Missed miscarriage symptoms?

Hi all. I'm currently 5 weeks 3 days and absolutely terrified of having a miscarriage. Last week I had light cramping, my boobs were so sore I could barely touch them and I felt queasy. The last few days I've had hardly any of those symptoms, only my nipples are a bit tender and I haven't really felt sick. I haven't had any bleeding or spotting, but could this be a missed miscarriage? Can you please share your symptoms if you've had one please 😔 I'm a bit obsessed as my last pregnancy was a chemical. I have an early scan next Thursday.

I had a missed one at 10 weeks, the baby stopped growing 2 weeks before. I still had pregnancy symptoms until the day I started bleeding. In my current pregnancy I had fluctuating symptoms too OP, and not much at all at 5-6 weeks - I was still sticking to my hard pre-pregnancy exercise routine and googling the lack of nausea, but then at 7 weeks felt like I was hit by a bus - all day nausea, exhaustion etc for the next month or two. You are still very early for strong symptoms, give it some time. Hope your scan goes well - totally understand the anxiety but fingers crossed for you x

I had ivf and conceived at the first attempt. I had very little symptoms apart from extreme tiredness and slightly sore breasts. The tiredness was that bad I was sleeping in the car on my lunch breaks. I was due an 8 weeks scan and cried going in as the symptoms had completely stopped about a week before. There was no bleeding/spotting or cramps. Unfortunately the nurse scanning told me the heartbeat had stopped the week before my scan about the same time my symptoms had stopped.
Your early in the pregnancy so it might be too soon to spot any symptoms. Wishing you all the best with your pregnancy x

Hi @Martha23 sorry to hear you had a chemical ❤️.

I’m 5 weeks 4 days today, so the same as you and I literally could have written your post. I’ve had cramping and sore boobs and although I’ve not felt sick I’ve definitely been a bit off food but it all seems to have stopped. I’m also worrying loads but I keep telling myself it’s still very early and most people I have spoken too haven’t had any symptoms until week 6/7 , that seems to be when it really starts. I’m just trying to enjoy feeling ok this week and hoping for the best, I can totally understand why you’re more worried when you’ve had a previous chemical. I have an early scan too, mines on the 4th October . It’s a really weird situation when you want to feel ill to make sure you’re still pregnant . Hoping everything goes well for you. X

I've had 2 MMC and I'm sorry to say there is no way to tell from symptoms. I still had all my pregnancy symptoms I only found out at a scan.

ClaryFairchild · 22/09/2022 11:06

I had absolutely no symptoms at all so was very shocked at the 12 week scan.

Lunaviola · 22/09/2022 11:45

The first time I had a mmc, I have lost symptoms at 8 weeks and a week later during scan, there was no heartbeat. The second time I had symptoms all the time and at my 10 week scan there wasn't a heartbeat again.
The first time I had very small light brown jelly discharge for 3 days and the second time nothing.
A very important thing, as well is that every pregnancy is different and symptoms come and go and usually there's nothing to worry about.

This was exactly the same both both of mine too. I had no idea either time.

northerngal20 · 22/09/2022 12:05

with mine i had really dark brown spotting for over a week before it was spotted during a scan. however the following pregnancy (which was successful) i also spotted brown throughout the first trimester and was sure it was happening again. both times i had the same, very mild, nausea. so it just goes to show you really can't know either way unless you have a scan.

The only loss of symptom for me was my boobs didn't feel as sore. If I pressed them they did but that was it. I still had every other symptom. I also found out on my scan that I'd had a MMC

Veryxonfused · 22/09/2022 17:55

My first pregnancy was a MMC and the main red flag I had was brown spotting. It was extremely light (only on wiping) but I would just randomly get it on and off. Also I never really had sore boobs but I did have sickness.

Most people only really start feeling sick around 6 weeks so don’t worry

Amijustagrump · 22/09/2022 19:15

I think I might be the same, with DS I was so sick, this time I don't feel pregnant at all aside from a bit tired! I had a scan on Monday at 7+3 and baby was still there but I'm not getting too excited yet

Mine was like this too 😢

There's no symptoms of a missed miscarriage, that's the whole reason it's called that.

lifehappens12 · 22/09/2022 23:39

As others said - I didn't have any symptoms with my missed miscarriage. With my next pregnancy I mentioned how anxious I was to my midwife and she said unless you have a definitive negative sign - ie bleeding you have to assume everything is ok.

OttilieKnackered · 22/09/2022 23:48

My MMC (in hindsight) I was very low on symptoms throughout. Scan showed no heartbeat and only then did I notice very very faint coffee-grounds type discharge.

This time (11+4) I’ve been very very nauseous from 6 weeks onward (starting to ease now). Had a healthy scan at 8 weeks. Obviously no guarantee of a good outcome still but in my case so far the pregnancies have felt totally different.

Martha23 · 23/09/2022 13:43

I am so sorry to hear about all of your losses 💔 and thank you for sharing.
Today I am 5+5 (hopefully) and my previous symptoms haven’t come back yet. My boobs feels completely normal and I don’t feel sick at all. I’m really hoping it’s not the worst but will have to wait until Thursday to find out.
Thank you again everyone x

Thank you @MariaMc1 ❤️ how are you feeling now? I am counting down the days until my scan! X

My first pregnancy was a MMC and I found out at the 12 week scan. I knew it was going to be bad news though because I'd lost my pregnancy symptoms - which had only been mild to begin with.

I wouldn't be concerned about not feeling nauseous though. I had no sickness at all with either of my two successful pregnancies. You're probably hyper-alert to the possibility of a MMC because of your previous loss.

I hope the scan next Thursday brings you good news. The time between today and Thursday will seem to drag and drag, but try not to worry if you possibly can.

Chanel05 · 23/09/2022 15:49

I had a mmc in 2019 and I only found out at a scan. I still had all my same symptoms.

solosunflower · 23/09/2022 19:36

I'm really concerned about this too. I had a private scan at 10 weeks, heartbeat strong, but since then my symptoms have completely gone, other than still needing to wee all the time.

I won't have another scan until a week on Wednesday.

Bun14 · 24/09/2022 21:02

I'm terrified this is happening to me.
For those of you who have sadly had a mmc, how long was it until the lines on pregnancy tests started to fade and then turn negative?

solosunflower · 24/09/2022 21:17

How many weeks are you?

Bun14 · 24/09/2022 22:01

Nearly 7 weeks.

This is quite normal at that stage, something to do with the placenta taking over. Good luck.

solosunflower · 24/09/2022 22:12

@Wanda616 Thank you. The midwife did say something similar. I think with it being such a shock that I'm actually pregnant, my mind is looking for things that could go wrong.
