Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

I feel for you! I literally spent my first 4+ months being so dizzy I nearly passed out or fell over - doctors couldn't find any reason for it. Hope it passes soon for you 🤞🏻

PinkButtercups · 22/08/2022 21:16

Mommabear20 · 22/08/2022 11:33

Is anyone else still getting dizzy spells? Have just had to sit down at work as I felt like is was gonna pass out 🤦‍♀️

I had this at 14 weeks when I had covid and midwife said my blood pressure went too low!

Anyone had/is having a GTT test soon? Going for mine next week. Wonder how I'll survive not eating from the night before until end of morning the next day. I'm so hungry all the time at the moment. What do you do during those 2.5 hours at the hospital?

I had GD in my previous pregnancy so was always planned to have a GD test at 16 weeks this time. I didn't actually realise with multiple pregnancies you have the GD tests anyway from 16 weeks.

My test was about 9am this time and from my
experience both times they are quick to get you in for the bloods. I had mine done straight away and then had to sit in the waiting room for 2.5hrs. They don't like you to walk around. Second bloods done really quickly too around 11am. Had a call at 10am the next morning to say I had GD again! Had to go in to pick a blood glucose monitor up and record readings. Had a check up with the diabetic midwife the other day and now been put on 2x metformin with morning and evening meal but under review for this incase it needs to be upped.

Getting the super fear about Christmas. I'm usually a last minute purchaser but realising that this year the cards need to be written, gifts need purchased and I need to think what I want as a gift in November at the very latest!

So I've bought my first Christmas present 😱 it's AUGUST!

I’m doing the same, I’ve started buying things for Christmas with a plan to have it all sorted before the little one arrives. Even going to preorder my food from marks and spencer to make it as easy as possible

Tofu35 · 23/08/2022 11:01

@Seraphim87 my mum has offered to cook a Christmas dinner for me and just leave it at the front door. She does live an hour away but I'm sure with enough gravy the turkey will still be lovely!
I do like your idea of getting a m&s Christmas food delivery though, maybe we can live off fancy frozen party food for a few weeks in December...

Loute02 · 23/08/2022 11:02

Thanks @Jaaxe @Mommabear20 and @PinkButtercups ! I'll try to be there early and bring stuffs with me to keep me busy. Was hoping they might sneak an extra scan or anything to check on the baby while I'm there but it doesn't look like it would happen.

I also checked at the weekend when m&s would open their Christmas food to order 🙈trying to not have any family commitments this year to enjoy our time with baby!

Orcarain · 23/08/2022 11:37

I'm really struggling with underwear just now! I'm usually a full brief girl - but my bump is causing them to roll down and dig in.

I've looked at over the bump underwear - but I'm not sure if they'd feel restrictive. Has anyone bought these?

HayleyBean · 23/08/2022 11:48

@Orcarain I'm not hope as I'm still wearing lace thongs. I was thinking I'm going to need proper pants soon just to stick maternity pads on in the future.

Mommabear20 · 23/08/2022 12:06

@Tofu35 I'm pretty much sorted for Christmas now. There's still a few presents too but but I know what I'm getting and they'll be getting ordered with my next payday. My goal is to have everything bought, wrapped and written before I go off on maternity leave so that I can use the few weeks before she arrives to be with my older 2 and not have anything to do. As for food, we don't really do anything special, just swap out the chicken for a Turkey and throw in some pigs in blankets on a normal roast dinner so that can be done in our normal weekly grocery order

Tofu35 · 23/08/2022 13:06

@Mommabear20 what a hero! Getting everything done for maternity leave starting is a good goal. I may borrow that one :)

Jaaxe · 23/08/2022 13:32

@Mommabear20 yes I keep having dizzy spells, just had one at work and haven’t even told them im pregnant yet…awkward. Going to have to do that this week 😬

@Orcarain have you tried the high rise full briefs? I’ve bought these since my first csection so they wouldn’t rub on my scar and NEVER looked back 🤣 they aren’t the sexiest but they are so comfortable. Would recommend to anyone who is getting a csection or who ends up having one for afterwards (buy a size bigger so they’re not tight on the scar)…black ones obvs 🤣
something like these www.marksandspencer.com/7pk-pure-cotton-high-rise-full-briefs/p/clp60512008

Anyone super organised and got a list going of things to buy for before their babies here? This will be my 4th so I realise I’m not new and we have a lot already but just want to make sure I haven’t forgot anything and make Christmas as easy and hassle free as possible! X

Madcow21 · 23/08/2022 14:32

Hello, I’m due 22nd December and have not felt any movement yet at nearly 23 weeks. Should I be concerned? This is my first pregnancy.

Orcarain · 23/08/2022 14:39

@Madcow21 I'm due 21st December and I've got a anterior placenta, meaning it's all at the front, so I'm not getting much movement just now. Maybe you're the same?

Have you spoken to your midwife?

Madcow21 · 23/08/2022 14:43

Yes I have an anterior placenta too!

I’ve got an appointment next week with the midwife but wasn’t sure what was “normal”.

Mommabear20 · 23/08/2022 14:49

@Madcow21 I didn't feel my DD (1st pregnancy) move till 25 weeks. Midwife said it's totally normal as as first time mums we don't necessarily know what we're looking for. And my DS I didn't feel till 23 weeks either as had an anterior placenta so definitely not something to worry about.

Madcow21 · 23/08/2022 14:56

Thank you! That’s made me feel a lot better

Mommabear20 · 23/08/2022 16:35

This is my third and I only felt her 'properly' at 22 weeks.

MissC07 · 23/08/2022 21:32

@Madcow21 I've also got an anterior placenta, am 24 weeks on Thurs and have only just started feeling little bubbles and pops but not regularly. My midwife said it's totally normal

Sdoubleyou · 23/08/2022 21:53

@Jaaxe, yes, I am that person! I have a list going. Partially inspired by a natural inclination towards list-making, partially due to major pregnancy brain. Here's what I have so far (sorry for photo quality, couldn't copy table to mumsnet):

@Sdoubleyou now that's organised! 😂 I love it!!!

With it being my third, I've already done most things, and aren't much into the photo shoots or showers etc. my hospital bag is packed and birth plan written! I literally just need the baby now 😂

Chanel05 · 24/08/2022 20:15

@Sdoubleyou that's super organised!!

I will do hospital bag at 34 weeks as I did with my daughter. I'm not bothering with a birth plan for 2 reasons: I wrote a long, detailed plan for my first labour and it didn't leave the hospital bag, nor did any doctors/midwives ask for it, and births tend not to go to plan, so I now expect the unexpected!

I've washed, dried and put away baby's clothes already in his wardrobe and I'll be harvesting colostrum this time.

Sdoubleyou · 25/08/2022 00:15

@Chanel05, it's my first and I've been warned not to get too attached to the plan, since it will almost certainly change! But reading up on labour and delivery and the exercice of preparing the plan is making me more mindful about it all. I also have a doula so I know she'll advocate for the things that are really important for me. And the rest, well, I'll just have to roll with it!

Hi girls, is there anyone that has been tested for BNP regarding heart issues?

MadamMaltesers · 25/08/2022 14:20

@Vg92 is that heart issues with the mother or baby??
