julez - so sorry to hear your news, take it easy and take some time to yourself and hopefully we will see you back on here soon in the future x

kate2179 · 08/02/2008 17:25

Julez so sorry to hear your news. Take care xx

Thank you everyone so mch for your messages, especially to jules for posting those links. Feeling a bit better today, possibly cos the sun has been shining (how fickle am I??!?!?) Ready to just take it one day at a time but at the moment trying to stay convinced that our little fighter, having made it this far and with a good heartbeat, will carry on strong. Wish me luck!

Off to see my friend who had her baby yesterday, am soooooooo excited!! Hope everyone has a peaceful and uneventful weekend (in a good way!)

DonDons · 08/02/2008 17:56

feedmenow · 08/02/2008 18:24

sorry Jukezboo for what you're going through

Makecakes - now you can go shopping!

I've been given a scan for monday afternoon when i'll be 7+1 (hopefully), so I'm hoping for good news then. Still no symptoms to speak of, though it's a bit painful bf dd now.

Kate - can't believe your GP. No one can tell for sure what's going to happen, but you have to have some optimism and hope, and the statistics show more than 1 mc is not common, and once you've seen the hb chance of survival improves greatly. That's what she should have said!

spugs · 09/02/2008 10:11

jules - im so sorry hun

makecakes - congrats on finding out its a girl im having my 3 rd girl and there lovely. your friends have very good taste in names, thats what my dd2s called

jules - bikini line i cant see mine any more im pressuming it missing in action. luckily my leg hair seems to have stopped growing but i havent got a clue how im going to sort out 'down there'

got shock on the scales last night, im the same weight now at (almost) 34 weeks as i was at term with dd1. knew id been over doing it on the creme eggs

kate2179 · 09/02/2008 11:46

Thanks splishsplosh - totally agree with you! Keeping everything crossed for the best news for you on monday!

spugs scales are clearly broken. Throw them away immediately. And don't bother buying new ones, cos there are a lot of broken lying scales out there (in denial? me?)

Very mixed emotions today, so wonderful to see my friend and her beautiful daughter last night, and they asked me to be godmother ! Then had a phonecall from another friend this morning to say she's 13 weeks pg with her 2nd, it's her dd's 1st birthday today. Obviously very pleased for her, but you all know how the mixture of emotions goes on such occasions...

splishsplosh · 09/02/2008 20:25

You're welcome Kate - when are you going to brave the September thread?

You're right about the scales too - evil things. I prefer to go by how tight my (elasticated) waistbands feel

EllieG · 10/02/2008 11:34

Hey all -

kate - go easy on yourself hon OK - you sound like a lovely friend but remember you and your beanie are your first priority now and is only natural to feel a leeetle bit weird about the whole PG thing when you see other people sailing through it. Don't do more for people than you can IYKWIM?

Plus you are SO right on the scales thing. Mine have been lying since day 1 of PG I think. Maybe the hormones affected them.

julez - so sorry for what you are going through

feedmenow · 10/02/2008 16:36

I laugh in the face of scales!! I weighed more before conception this time than I did when full tern with ds! I like to think I was obviously just too skinny before (but I think I'd just be fooling myself!).

My mum and dad have what we call "Magic Scales" at their house. You weight yourself and they'll say one thing, then you get off and get back on again and you could weight a completely different amount. The good thing is, they always lie in your favour! I saw the new year in weighing just over 8 stone at 29 weeks pg according to them....I was VERY pleased!

Spugs, I desperately need to get my bikini line sorted in the next few weeks as I am off to the spa again at the beginning of March for what will probably be a final pampering before D-Day. I think the beautician will charge me double for the amount of wax and strips she'll need to use

spugs · 10/02/2008 16:42

dont think i can face wax! ouch, might get the immac out!

DonDons · 10/02/2008 18:01

spugs noooooooooooooo! immac is on the banned list when prego or so I was told. I'm totally in denial about my bikin line. I can't see it anymore so as far as I am concerned it does not exist.

am going psycho this weekend, Had 3 day row with DH coz I want to decorate nursery (whiich is currently his study) and he is not ready to move out yet. normal or no?

also, am tired of crampy legs, being generally mahoosive and being in contact state of worry....sorry to moan and I really am grateful for being pregnant....like I said, I am just having a few mad days where I forget how lucky I am.

DonDons · 10/02/2008 18:02

constant not contact. god.... can't even communicate now either

EllieG · 10/02/2008 19:17

poor dondons - welcome to my world. Had HUGE row with DP yesterday over him sneaking a fag (I know, I know, not exactly the crime of the century) and various other things. Blame it on the hormones darlin' - we have a get out of jail free card for all irrationality at moment so use it!

Fret not honey, this will pass. And you will get your nursery done. Had a 'discussion' with DP last week about the very same issue. We will win.

makecakesnotwar · 11/02/2008 09:48

Ooo- I'm so gla dyou are having this chat about hair removal...I brought it up on my ante-natal chat and I think I shocked a lot of people. Am I strange to not like hair 'down there'....I've always shaved, but can't really see what I am doing and am considerring waxing. Most advice has been that I shouldn't try it pregnant if I have't tried it before.

Morning all, and sympathies about DH. Mine has banned me from buying anyting pink. Seriously.

EllieG · 11/02/2008 10:07

I can't see to shave either - always used to wax but ingrowing hairs became a problem. Is bit tricky now cos can't really see what's going on down there and is bit guess worky!

spugs · 11/02/2008 10:15

ive waxed before but found it very painful, may have to get the razor and a mirror out! either that or get one of those clipper things. don dons, feel free to complain, i do lots and im also hugly grateful to be preggers i also nearly killed dh over redecorating of dd2s room (also nursery) but that was more because hes not very interested though he is beginning to realsie that being huge is not a walk in the park and being extra nice. were going to get a baby names book in a bit as we still cant decide!

spugs · 11/02/2008 10:28
