Anyone else having their 12 week scan this week? Ours is tomorrow and even though we've had private early scans that said everything was fine, I'm suddenly absolutely terrified!

Same! Although we didn't do any early scans so this is our first ever and I'm so nervous!

ChristmasJumpers · 12/09/2022 10:21

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark mine is Thursday and I've not had one for 4 weeks now, I'm super nervous!! Good luck, let us know how you get on 😊😊

hol92 · 12/09/2022 10:32

Mine is on Friday and my anxiety is mad! I also had one at 9 weeks and my mum keeps saying that surely that has made me feel better... it did at the time but not now haha! Wishing the week away so much, good Luck everyone :) xx

Dreamingof3 · 12/09/2022 10:49

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark I have my second 12 week scan tomorrow (could get measurements at the first one last week). We had a scan at 9 weeks, then last week and all was fine but still feel sick with nerves for tomorrow 😒

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 12/09/2022 11:01

I think it's the tests as well, I didn't have any bloods or anything done at my booking appointment, the midwife said as my scan was only 9 days away to get them all done at once as I struggle with getting blood out.

We've also not told anyone yet as DH was adamant we had to wait until 12 weeks, not even parents, we've been in this little secret baby bubble for so long it feels kind of scary letting everyone else in!

Flowerfan35 · 12/09/2022 12:07

Am also not showing a bump, but my skinny jeans are telling me I have put on weight 😂 although that could be the 2 holidays in August rather than the babies fault 😂

Good luck to everyone with scans coming up! The anxiety is totally normal, I definitely had that before 12 week scan and sure it will make a reappearance before the 20 week one lol

Babynum2 · 12/09/2022 14:10

Fully bumping away here im 15+1 today feel very tired and very sick still though!

havanamama · 12/09/2022 14:43

I had sickness from 6+4 to 14. Now in week 15 just sensitive and growing breasts and tiredness, some twinges in the tummy, and occasional pelvic girdle pain.

Anyone else feeling very hot constantly ?

LaForza101 · 12/09/2022 15:51

Good luck to everyone with scans this week!

I keep looking at my stomach in profile and can see a small bump there but to everyone else it probably looks like a normal stomach (with maybe a few too many doughnuts!). I can't wait to pop with a proper bump!

hol92 · 12/09/2022 16:09

Did everyone get there blood test results from there booking appointment or did you have to follow up? Just I have had a headache now for over two weeks and keep going very dizzy, I just noticed my nails had strange ridges in them so went on dr google and it mentioned iron deficiency, I had this when I was a teenager, have messaged my midwife about them the other day but haven’t heard back xx

havanamama · 12/09/2022 16:15

@hol92 I didn’t hear anything. I canned the GP myself and he said the results were fine.

theb a bit later when I had my first consultant call, they said the booking appointment bloods were not actually fine and I needed to change my medication.

havanamama · 12/09/2022 16:16

*called

hol92 · 12/09/2022 16:27

Oh really! I will give them a call then, I just assumed they would contact me if anything were wrong, I have my scan Friday with more bloods after that so think I will ask them there, I know tiredness, headaches and dizziness are all pregnancy symptoms but it just seems to be getting worse I slept for 15 hours both days over the weekend and I’ve never been like that x

Dreamingof3 · 12/09/2022 16:56

@hol92 they should get in touch if there's anything that needs actioning, but always worth a call to check! Does sound like it could be low iron, I need an iron infusion when i was pregnant with my eldest and i felt how you've described

Pickles23 · 12/09/2022 17:00

My booking appointment blood test results were fine and I wasn't contacted about them, but they did show up in my Badger Notes app if you have that? (not sure if everyone has the app or if it depends on region)

namechangeforthisonegg · 12/09/2022 17:36

Had my scan today at 13 weeks 🥰 any nub theory guesses?

Due March 2023 - thread 3
Babynum2 · 12/09/2022 17:50

My blood results are alll uploaded to badger notes.

Wondering how everyones weight gain has been with their wieght gain? I have ovbiously lost a lot due to HG but last couple weeks ive gained some back and up 5lb from my lowest weight. I started at 11.9 before i started being sick so hoping that loss of over a stone will mean i dont gain to much😂im the same in every pregnancy i dont fancy anything green everyting must be beige.

Babynum2 · 12/09/2022 17:51

@namechangeforthisonegg im going to take a guess and say girl. Next year ive heard is the year of the girls so im going to say that to everyone 😂

Ooo interesting! I already have a boy :)

LittleAcorn20 · 12/09/2022 18:21

Anyone got any good book recommendations?
In first pregnancy I read The Modern Midwife's Guide to Pregnancy, The Positive Birth Book and Positive Breastfeeding Book and Ina May's Guide to Childbirth.
I think I will reread them all but just wanted other possible recommendations!

Bobduncan · 12/09/2022 18:38

My blood results were visible on Patients Know Best which I think many trusts are using. You link your NHS login to it. Or just use the NHS app where you should be able to all test results xx
