@EMcG3 its my first baby and I’m only 7 and a half stone so my bloat and boobs are really obvious. I only buy second hand clothes so I’ve been buying some looser clothes off vinted. So much money saved.

ive bought some jeggings and elasticated waist clothes for now and the second trimester. It’s also hard to dress the same so people don’t click I’m dressing differently.

then i will buy some clothes for a massive bump ready for the third trimester.

Hi does anyone have any tips for constipation 🙈 im really struggling with it right now hahaha

TeddyBeans · 03/09/2022 13:08

@Rainbowbaby23 lactulose worked for me after I had DS. Not sure if it's suitable for use in pregnancy though

Peacemaking in the new thread :)

LittleAcorn20 · 03/09/2022 14:39

@Rainbowbaby23 lactulose helps me and is safe during pregnancy.
Used it last time and using it this time.
It's such an awful symptom!

laurenfeelingsick · 03/09/2022 14:52

Hi everyone. First pregnancy here, currently 14 weeks. Wondering if anyone else is suffering badly with sciatica atm? Today has been brutal. Have attended physio and doing exercises, but seems just as bad. Attending physio again on Wednesday.

allthingssparkly · 03/09/2022 15:33

I second Lactulose, it really helps I'm having to take it this pregnancy. Nothing worse than constipation @Rainbowbaby23 😩😩

allthingssparkly · 03/09/2022 15:34

Has anyone booked in for a private gender scan? I don't know whether to or just be patient and wait the whole 44 days until my NHS 20 week one to hopefully find out then if baby is playing ball 🙈🙈

TeddyBeans · 03/09/2022 15:56

@allthingssparkly you could wait but if you're desperate to know then they don't play ball you'll spend that money anyway. We had ours at 16 weeks last time and asked the sonographer to confirm at 20 weeks so had double the reassurance that he was definitely a boy. Our gender scan is booked for 17th, I want DS to find out with us so that was another motivation for me to book a private one this time

@laurenfeelingsick 🙋hi! I've not had sciatica but lots of aches and pains in my back and hips. Hopefully the physio helps once you've attended a few. I think it's a case of taking it easy and resting a lot

Very desperate to know @TeddyBeans 🤣 my partner keeps telling me to be patient and wait 🤭🤭

How many weeks will you be when you go for your gender scan?

TeddyBeans · 03/09/2022 16:07

@allthingssparkly 16+6. My 20 week scan is 13th October, almost a month later. Well justified in my eyes. I like to have things prepared waaaaay in advance

Hi everyone! Posting in the group for the first time.
Hope everyone’s feeling well! Some days I feel exhausted and sick and others feel like I’ve imagined the whole thing and ‘is this definitely happening?!’.
Baby no. 2 here and also in the difficult can’t fit into any normal clothes but maternity trousers falling down a bit! 14.5 today so hoping to feel more energetic soon.
When are people going to tell their work? I’m feeling anxious about it especially as I had some bleeding whilst on holiday last week and even though I went to a hospital to get checked out and they said all ok, when I got home my midwife said the report wasn’t what she’d expect to see! Waiting for another NHS scan tomorrow 🤞🏻

Ubbee · 03/09/2022 16:13

We went for a private early scan but will wait for the 20wk one for gender. You should definitely do it if you fancy it and can afford! 🙂

TeddyBeans · 03/09/2022 16:14

@Ubbee hey! I've told work already in case they need to do risk assessments and stuff for me (I work in a preschool) 15 weeks tomorrow. Hope your scan is helpful tomorrow, did the midwife say what was unexpected about the report?

OP posts:
Ubbee · 03/09/2022 16:22

@TeddyBeans no she was annoyingly vague! Hoping she’s just saying to go in as she can’t be sure what it says… they did scan me and I heard heartbeat and haven’t had anymore bleeding since. I think I’ll tell work after this if everything ok, hate having secrets!

allthingssparkly · 03/09/2022 16:39

If I'm going to book, I will do it for around a similar time between 16 and 17 weeks. My 20 week scan isn't until 17th October 🙈🙈 and I'm the same, I like to be prepared but also @TeddyBeans 😬😬

Dreamingof3 · 03/09/2022 16:42

@allthingssparkly were booking a gender scan, I'd like for our girls to come to a scan and obviously they aren't allowed at NHS ones. Not sure yet if we'll find out during the scan or do something after (although it'll just be for us, we will probably film for our parents etc)

allthingssparkly · 03/09/2022 16:50

Yeah that's a point @Dreamingof3, I forget children can't come to the NHS ones. I want to be able to surprise my boys when I find out whether baby is a girl or boy, not sussed out what I'm going to do yet 🤔 I'd love to do one of the reveal cannons! 🎉

Eastybaby19 · 03/09/2022 16:58

I've a private gender scan booked for 18th. Can't wait!!

Dreamingof3 · 03/09/2022 17:08

@allthingssparkly I'm just waiting for my 12 week scan next week to get accurate dates then I'll look at booking it. The one near me does from 15 weeks so I think i might go jjst shy of 16 weeks so i feel like theres enough time between that and the 20 week scan to justify it 🤣

Babynum2 · 03/09/2022 17:19

I find private scans much more detailed, intimate ect. You can take more people and kids too both mine are coming.

TeddyBeans · 03/09/2022 17:26

We're taking my son, my mum and my parents mum and a dad to our gender scan. Just because we can 😂

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 03/09/2022 17:26

Partner's mum and dad * 🤦‍♀️

OP posts:
allthingssparkly · 03/09/2022 17:27

Ahh that makes sense @Dreamingof3 😊 Yes I think near me they can do gender scans from 15 weeks, I know there's one that does them from 14 weeks but I don't think I'd go so early I'd be nervous of the result not being accurate 🙈🙈 I think 16-17 weeks seems like the best time 😊

I hope your scan goes well 🤍

@Babynum2 Yes I totally agree with this, even when I had my private scan at 8 weeks this time and a gender scan with one of my boys, it does seem much more relaxed and not as rushed.
