So although I'm I the early weeks of pregnancy I'm really interested to hear some of your best buys/things you couldn't live without for baby.

Its been literally years since I was baby shopping as my children are now primary school age.

Let me know some of your favourites in the comments so I can have a nosy online 🤍

We love our perfect prep machine - obviously this is dependent on if you are breast or bottle feeding but has been a life saver for us! We also used these little tubs for formula a lot when out and about but again dependent on how you are feeding!

Bog standard Moses basket (ours was from Clair De Lune around 40 pounds I think), we could take it into any room and it was the right size for when DD was tiny. We did also get a snuz pod which we liked but she wouldn’t sleep in it for the first few weeks because she seemed lost in it! Preferred the smaller Moses basket.

We bought a little nappy basket from TKMAXX to put wipes, nappies, muslins etc in and would just take that from room and room which we found really useful.

I also really liked this bath seat which we used with DD after her first few baths, it was much easier than filling a baby bath.

in the sale atm too!!

Congratulations by the way! 💗

I didn't have a sling for DS1 but loved it for DS2

Changing table not necessary but nice to have.

Mirror for the car, so you can see them while you are driving.

Sleepyquest · 19/07/2022 19:23

Nano bebe bottles - amazing! No more tommee tippee shite ones for us. Wish I'd had them last time when I was bottle feeding more.

Also a clevamama car seat insert that's like a sleeping bag so don't need to worry about taking coats on and off in the winter

Thank you @Northernsoul90 I did have a PP machine with my youngest son and it was a god send, however I want to breastfeeding and try to stick it out for a while longer this time if I can.

I did have a moses basket for both my children but was going to get the snuz pod 4 this time round, would you say the crib is quite big? I want to have a look at them on display to get a better idea.

Thank you, booked an early private scan at the end of this month when I'll be 8 weeks 😊

A few zipped onesies, much easier than matching the poppers up in the middle of the night when you're changing the billionth nappy.

allthingssparkly · 19/07/2022 19:29

I never used a sling with either of my two children however it's definitely something I'll take a look at for this time round thank you @Dinoteeth

Perfect prep machine
Mam bottles
Mam formula pots, handy for night feeds or when out.
A little usb charged lamp with a few different modes for night feeds
Large size muslins. Good for protecting the sofa from baby vomit 😬

Danikm151 · 19/07/2022 19:30

Nappy caddy 🙂

allthingssparkly · 19/07/2022 19:31

@Ohwhathaveidonenow yes completely agree with this, I will definitely make sure I buy a few! 😊

I love our mamaroo. But I know it's a hate it or love it product. It's the only place my ds will sleep in the daytime

Caspianberg · 19/07/2022 19:32

Washable wipes and nappies.

stokke Tripp trapp highchair with newborn attachment. Somewhere high up that’s safe from other children falling over baby whilst your trying to sort food and eat

allthingssparkly · 19/07/2022 19:32

Thank you @Winterfellismyhome and @Danikm151 Nappy caddy is on my list, super handy little item for popping in the essentials 😊

A sling, wish I could use it now and he's 4!

Suma2021 · 19/07/2022 19:34

Less so for Summer, but for a Winter baby a StarSnug blanket by Tuppence & Crumble. Used it all the time - so easy to put on / take off, can wear it in carseat, never had to bother with a proper coat.

Brunilde · 19/07/2022 19:35

A totter and tumble playmat if you have hard floors. Great for putting baby on for tummy time and play time once they are sitting as it's a little cushioned. Also wipe clean.

Northernsoul90 · 19/07/2022 19:36

I would say for a newborn they are a little big, DD was a month early though she weighed 6lb 8 so not tiny but when she startled her arms would flail all over the place because they didn’t touch the sides iyswim. In the moses basket I think she felt a little more secure but then had outgrown that by about 4 months.

I think we started putting her in the snuz pod overnight at about 3 months, it lasted until she was 7 months and then she’d outgrown that too. I really did like the snuz pod too but a little pricey for only a few months of use for us.

dannydyerismydad · 19/07/2022 20:22

Merino sleeping bags. One size fits from birth to around 2, and you don't have to faff about working out which TOG you need for the weather.

The initial outlay is expensive, but in the long run they are cheaper than buying multiple sizes and thicknesses of gro bags.

TheFutureIs · 19/07/2022 20:26

Reusable nappies and wipes

grey12 · 19/07/2022 20:27

Angel carrier!! Have had it for 6 years and 3 children and I can't find a single hint that I bought it more than a month ago!!! Amazing!!

Big whitish cotton muslins. They do everything! Breastfeeding cover, play area, sun cover, diaper in a super emergency, .....

nbrown2022x · 19/07/2022 20:29

Baby elegance co glide. It's electric and rocks and plays music!

Moonshine160 · 19/07/2022 20:40

Shnuggle baby bath.

Loads of muslins.

ShirleyPhallus · 19/07/2022 20:43

Schnuggle bath here too, it was so useful to be able to fill it and then bathe the baby on our bedroom floor where we had so much more space after a c section

northernlola · 19/07/2022 20:46

Nipple cream!

Tonight I'm really grateful for my gro egg, telling me the temperature of the room. Also great in winter.

PeaceLily2000 · 19/07/2022 20:52

Mam bottles which can be sterilised in the microwave
Sleepyhead (controversial I know) but we have used every day
Nappy caddy
Next to me crib
Perfect prep machine
Bottle drying racks

A few zipped onesies, much easier than matching the poppers up in the middle of the night when you're changing the billionth nappy.

Hated the bleary eyed minutes in the middle of the night, fiddling with poppers.

So I bought my DC’s, including the boys, nighties.
Either the with an elasticated bottom or just plain.

Absolutely brilliant. Can’t imagine why I struggled with baby grows

Whip them up, change nappy, whip them down. 😀
