Well I got moved forward which I wasn't expecting! 13+2 now and dd 19th March!

Booked my gender scan for 1st October 🎊 what do we think?

Same due date as me 🥰 Baby will come around a week early for me though as having an elective csection as had a haemorrhage and other complications with my first!

havanamama · 13/09/2022 17:23

Is there anything that’s not pregnancy safe you guys miss and can’t wait to have/use again?

I'm dreaming to a beef tartar, raw salmon sushi 🍣 mmm !! And my fave niacinamide face cream😄

I thought niamacide was ok in pregnancy? Just not retinol/retinoids?

havanamama · 13/09/2022 18:42

@hellosunshineagainxxx i read somewhere to use with caution, so I’m avoiding it, switched to hyaluronic acids instead, but I could be wrong, as I don’t tend to investigate more - if somewhere says it’s a bit of a red flag, then I’m rather safe than sorry 😄

Cdoc · 13/09/2022 19:00

@havanamama medium rare steak, wine and retinol face cream!! Only another 25 weeks to go 🤣

LittleAcorn20 · 13/09/2022 19:07

@havanamama I feel like I missed out on a whole summer of pale rosé 😭🍷
Mostly just missing wine to be honest. But I'll miss it less as the nights draw in and get darker/colder. I'll be happy with a cuppa.
Oh and I miss unrestricted caffeine too!! Love my coffee usually and it'd be super helpful to keep drinking it through the day with the fatigue and a two year old and work to contend with.
There's not many of the foods on the unsafe list that I like anyway, except maybe things like Proscuitto!
I'm eating cooked camembert from time to time, even though I've read mixed things about whether that's ok or not.

Due date buddies!!

havanamama · 13/09/2022 19:20

Oh yes some cheeses! Can’t wait haha

Perexi · 13/09/2022 19:28

I thought I was a bit of a weird case today not being able to get the screening measurements done! That's the way it was relayed to me, I guess it's actually quite normal.

I told my mum today evening though we're having another scan next week and it's so cute. she's over the moon, genuinely I don't think anything else could have made her happier 😂

Ah stuff I read said it was ok. To answer your question Im veggie so not missing much apart from brie!

Dreamingof3 · 13/09/2022 19:32

@havanamama pate 😭 and a nice gin, and alll the caffeine. Soon I'll be missing carbs and sugar...not sure when I'll be checked for gd again so making the most of it so far 😂

@Thirdtimesacharm3 congratulations on boy number 3!

ToffeeEl · 13/09/2022 19:40

Lovely seeing everyone's scans so far, feels like thread 1 was a long time ago!
I've also had my scan last week, due 13 March, 14+1 today. Had a comment from the lady doing the ultrasound suggesting gender, still would love opinions from anyone on what they think

Due March 2023 - thread 3
Katlouise24 · 13/09/2022 19:43

@ToffeeEl we are due the same day! I'm 14+1 today too!

I have no idea about the nub theory as this is baby number 1 for me!

Any guesses?

Due March 2023 - thread 3
havanamama · 13/09/2022 20:12

@Dreamingof3 I have my GD test booked in December, so I have to cut carbs a few weeks before?

Dreamingof3 · 13/09/2022 20:36

@ToffeeEl i think boy
@Katlouise24 girl!

@havanamama just eat normally until then I think, although if you think you're likely to have it, couldn't hurt to start a bit earlier. I found the hospital advice rubbish, there's a gestational diabetes UK Facebook group who are super helpful

Hopingforarainbow27 · 13/09/2022 21:02

Does anyone know what happens at your 16 week midwife appointment? Preferably in Belfast

havanamama · 13/09/2022 21:44

Wrote a message and it disappeared!

@Hopingforarainbow27 discuss 12 week screening results and what will be checking in the 20 week anomaly screening. Take your blood pressure and blood and urine samples, answer any questions etc

havanamama · 13/09/2022 21:45

@Dreamingof3 Pre pregnancy I’ve always had perfect blood sugar results, so just having this cause of high BMI.
I don’t even know what the symptoms of GA are

Hopingforarainbow27 · 13/09/2022 21:50

@havanamama thank u! Do they use a Doppler? Mine got moved from 19th to the 22nd and I've also got a private scan on 22nd lol so twice in one day I will be seen! Can't complain!

Steak and retinol!
To think I was most concerned about dropping coffee in the early weeks! 😅

hol92 · 14/09/2022 07:07

Definitely missing cheese! And wine 🍷 although I did read that you can have cheese as long as it’s baked so baked Camembert etc... still don’t know if I would dare though 😂 x

Bobduncan · 14/09/2022 07:10

I'm not a wine drinker, so luckily not missing that! I would love some goats cheese though- I'm confused if this is a safe cheese or not? Also chorizo and cured meats....mmmmm. I would love to drink a huge full fat coke too. Man, I'm hungry now!

Babynum2 · 14/09/2022 07:17

Food! I miss food! I still cant eat just want to be able to make a nice dinner and actually eat it

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 14/09/2022 08:30

@Perexi I thought the same, the sonographer wasn't very informative and just gave us one word answers really, it wasn't until I saw the midwife after she explained it's really common as baby has to be laying in a certain position

havanamama · 14/09/2022 09:08

@Hopingforarainbow27 no idea, to my understanding midwife check the mum and then ultrasounds are for the baby.

also think they might weigh you again too
