Hi all,

I have just self referred to Frimley as newly pregnant, if anyone has done this recently can you advise if they send letters/call or text for appointments?

Thanks!

Agapanthus13 · 01/09/2022 17:29

Hi @roorooA I did the same yesterday and they called me back today to book in my first appointment

roorooA · 01/09/2022 18:21

@Agapanthus13 oh wow at Frimley? How many weeks do you think you are? When is your booking in appointment?

Now imagining us in the beds next door to each other giving birth!

Agapanthus13 · 01/09/2022 18:54

@roorooA that would be hilarious! I’m 9weeks on Saturday and have my appointment for 14th sep. How about you? Is this your first?

roorooA · 01/09/2022 19:18

@Agapanthus13
Suspect that is why you got called so quickly. I am 5 weeks. 2nd baby. What about you?

I am based in Sandhurst/Crowthorne way. Where are you?

OP posts:
Agapanthus13 · 01/09/2022 19:47

@roorooA 🙄 yes, I got the impression I was contacting them a bit late in the day! This is my first pregnancy so it’s all a bit new to me! Did you have your first at frimley too?

roorooA · 01/09/2022 19:59

Have you been feeling okay? I had my first at Royal Berks but now live over this way. Both are excellent.

OP posts:
Agapanthus13 · 01/09/2022 21:21

@roorooA I did wonder about royal berks, most people I know have given birth there but have heard mixed reviews where as everyone seems to rave about frimley? Tbh it feels like so much to decide so early on?
ive been feeling pretty rough, actually was off sick today and wasn’t til 4.30ish I started to feel relatively normal. I think it’s low blood pressure on top of the sickness. I don’t know how others do it!!?? How have you been feeling?

roorooA · 02/09/2022 07:09

@Agapanthus13 I agree, last time I didn't have to pick so early! I do think you can change though, maybe go for a look around them if you want.

I am feeling okay, just very tired. Last time I was very sick for a long time and awful heartburn. Hoping this continues.

Where are they doing your booking in appointment? At the hospital?

OP posts:
Agapanthus13 · 30/09/2022 12:08

@roorooA how are you getting on? Sorry I have been pretty poorly with low blood pressure & vomiting. Starting to feel a bit more normal now! Have you had your 12weeks scan yet?

roorooA · 02/10/2022 19:51

@Agapanthus13 sorry to hear you have been poorly. Are you feeling any better? 12 week scan is 2.5 weeks time - seems to be taking forever. How far you you now? X

OP posts:
Agapanthus13 · 03/10/2022 18:06

@roorooA finally starting to feel a bit more normal, thank you! Sorry for not responding sooner! Ah, 2.5weeks will fly by, will this be your first scan? I bet you can’t wait. We had mine last week, the sonographer was really lovely, and it was great to see the baby in more detail and listen to the heart beat, just feels so long until the next one now 🤣 How are you, have you been feeling ok? X

roorooA · 03/10/2022 18:13

@Agapanthus13 no need to apologise! Glad you are feeling a little better, I have had some sickness and so very tired but not too bad.

Did you get all emotional at the scan, have you announced to everyone now? X

OP posts:
Agapanthus13 · 03/10/2022 18:59

@roorooA oh the tiredness, i don’t know how you’re managing to look after your little one as well. I have so much respect for anyone who’s ever been pregnant before! Glad you’re feeling ok ish and hope the sickness isn’t too bad for you.

the scan was lovely thank you, but I didn’t find it emotional (i dont tent to get emotional in public anyway) my husband was extremely excited though and it was certainly fascinating to see. I can’t remember if I mentioned but as we’re ivf we have had 3other scans before, I find them a bit nerve wracking than anything.
we’ve still not told friends or family (work know as I’ve wfh the past 6weeks as unwell). We had bloods taken for screening tests at the scan so we were waiting for the results before telling anyone. Fingers crossed they come back ok and before next weekend 🤞🏻Have you told anyone yet?

roorooA · 03/10/2022 19:54

@Agapanthus13

Thank you. It has been hard but luckily my other half has been about and carrying the load. Looking forward to 12 weeks when it is meant to be better.

How lovely that you have had early scans, I had some with my son. Amazing to see them grow.

Did you feel poorly with the hormones on IVF?

We haven't told anyone yet, we want to tell our son first and he can tell everyone (and he will!). X

OP posts:
Agapanthus13 · 03/10/2022 20:24

@roorooA i hadn’t thought of not being able to tell your son! You must be so excited to let him know he’s going to be a big brother? Has he been asking for a sibling?

the ivf meds have been ok thank you, the lead up to egg collections were tough but generally the meds for embryo transfers are bareable. I finished my jabs and pessaries on Friday which, thinking about it might be why I’m feeling better! 4months of jabs has been enough for me 🤣fingers crossed this pregnancy continued well x

ps - just thought/ they didn’t have any disposable masks at the hospital, so best to bring you’re own if you are being cautious with Covid etc x

roorooA · 04/10/2022 06:14

@Agapanthus13 he is desperate to be a big brother but wants a sister, so no pressure! Will you find out the sex?

Wee your work supportive with your IVF journey or not know?

That is a great tip about the masks - thank you!

OP posts:
Agapanthus13 · 05/10/2022 13:50

@roorooA aww bless him, that’s very cute! Do you think you’ll find out the sex? We have had the harmony test done privately and we said no to finding out through them but perhaps we’ll be ready to know at the 20 week scan.

work have been really great, I didn’t tell them about ivf and just tried to workaround my appointments and it was never questioned. We had 5rounds though so they must have suspected something. Do you work? Have you told them about your pregnancy? X

3rdtimelucky2022 · 05/10/2022 16:24

I’m registered at frimley too :)

How far along are you guys now? I see this is a slightly old thread.

Im currently 14+3. Nausea has eased but still very tired! 3rd baby for me.

roorooA · 05/10/2022 17:12

@3rdtimelucky2022 hello!

I am 10 weeks today, so just waiting on 12 week scan.

Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. Which side are you based? Hampshire, Surrey or Berkshire?

First child?

OP posts:
roorooA · 05/10/2022 17:13

@3rdtimelucky2022 just seen it is your third, ignore that question! This will be my second, other one is just 5

OP posts:
Agapanthus13 · 05/10/2022 18:49

@3rdtimelucky2022 ah nice to have you on board! I’m 14+1 so only a couple of days behind you. This is my first.

Did you have your other 2 at frimley?

Tinytortilla · 05/10/2022 20:39

I’m booked at RBH rather than Frimley but I’m 11 weeks and in Bracknell if you are local and want to meet for a coffee further down the line 😊

3rdtimelucky2022 · 06/10/2022 08:44

@roorooA Im based around Farnborough/Camberley area - how about you? Good luck for the 12 week scan, the wait feels so long!

@Agapanthus13 yes I had my 2nd at frimley at the mulberry birthing centre. It was absolutely lovely but she was quite small so I’m consultant led this time and will probably end up on labour ward. How have you found the IVF? We’ve conceived naturally but I have a history of miscarriages so has been an anxious pregnancy!

roorooA · 06/10/2022 09:13

@Tinytortilla @3rdtimelucky2022

I am Sandhurst!

Had my last one in RBH and they were great but Frimley seems much closer this time.

When is your scan booked in for? @Tinytortilla

Agapanthus13 · 06/10/2022 10:27

@3rdtimelucky2022 sorry to hear you’re having an anxious pregnancy. How was your baby measuring at your scan? Hope the sonographer was able to provide some comfort?
ivf was a bit of an emotional roller coaster tbh and we’re both feeling very anxious with the pregnancy. hoping we can relax into it over the next few weeks.

Did you have screening bloods taken at your 12weeks scan? Can I ask how long it took to get your results back? We’re still waiting for ours and it’s stressing me out! X
