@Juno231 sorry I was focusing on the dead baby behind. 😳though hopefully you managed to revive it. that's probs the only time when Birkenstocks become uncomfy πŸ˜‚yeah my friend said "I was talking to someone who's just come back & they said it was 50 degrees...I mean I knew it would be hot but not that much" well you are an idiot then. Her baby is pure light blonde too. Absolute idiot. And here's me walking my dogs & child specifically on a dog walk ALL in shade & with a stream at 9.30 in uk so no one overheats

@Somatronic that's the dwarf king. Though I'm thinking more like this?! And they should def STFU. Thank you, we love a bit of bright.

Somatronic · 22/06/2022 10:25

@Minster2012 second pic is more accurate haha. These people are very high status in society aswell. They just behave like absolute morons.

@Juno231 I was also focused on the freaky looking baby in the background too πŸ˜‚Thanks for the swollen foot solidarity!

Last day on pessaries! Yipee! No longer will I have to insert a bullet into my vag the second I wake up every morning, and I won't have to be stuck to the house every evening at 7pm (because as I learned a few times when I was out and about, fingering yourself in pub toilets/my car etc is no fun). And hopefully the swelling will come down, though it's possible that my own progesterone has taken over and this is just how fat I am now?! Either way I'm very excited not to have to take them after three months.

larrythelizard · 22/06/2022 10:38

Ergh entitled people are the worst @Somatronic (I'm currently listening to a whingy woman have a go at a fairly young pool/towel attendant who moved her towel yesterday as she put them out at 7am and they didn't come back until after lunch...poor guy is just saying 'my boss told me to'...!)

Ah northern Spain is on my list @Franklydear - we were going to go as part of a big Spanish road trip on Mat Leave #1 but Covid put a stop to that!

Still puffy @Franklydear should you get that checked? Did you hear back from the Dr about your list for B?

Love the snap @Juno231 - I swelled up in the heat last time but most amusingly couldn't wear flip flops right at the end as my feet were too sweaty!

I reckon the worst of the heat is over these days by the time the kids break up from school so only another 4 weeks or so @InkyPaper

I love the heat other than the chub rub!

Started off overcast and rainy but has come out to be the best day since we've been here today.

OP posts:
Juno231 · 22/06/2022 11:25

@larrythelizard I always wear my chub rub shorts! I find my normal ones from m&s still fit

@Minster2012 ha yes - baby's first aid class! and the thing is with dubai is that it's such a humid place in summer! I had no idea as I just imagined a desert must be dry lol - but it's honestly like trying to breathe in water and so uncomfortable. Wait how did we end up with pics from the hobbit?

@Somatronic yay for no more pessaries!! less gunk up your junk!

Franklydear · 22/06/2022 11:26

Haha I think the puffy comment would be for @Minster2012 as I cannot answer for B
@larrythelizard i like to take the eurotunnel and then drive to Barcelona, stop in Bilbao, and finish in Corunha, then go down to Vigo through the coast, don’t worry is like two hours, and come back in the ferry in Santander, so you don’t have to drive to France again, any time of the year, you don’t get much heat, if you like to do that for mat #2

Minster2012 · 22/06/2022 12:20

@larrythelizard I don't think really puffy still, I could def get one link taken out now but maybe not the two cos of the heat as it's sticky too but I found that last year it was slightly tight in the heat (as were my rings) so I think it's more heat swollen now. That's my line and I'm sticking to it πŸ˜‚ask me again in winter when I'm still too fat for it πŸ˜‚

@Juno231 the dry heat yes I think would be awful. Pics from hobbit as @Somatronic's fella said that the person being mean probs looked like that themselves.

@Somatronic no more fingering in pub toilets!! Well, only for fun.

I've stopped my fragmin injections too after over 3/4 of a year yesssssssss I was thinking the other day about the stuff we've done to get babies like @Somatronic says, fingering in pub toilets, lying down for certain times, I've done OPKs on beaches & at parties, I used the ferti-lili cup which was NOT SEXY but I think def helped. Foof & bum bullets galore. Popped so many pills it's unreal. Look at us now πŸ₯°I wonder what actually worked????

bez91 · 22/06/2022 13:09

Wow @Juno231 they are impressive πŸ˜† the heat no doubt isn't helping!

Agree on Jay being a bit of alright but no to Luca @Minster2012 I quite like Jacques and Dami - to look at, I think they're all probably idiots 🫣 yesss to the fragmin injections too! I hated doing mine and DH was no help!

@Somatronic yessss on the pessaries, surely that calls for a good (non alcoholic) beverage to celebrate! I was the same, you feel tied to the house a bit with stuff leaking out of you or inconvenience of inserting it elsewhere πŸ˜‚

Talking of swelling, I'm feeling much 'larger' and bloated round my tummy this week which is annoying 6 weeks in as thought it'd get better and I've been eating pretty well. I've had some pains so wonder if AF is lurking πŸ‘€

Soph0105 · 22/06/2022 17:49

Oh commiserations @Juno231 I vividly remember going back to work for my final couple of weeks after the 6 week summer hols and not having any appropriate footwear left πŸ˜‚

Happy last pessary day @Somatronic! πŸ₯³

Enjoy your hols @larrythelizard i would be jealous but I'm also not great with the heat...

Also happy last jab day @Minster2012 πŸ₯³

Hope AF stays away @bez91 I'm on 8 months and no sign but I know I'm on borrowed time now I've basically stopped BF... 😭

Bestie's baby is here! A beautiful baby girl... where are those boys?! Although assuming PTSD turns out to be straight he's going to have his pick of the ladies when he's older... πŸ€” find it very weird to think that our babies will be in the same year at school, a year is a long time really isn't it! At least to start with

2020mission · 22/06/2022 22:07

@Minster2012 was just scanning the chat and see fingering in pub toilets... say what? πŸ˜‚ I've definitely missed something

Franklydear · 23/06/2022 06:10

Bloody hell, I reported on Instagram another account that try to got Instagram to sent me an email to change my password, she? needed the link, and apparently she hasn’t broken any rules, no mate, just the law, be careful out there, it’s the Wild West
very cloudy this morning, let’s hope is a bit less hot

Somatronic · 23/06/2022 11:31

@2020mission I was just saying how glad I am that my days of having to insert progesterone pessaries in public places is over. A couple of times I've gone for drinks after work and have had to figure out how to insert a pessary and try to lie/sit flat for 20 mins in pub toilets. Spoiler alert - it can't be done.

I had my 12 week scan this morning. Everything went well. I'm so relieved. The baby was doing somersaults and jumping around like a lunatic which was fun.

The midwife gave us some information about those chromosome tests - did anyone here get them? Harmony and Panorama. It's €400 so I'm not sure if I will. DH wants to do them.

larrythelizard · 23/06/2022 11:43

I've tried deodorant before under my boobs @Minster2012 @InkyPaper but no use!

Ah that's reassuring that someone of a similar gestation is also on BH, I don't think I'd even be slightly worried if i was at home but being away makes me slightly nervy! Same here on usual chub rub shorts although inexplicably forgot to wear them last Friday and suffering the after effects a little!

I had a look at a map @Franklydear and I can't remember where I booked for our Galicia stop - was definitely coastal. No chance for Mat Leave 2 but we'll deffo go at some point.

Hmm ok @Minster2012 but I've got my eye on you!!

Oh cheers AF, never as long a reprieve as it should be @bez91

Hooray @Somatronic great news!! Have you got big plans for telling people? Do they do standard tests for you in Ireland? I just had the blood tests for the three main chromosome things and no harmony test here - I think @Juno231 did though so she can tell you more!

OP posts:
Somatronic · 23/06/2022 11:58

I don't think they do any testing like that except for the ones I mentioned which can only be done if you pay for them. We're a little bit backward here - I mean abortion up to 12 weeks and for fatal foetal abnormalities (in theory anyway) was only legalised in 2018 after 35 years of campaigning so this side of maternity is still a little tricky.

On the announcement stuff, I'm a really awkward person. I didn't announce my engagement. I just about put up a photo on social media of my wedding. I hate fuss. I guess I'll just tell people as I see them? My two alleged best friends since I was 10 years old have irritated me by not checking in on me when I was doing IVF so they still don't know! Because they never asked! I guess I should probably send them a scan pic or something to let them know but I'm a bit sour with them, truth be told. How hard is it to send a text asking how IVF is going?!

@Soph0105 lovely news about your friend.

@Franklydear yeah those scammers are everywhere. I get about 2 texts a week from banks I don't have accounts with telling me my account has been compromised πŸ™„

Minster2012 · 23/06/2022 12:21

@Somatronic that's excellent news I'm so sorry I didn't hop on to say good luck beforehand I'm having a mare today. We did the NIPT testing for Xander but only after they couldn't get the Michal measurements & because I'm so faulty we wanted to rule out any bad issues that would mean extra care for a baby too. We didn't for Bronte.

Sorry gotta dash go get X from school then I'm on a round trip to try scour my parents house for my birth certificate as bronte's passport app has been kicked back as they can't verify me???? Of course I can't find it. Trying to Find a plumber too, sorting out home insurance AND doing work I need to do for DH. Adulting sucks.

DKDK123 · 23/06/2022 12:33

Currently being held hostage trapped under a sleeping baby and DS is away out with his Aunty so I finally have time to catch up on everyones news.
We had a lovely couple of days away, looking after 2 kids is far easier when there are 2 adults on hand and I got to sneak in a few much needed daytime naps too so it was bliss, it made me realise just how much I do myself during the day when DH is at work with the 2 of them, no wonder I'm always exhausted!
Things haven't been so rosy since we came back tho. DD has entered leap 1 (I know some of you hate Wonder weeks but for me I love it as at least I knew it was coming up so was mentally prepared and I also know its not going to be forever so I can ride out the storm). She's been mega clingy, screaming the minute she's put down (and annoyingly hating her sling at the minute so I can't even use that....tho I think the heat has a lot to do with the sling hatred at the moment) and her sleep is all over the place so I've been running on next to no sleep every day this week and can't nap as have DS to look after too and DD is only 15min cat napping anyways 😴 but the worst of it is that she's finally broken DS, her screaming got to her so much yesterday that he turned round and said to her really venemously "Shush, stop the screaming or I'll punch you in the face youre hurting my ears!" 😯 Hes not usually an aggressive or violent child and I've never heard him use a phrase like that before so it gave me a right shock! So I can't even leave them alone for 2mins to nip to the loo for fear he snaps and hurts her. When she's not screaming he's all over her and loves her to pieces but I think he's just reached his tolerance levels and I really feel for him. He's also being very clingy with me so he won't go play in another space to get away from the noise. I've ordered him some ear defenders to see if that helps. 🀞 And my SIL has taken him away for a few hours today to give him some respite from DD so hopefully he comes back feeling refreshed.

Juno231 · 23/06/2022 12:39

@SomatronicI had NIPT done for peace of mind. But that was at 10 weeks as I didn't want to wait for indicators at the 12 week scan only to then have it done, wait for results for a couple of weeks and THEN have to start the whole rigmarole of potentially having a termination through the NHS as it can take a while (OH's cousin went through this and it scared me off it). Did you not have a nuchal scan as part of your 12 week scan? And subsequent ratios for Downs syndrome?

33 weeks here today! Did I mention I had a midwife appointment yesterday? I woke up at 4 am yesterday to baby doing a big flip and I'm 99% sure she'd been transverse all week so was excited thinking she'd flipped head down. MW confirmed she is indeed head down now so let's hope she stays that way!

Juno231 · 23/06/2022 12:41

@DKDK123 aw poor DS but that sounds like a fairly understandable response at least and I'm impressed he tried to communicate that to her! Other kiddos could've gone straight for the attack lol. I doubt you have anything to worry about from him but it'll be nice for him to get a rest from the screaming. Where did you go away to? Glad you got to rest a bit!

DKDK123 · 23/06/2022 12:42

Right ladies I'm so confused how the hell do you reply in the app? The browser version has changed to the same as the app version and now I dunno what I'm doing. How do you reply and read at the same time, I thought it kept your message when you hit back to read on the next message but it didn't it wiped my reply. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I probably being mega thick as I know everyone else seems to think the app is easier to use πŸ™ˆ So I have caught up with everyone's news I just have no idea how to reply in the one message.

InkyPaper · 23/06/2022 12:46

@Somatronic yaaaaaaay!! Glad the scan went well! It's lovely to see them wriggling about isn't it? On the testing side, it's same as the others had said, we just did what was offered by the NHS, so checking for signs of Down's, Pattau's, and Edward's. Probably would've done further testing if they'd come back saying we were high risk. I also didn't do any kind of social media announcement (outside of the bus, of course). Not really my thing, we just told people but did it straight away as all our friends/family knew we'd done IVF and were waiting on the news.

@Soph0105 wooooooooooooooop! Congrats to your bestie!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

@Minster2012 they can't verify you?! But surely they've got you on the system with your passport details - madness! Hope you find the certificate!

@DKDK123 big hugs, that does not sound like a fun stage to be at! Hope your DS comes back feeling like his usual self after a break from the new baby life

InkyPaper · 23/06/2022 12:49

@Juno231 hurray for her being head down!! πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

@DKDK123 I just keep scrolling up and down the page on the browser to read a message, then write a reply. If I've missed pages, I write my response in the notes app on my phone and then copy and paste it in

Minster2012 · 23/06/2022 12:54

Yep can't verify me from either my national insurance number OR my passport number @InkyPaper
They need my birth certificate so that's what I can't find. My parents away so hence going to theirs but they don't think they have it as I'm sure we needed it for X's parental order. I can't find DH's either & im meticulous with paperwork ffs

Minster2012 · 23/06/2022 12:57

What if I don't exist???? 😳😳😳

larrythelizard · 23/06/2022 13:07

Oooh if you don't exist then who has been chatting to us for the last year or so @Minster2012 πŸ€” you can order replacement Birth Certificates, and can you log on to HMRC to find NI details? Ha who am I kidding HMRC is not that useful!

@Somatronic I'm not one for an announcement either, I'm sure there's people I haven't told and then there'll be a baby! Deffo no trace of it on my socials as I don't put anything on fb really and my normal insta certainly doesn't have full length pictures of me on it!

Hooray @Juno231 let's hope that's her in position ready to go!

That's what I like about WW @DKDK123 - that you know it's coming and your baby hasn't broken!

OP posts:
kaylsd · 23/06/2022 13:07

Small update check in ladies!
Went for my placenta check scan today as at 20 weeks I was diagnosed with a low lying placenta ! Good news that it has moved up out of the way, with good clearance and baby is measuring 1.9kg today which I think is just over 4lb? But not so good news we've been told today first time we've heard our baby is breech! The scan was really awkward because I couldn't really make out much without seeing arms and limbs all over πŸ€£πŸ™ˆ Going to inflate the birth ball tonight and bounce like there's no tomorrow, any other old wives tales to help baby turn? @Juno231 @vil10 am I right in thinking it has been the same for you guys although with a quick skim read I think @Juno231 little girl is now head down? Anyway that's my latest bub update :) hope everyone's still enjoying the sun I'm actually looking forward to the thought of some thunderstorms potentially on the way πŸ₯΅

Juno231 · 23/06/2022 13:14

@DKDK123 I hated the app last time I tried it so I just use the browser!

@kaylsd yay for the placenta moving out of the way! Don't worry about breech, baby has until 36 weeks to turn still. Check out spinning babies website if baby hasn't turned by your next appointment maybe?

@Minster2012 wait what they can't find you using NI or passport number what the frick?!

@Somatronic I announced after my 20 week scan I think it was - just bought a digital announcement from Etsy and posted that on social media and left it at that lol. I'd keep quiet about it to your two friends who never bothered to check in on you after IVF for TEN WEEKS FFS. Btw did the scan change your EDD at all?
