Hi Ladies!
Imamum - don't you apologise for not posting very often - you enjoy these early days as they pass all too quickly! so wish I'd listened to that advice when i'd had DD! Although worked out Toby was 23 weeks, so still only very tiny really!! Can't wait to see the pics - Toby is only 17lbs now!
Isla the Smiler, I missed that you were standing on your own - aren't you clever??!! (tried Toby this afternoon and he didn't do too badly, but he was too interested in trying to grab my creme egg which was on the sofa to stay holding on for long!!).
On the subject of creme eggs, quick straw poll. Was out for coffee with some mum friends on Tuesday. One of them in particular adores Toby - she was cuddling him, unwrapping a creme egg and he was fascinated by it and dribbling massively, so she put the end in his mouth and he sucked away like it was a dummy!. I thought well ok, not the end of the world, but then 10 mins later I look up to find him with a mouthful of cappaccino foam in his mouth! He was loving it, but I was a little bit annoyed. He's not even 6 months yet and I was avoiding cows milk products until then. Now I know I'm an over cautious parent, but I encourage my children to eat healthily. DD didn't have chocolate for months and she still hasn't had a McDonalds. Not because I don't approve, the situation just hasn't really arisen. I didn't react too much as I doubt it did him any harm, but I was still a tiny bit ed!
Chooster - don't you worry about anything - we still haven't had FSAB!!! I'm off to hospital on Monday to have my bits examined and cauterised - bit traumatised by the thought to be honest. The day to day pain does seem to have subsided a bit, so maybe it is better, but I'm not trying anything to find out!! DH does still ask for a bit of single-handed activity if you get my drift, but still has to fight my utter exhaustion most nights!! Do you and DH talk about it at all, if you don't mind me asking? I think the worse thing would be to bottle something up like that. DH is quite honest about the fact that he is missing it, but understands - although he does say from time to time that he hopes it won't be like this forever! Have to say from his point of view, it is a total change from TTC days!! Then it was me constantly hassling him!!!
On the topic of hesitant vegetable eaters, I read in a magazine recently that there are courses you can go on to make your children eat veg. All about having fun with them outside of meal times. For example, sword fighting with leeks, modeling with pumpkins, no doubt bowling with carrots and apples!!. The idea is to get them to see vegetables as fun and then see if they will just taste them (raw!) while playing with them and realise they are not that bad! They also say not to force the issue during meal times, just go with the flow and it will come! (but i can you and Max that no amount of games involving courgettes will get me to eat one of those!!!)
Rainbowy - yay on the going home soon!!!!! You look after yourself and keep that baby inside you for a little while longer! Do you know whether you are having a boy or girl by the way? how exciting another new baby soon!!!
We're running out of pg bumps though - excuse my tired brain, but is it only Cityangel left after Rainbow? We need to get Rah, Ready and Minxi over here and quickly, before we really shouldn't be under this topic anymore!!!
