke too soon!
The worst nausea hit today around late morning and nothing has tamed it at all since Confused but I can't complain because I was worried I suppose!

Hopefully it starts to fade out in coming weeks anyway.

Thanks for being so reassuring guys. I assume that symptoms can come and go and maybe it's just the way my body is at the moment!

@daisychains76 I'm 7 weeks and my nausea and sore boobs have just vanished today.
I'm so pleased to hear yours is back (in a good way) I hope I am the same 🤞🏼
This is probably the most anxious wait of my life even though I went for a private scan on Saturday morning and was told all is fine.

I wish you a healthy pregnancy 💜xx

I feel exactly the same and the scan helped loads but I think you're always worrying about the next thing aren't you?

I really hope everything goes well for you :)

Sending lots of positivity and love xxx

@daisychains76 I would normally be so laid back, but my anxiety is something else at present, I'm wishing for all the symptoms so I know baby is ok. I'm putting it down to having a loss last summer.

That's it positive vibes and talking on here tends to put your mind at ease 💜Xx

Hi, the same happened to me around 9 weeks!! Bad, constant nausea just went for a few days and my boobs were less sore...freaked out but then the nausea returned with a vengeance! Am now 13+1 and all is well, nausea completely went around 11 weeks!
Symptoms definitely come and go and they do start to wane as you reach the end of 1st trimester. I'm glad for you that the nausea has come back (in the nicest way haha) and wish you all the best! xx

Am I pregnant?

Okay so my periods were supposed to come on Sunday I had never been early nor late in my periods journey, so my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex on Saturday and finished inside could I be pregnant?

elm26 · 25/10/2022 11:26

I'm in the same boat, I'm 9 weeks pregnant after lots of miscarriages.

From 7-8 weeks I had sickness and nausea, I even ended up in hospital on a drip as couldn't keep fluid down.

It seems to have eased up almost immediately after my 8 week scan and apart from having spotty skin which is unusual for me and feeling exhausted, I wouldn't know I was pregnant now.

I'm petrified as my next scan is now the 12 weeks one in November and I don't know if I can put myself through a private one next week (10 weeks). I feel so awful, anxious, panicky and terrible when I'm waiting to go into the scan room.

Hope mine comes back at some point too, wishing you all a healthy and happy rest of your pregnancies xxx

I would be surprised if you got pregnant literally the day before you were due because of how ovulation works and the point in your cycle etc but I'm no expert. Possibly stress or being unwell could have delayed it?
I would say do a test if you haven't already and go from there :)

I'm really sorry you've had a hard time with miscarriages.

I think the waiting is the absolute worst bit about the first trimester (then all the feeling crap) My anxiety has been awful so I'm very sympathetic to you too and I really hope things get easier for you.
Sending lots of love and positivity for a healthy pregnancy :)
Good luck with your future scans xxx

@elm26 this is exactly me
I'm sitting here in work not able to concentrate because I have no real symptoms other than tiredness and few twinges in lower abdomen. The twinges are also making me afraid to go to the bathroom 😭
Last week I was riddled with nausea and I just want it back so much 🙈
I have my 12 week scan 30th November and I'm just terrified at what I am going to be told.

I wish you all the luck for a healthy pregnancy xx

@daisychains76 it's so horrible, the anxiety is crippling. How are you doing? X

elm26 · 27/10/2022 16:46

@GingerbreadTM bless you, it is so so hard. How are you feeling? My nausea has come back, woke up gagging at 5am! I've got backache and a heavy feeling in my stomach today which is worrying me. Xx

Hi thanks for checking in.
I've had a better day today but yesterday was hard. I met friends for lunch and I felt so on edge, I just ending up caving and telling them. Nausea has very much come and gone since my last post. I seem to alternate between a day of having it bad and then a bit better the next day. I think I feel it more when I'm particularly anxious though or if I'm out of the house. I'm a teacher on half term at the moment so I think it's not helped being by myself a lot as the thoughts spiral.

Hoping I get the date for my 12 week scan soon just so I have something to work towards.

How is everyone else doing? Xxx

I’m Sorry I didn’t mean to add this here. New to this and thought I was creating my own thread. Sorry!

elm26 · 27/10/2022 17:16

@daisychains76 I've told a couple of my close friends too. It seems less of a big weight when you have some extra support. I hope you've managed to rest a little although you've found it hard to be alone with your thoughts. I'm terrible when I get into bed so I've loaded my kindle up with lots of books to help distract me xx

elm26 · 27/10/2022 17:17

@Leelee12333 Hello! I saw your message before it was removed. I had some spotting, smears of blood when I wiped from 4-6 weeks. It can be normal but please get checked out anyway 💛 wishing you all the best xx

Leelee12333 · 27/10/2022 17:19

Thankyou for replying! Really appreciate it x

I’m not pregnant but came across this thread and was reminded of how I felt during my first trimester last year. I found the symptoms side of things hard because sometimes they would be stronger than others and I’d be checking myself for them all the time as well, the anxiety was unreal. I’d be sat there trying to work out how sick or not sick I’d been feeling the same time the day before. I learned to think of it as ebbing and flowing as the hormones ebbed and flowed.

All turned out okay, she’ll be 1 two weeks today. Pregnancy can be a really difficult time, especially if you’re anxious about it. I asked for a referral to the perinatal mental health midwives because it was so bad. I think the thing that’s stuck with me is that I didn’t know what my body could do until it did it.

GingerbreadTM · 28/10/2022 22:22

I hope everyone is ok ☺️

I'm in bed from 8pm feeling sorry for myself because I'm down with my third cold since end of September 🤧😷
I have a bit of a niggle in my boobs and a slight wave of nausea at times but not constant like last week, maybe to do with the cold 🤷🏻‍♀️
I'll be 8 weeks on Tuesday so each week is a mini celebration for me right now.
Has anyone received their booking appointment date yet? I've got mine for 30/11/22, anxiety through the roof now 😣xx

I'm sure all the 'little' signs are still really good news :) I'm sorry you've got a cold, make sure you really rest and look after yourself! Your body is working extra hard right now.

I've had my booking appointment yes. Don't worry at all, I was a bit nervous but it was honestly just going through a massive booklet of questions about your medical history, good relationship, alcohol/smoking etc. it was fine and a nice chance to chat through any worries or questions you had. There's literally no question that's too silly so please don't be afraid to ask. Your midwife will also ask about your anxiety/mental health so please open up and be honest cause she gave me a load of advice moving forward on extra support I can access if I wanted to.

I'm still waiting on my scan date and I've been told it could be anywhere between 12 and 14 weeks as there's a bit delay in maternity services here which is a shame. I just want to see baby again and check it's ok, especially as we've told a few family members.

I feel a bit more at peace about the symptoms coming and going now. Try and remember some people literally have no symptoms the whole time so variety and change every day is also very normal I'm sure. I've had a lot less of the constant nausea the last few days and it seems to come on more around normal times of getting hungry e.g mealtimes.

Please look after yourself and remember how well you're doing. I absolutely take my hat off to all pregnant women now doing this for the first time. I think this first trimester is so difficult (I'm sure others are very hard too!) but for me personally, I've found it a real mental and physical battle. 10 weeks today so starting to see the light at the end of tunnel. Fingers crossed everthung will be ok xxx
