Hi everyone, has anyone else had a BFP recently? Would be great to share our journeys together. This will be my first baby, after nearly 2 years of infertility I’m very excited to have graduated onto the pregnancy board.
The online calculator is saying I’ll be due on the 21st May 2023. Still can’t quite believe it I’ve been testing everyday since to check it’s real 😂.

Looking forward to hearing from others. X

I had mine yesterday, congratulations OP!

we have been TTC #2 since Jan 2021 with a miscarriage in March this year. I’ll probably book an early scan this time to check all is okay.

best of luck x

purplemama1990 · 14/09/2022 17:12

Congratulations @MariaMc1 @Teacaketotty! I just got my BFP yesterday for my second baby, due on 27th May hopefully! I'm really excited, but I don't think I'm as excited this time round as I was the first... I think it's because I had an awful first trimester last time and I'm just waiting for the constant nausea and exhaustion to kick in...

CDR520 · 14/09/2022 18:00

Very similar - 5 weeks + 1! My tentative due date is May 16th after TTC for over a year with our first. Quite nervous here wondering how bad the sickness is going to be as I do have a bit of emetophobia!

HoneyPea · 14/09/2022 18:19

Hi all, hope everyone is ok?
I got a BFP yesterday due date 26th May. Baby #2 hopefully after the late loss at 18weeks of my little girl in Jan and a chemical in July when we started trying again. Had HG with #1 which lasted until he was born and have been sick once already this time round (AF due on Fri!) Feeling very nervous being pregnant again!

blueeyed92 · 14/09/2022 21:17

Hello all, jumping in here if that’s ok! Congratulations all! When do you guys count as a BFP… when clear blue says it or when your period doesn’t come? I’ve got positive Frer’s and easy@home hcg’s and they are getting stronger by the day…

many thanks all xx

purplemama1990 · 15/09/2022 08:20

congratulations all! Looks like I'm not the only one nervous this time around, it's so much easier going into pregnancy not knowing about the bad parts.😆On a positive note, I know it's still super early days but I'm looking forward to the scans and when baby starts moving etc!

@blueeyed92 I would count it from when you first got a positive test! Your positive frers and easy@home tests count :)

blueeyed92 · 15/09/2022 08:30

@purplemama1990 ahhh eeek ok! I’m trying to not get too excited, this is my first positive and what is meant to be will be. Sending you all lots of luck on your journey 💫

MariaMc1 · 15/09/2022 09:17

Congratulations everyone!!

@purplemama1990 oh noo really! What week did it kick in last time? Fingers crossed it’s not as bad.

@CDR520 congratulations! Ah you’re not alone so do I, it’s the only thing I can think about at the moment which is stressful. I’m just hoping it doesn’t last long when it turns up. It is a nerve wracking time for lots of reasons x

@HoneyPea congratulations and sorry to hear about your losses it sounds like you’ve had a tough time.

Does anyone have an early scan booked?

OP posts:
blueeyed92 · 15/09/2022 10:22

Guys… it’s happened, now I am testing early and my period is due Monday. Sorry for all of the questions, when should I initiate contact with the GP? A couple of days after my period is due?
Frer lines are obvious and getting darker but aren’t at the depth of the control like yet. Thanks all! xx

isocrazy · 15/09/2022 10:35

Jumping in here too!
Have been trying to get pregnant for the last year, PCOS and endometriosis, just had surgery for endo 7 weeks ago and got my BFP last week! Expected due date 20th May. Excited but nervous after previous MC! Congratulations to you all Smile

Mummybearto3bg · 15/09/2022 10:40

Congratulations 🌸 my predicted due date is also 21st May! This would be baby number 4 for me.

Babydust82 · 15/09/2022 11:30

Hi Everyone, I got my BFP last week and nhs site says I’m due 20th May. There is a babies due in May 2023 Facebook group which is quite good for everyone to share their updates. If you search in birthday clubs on here you should be able to find a link to it as it’s only the admin that can post

MariaMc1 · 15/09/2022 11:52

@blueeyed92 I’m not sure either when to contact the GP! I’m sure someone will be able to tell us !

@Mummybearto3bg oh wow congrats on your 4th baby, how lovely!!

@isocrazy congratulations ! I had endo surgery last December, so amazing how quickly you’ve got your BFP after yours!!

@Babydust82 ah that’s fab, thanks I’ll look to join that too. None of my friends have babies yet so nice to share the journey with others in the same position.

@MariaMc1 @blueeyed92 I skipped my GP and filled in the online form for an appointment with my local hospital midwife because I saw that’s what was advised on a lot of threads. Received my first midwife appointment through already for 10th October 🤗

purplemama1990 · 15/09/2022 15:49

@MariaMc1 Last time the nausea and exhaustion kicked in around 5 / 6 weeks I think, and I remember I just felt so awful until it started to ease up around 13 / 14 weeks!

You're advised to contact the GP as soon as you find out you're pregnant so that they can get you in for your booking appointment around 8 weeks. But I'm waiting until next week when my period will be late (It's due on Saturday). My local trust also have a self referral form you can fill out like @Babydust82 says, but ours isn't an online form. Have to print it and take it in to the midwives or GP who can pass it on for you, that's what I did last time.

sassyp83 · 15/09/2022 19:26

Hi I'm so new to all this, found out a week ago at an appt to start ivf that I was 5 weeks. I'm 6 weeks today. Advice please, how does anyone cope with the anxiety around miscarrying? I feel like time is standing still until our 12 week scan when we'll know if everything's ok... I'm driving myself nuts and having to keep myself really busy. I'm 38 and this is our first baby

MariaMc1 · 16/09/2022 08:04

@Babydust82 @purplemama1990 thanks ladies, after some online digging I’ve found a number that it says to call so I’m going to try that this morning.

@sassyp83 congratulations on your pregnancy. I have an early scan booked at 7 weeks to check everything is progressing ok, is that an option for you? Ours is part of our IVF but I know you can book them privately too. It might help to reassure you a bit.

5+3 today and the nausea has hit me something fierce. Been struggling today at work. Anyone have any suggestions that may help?

MariaMc1 · 16/09/2022 15:33

aww no sorry to hear that @CDR520
I’ve heard eating little and often can help and not letting your stomach get empty. Although I imagine you don’t feel like eating much when you’re feeling nauseous.

I'll join you lovely ladies if that's okay!
I got my BFP on Monday, due date 20th May. This my 2nd but OH's 1st and we've been trying for 6 months. My DD is 6 years old and she is so excited to be a big sister🥰 how is everyone feeling? Xx

devonmum8 · 17/09/2022 07:53

Joining in! I'm 5+5 today with baby 2. Quite nervous as I had a chemical in July which totally blindsided me. This one seems to be sticking for longer, more symptoms and stronger tests although my POAS is becoming far too obsessive 😬

purplemama1990 · 20/09/2022 17:05

@CDR520 sorry to hear you are feel sick! Definitely, eat small and often. Salty snacks and fruit seemed to work best for me last time.

MariaMc1 · 21/09/2022 12:41

How is everyone doing? Does anyone have any symptoms yet? I called up yesterday to make my midwife referral which made it feel quite a bit more real.

@lk2812 Congratulations! My due date is the 21st. How lovely your dd is so excited to be a big sister, 6 is a great age to be a big sister. Hope you’re feeling ok?

@devonmum8 sorry to hear about your chemical that must have been hard for you. Wishing you the best for this pregnancy.
