Please tell me it's a false positive

I posted this in conception but didn't get too much response. Absolutely freaking out.

I have no idea when I ovulated or when I conceived.

I have just done a clear blue early result test and there is the FAINTEST line ever. I can't even capture it on a photo and can't see it in some lights but it's definitely there.

It appeared within the 3 minute window.

What are the chances this could be a false positive? Is it even possible to have a line so faint? When should I test again?

This was definitely not planned.

i don’t think there can be a false positive. I inverted the colours and can see the faintest line.

are you ok?

Amammai · 18/06/2022 22:57

I don’t think it’s possible to get a false positive. Do you know the date of the first day of your last period? That’s the date to count from (not ovulation or conception.)

Galvanisa · 18/06/2022 22:59

Those tests are dodgy and do give false povs but it could equally be very early

do a pink dye test tomorrow

sereniting · 18/06/2022 22:59

Thank you.

I'm on the pill so my dates are unclear but the first day of my last bleed was 23rd may.

I had a false positive last year...3 different tests. All within the recommended time frame. I have a coil so I wasnt trying for a baby.

Because of the coil I had to get scanned asap and I was told by the doctor that shop bought tests "aren't as reliable as we think". Nothing visible on scan and didn't come to anything. They put it down to my coil? First I had heard of that tbh.

Do you have a Mirena?

Blossomandbee · 18/06/2022 23:02

It's colourless so could be an evap line, which is common on those tests. I would try a pink dye one like First Response. Hope you get the result you want

bigkoalacliphug · 18/06/2022 23:03

galvanisa one of my false positives was from a pink first response.

PinkBump2022 · 18/06/2022 23:13

Those tests are dodgey as hell! I’d never trust one Iv had faint lines like that on them and not been pregnant. Try a first response

nometo4 · 18/06/2022 23:14

I've had lines like that and not been pregnant. Flowers Try another brand in the morning.

WorkEvent · 18/06/2022 23:19

I’ve definitely had faint lines on blue dye tests that weren’t real positives. FR tests are good but they are also a bugger for a visible indent if you’re really squinting for a line.

LessonsinGurning · 18/06/2022 23:29

That looks like an evap line to me.

LovelyDaaling · 19/06/2022 06:49

If you are on the pill, why did you think it necessary to take a pregnancy test?

This. Did something else make you wonder? Other symptoms?

Matchingcollarandcuffs · 19/06/2022 06:57

I’ve lost count of the amount of false positives I’ve had from blue line tests. DH banned me from them in the end as too stressful.

tbh I just used to get cheap sensitive ones from eBay, they worked every time I was pregnant

hope you get the result you want

TolkiensFallow · 19/06/2022 06:57

You’re barely late so it would be that light on a normal test. But it’s a bit early to be testing if you aren’t late so what has made you test?

it does look positive to me.

ecnatsid · 19/06/2022 06:57

I had faint lines with those tests which ultimately turned out t be negative

youknownuthinjonsnuh · 19/06/2022 07:06

that’s how faint my first test was at 10 days post ovulation but if you’re saying you bled 23rd May I would think a test would be a bit darker at this point if pos. Test again tomorrow using first wee 😊

sereniting · 19/06/2022 11:33

First response test this morning. Also EXTREMELY faint. It's a tiny bit more noticeable in person but not by much.

So confused.

If you are on the pill, why did you think it necessary to take a pregnancy test?

I have been having period pain but no bleeding (which is unusual for me) and some nausea.

I can't see a line. I hope you are okay?

sereniting · 19/06/2022 11:48

I think this is a better pic

Thank you. I'm stressed/confused.

OP posts:
Blossomandbee · 19/06/2022 12:26

I see the line. That's confusing as it still looks colourless but definitely visible.

Jaaxe · 19/06/2022 12:32

Your first response looks positive, I had this very early and was pregnant unplanned, morning after pill failed, now 12 weeks pregnant. You can ask your Gp to do a blood test to know for sure or wait and retest in a couple of days with first response see if the line darkens. Hope you are ok xx

rainbowsunshineclouds · 19/06/2022 12:37

I'm sorry but I do think they look positive, but not possible to be sure without seeing if they are darker in a day or two.

I hope you're ok

You could maybe do a digital test?
