Ok, long catch up it seems
@DKDK123 the lovely ladies of ds childcare have made me hear how he talks about me if I am doubting myself, and his opinion is the only one that matters
@Minster2012 we are also struggling to recruit but new manager is offering decent contracts so maybe we'll have better luck this time
Rubbish on af but we can TTC together again!
@larrythelizard yes all going on tick, don't know if it'll take me anywhere but, doctor doesn't see me horrified at my trying still for a second, in fact, she says I still have time, not that much but time, so really encouraging and I'll make a team of her and the nurse after the scan, I love my medical teams, makes making appointments difficult but a lot more productive
@boris Already had family asking for explanation of what the hell we are on about, and who is Larry the 🐈 and why he gets to stay
I am feeling better but new manager doesn't let me do anything strenuous, and going out of his way to make me feel appreciated, he's terrified that I would leave cos of bossboy and he's trying to repair the damage, so we no longer have a Johnson cabinet style office

larrythelizard · 07/07/2022 18:37

Oh god I'm pleased I only have to go into the office sporadically @Somatronic!

Poor little F, hope antibiotics are going in OK. At least she's small enough to overpower and get them in @feliznavidad2! In a way I feel like I've been pregnant a long time but equally a short time...strange thing, the concept of time!

At least you know baba is breech and you can make a plan for if they don't turn @kaylsd - have a google and a read of 'gentle caesareans' - doesn't have to be super super medical. 50 miles is impressive!

Oh noooo @Minster2012 fucking AF!

I've also been enjoying the political memes today @kaylsd

I think the patio would be a good place if he does come back with no tan @bez91, DH needs to get our second one out of the loft!

As long as you hide inside this weekend @paintfairy you should be OK with no summer clothes, it's not like this heat will last longer than a couple of days!

@BellatrixK that's lovely about your cover. And agree on the GTT, it's gross. Hope it comes back negative.

I'm looking forward to some paddling pool action this weekend. DS' best bud at nursery has been off poorly, he's back now. Apparently he had chicken pox because he touched a chicken 🀣.

DH and I could only agree on one boys name but I'm now having a wobble about it so desperately trying to come up with alternatives!

We do have hot water though. Too hot.

As you were

Minster2012 · 07/07/2022 19:26

And DH has put my 69p birthday card, in the bag. On the table for 3 hours earlier in front of me.

PATIO TIME

kaylsd · 08/07/2022 07:45

@bez91 I hope your DH turned up with a fan for you πŸ₯΅πŸ€£ and your too right there girl they can bloody wait for you if they are the ones running late!
@paintfairy I’ve been doing spinning babies, ball bouncing and walking :) just gonna keep it up as I am and that’s all I can do! Our little ones like being in strange positions with the sounds of things πŸ™ˆ not long now though for you darling! How you managed to DTD in this heat?!! But I guess a girls got to do what she has to get little one out ;)
@bellatrixK awww that’s so nice that your school has sorted out your cover means you can plan ahead with them to make sure your classes are in good hands which I can imagine they will be! How sweet of you telling your students 😍
@soph0105 thank you lovely hope you are well!
@larrythelizard I’ll look into them thanks hun! I’ve watched 3 c sections as a student many moons back and not heard of those ones :) I’m happy that there’s kind of a structured plan to what’s going off but for now… I’m going to bounce like there’s no tomorrow on my ball for 2 week🀣🀣🀣 I wish I had a paddling pool :( tempted to get mop bucket out n dip my feet in that to cool down
@minster2012 jaw drops let’s hope that 69p card is compensated for a fabulous birthday gift maybe? My DH doesn’t understand buying cards as he always says they just go in bin afterwards anyway -.-

Going to watch last nights love island, apparently it was full of drama 🀭🀭

Franklydear · 08/07/2022 08:00

I don't understand cards, especially if you are giving them in person, use your words, I do buy them for people I know want them, or just make them
Af is gone, I am still tired but feeling better, but the gp did say that my immune system is bound to be rubbish for a while and anything can wipe me out, thanks covid

bez91 · 08/07/2022 08:15

@feliznavidad2 oh no, antibiotics aren't easy to get into any baby. Hope things are starting to clear up!

@kaylsd there are just some things outside of your control aren't there, definitely park the guilt! Looks like it'll be a good week to get all the baby clothes washed β˜€οΈ so lovely this morning. I'm a sad sack 07:55 and queuing outside Aldi but the sun is shining! @kaylsd & @paintfairy I find it weird with breach babies they say your first engages earlier than any subsequent babies but I really can't get my head round the logic in that πŸ€”

@paintfairy "told DH you had to" haha! Hopefully it might start to get things moving!

@BellatrixK It’s from Amazon, just searched buggy organiser, the brand of that one is β€˜diono’ super helpful. Wish I’d have had one last time! That's great they're so organised for your cover, one weight off your mind. I saw a job advert go out at my work last week, basically it's my job but just 22.5 hours. I've been asking for another person for 18 months, I would surmise they've realised I was doing 52.5 hours of work in 30 hours and my temporary cover can't. I'm meeting with a couple of colleagues next week so I can find out what's going off πŸ™„

@Minster2012 whooops on the card 😬 hopefully the present will compensate

Good news DH came back with a fan, the fence man never turned up so he can F right off now.
Also in other news never had so much ewcm in my life - what's going on

InkyPaper · 08/07/2022 08:47

Morning everyone! Officially 24 weeks today, which feels like a wee bit of a milestone πŸ™Œ I'm already melting, I was hoping for a break from the heat not for the UK to also be scorching πŸ˜‚

@Minster2012 omg yeah your DH can definitely go under the patio πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ sucks about AF! That's just adding insult to injury right there

@BellatrixK really impressed with your work finding you cover so quick! Mine are...trying to find cover for me but I think my manager is pulling his hair out over it. It's a candidates market right now, I think, lots of choice for people looking to move on to bigger, better things

@paintfairy Rome was amazing, would definitely recommend! ...just not in the summer months when pregnant πŸ˜‚πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ like @kaylsd I'm also super impressed you managed to DTD in this heat!! I don't want DH near me unless it's in an air-conditioned room 🀣

@Franklydear good! I'm glad your new manager is looking after you, so he should! It's good AF finally showed

@larrythelizard according to the weather report, we've got at least another 10 days of this heat 🫠 not looking forward to that!! Paddling pool this weekend sounds perfect though

larrythelizard · 08/07/2022 09:26

Whoop for 24 weeks @InkyPaper - it's getting serious now!!

Pleased you still have a DH and he isn't under the patio, I have been encouraging mine to get up in the loft and get the other fan out @bez91 although I think he's on the verge of moving out to the spare room to give hot nighttime me a bit more room in bed πŸ‘πŸΌ

Oh I love a card @Franklydear and I enjoy trying to find the right card for the right person!

One of our paddling pools is one I bought when pregnant with DS bit hasn't been out of the box @kaylsd! My plan is to get the 'big' one out for me and then DS and DH can have the smaller one. Going to blow it up and fill it this afternoon once im off calls so it'll be ready for me!

When is your bday @Minster2012? Echoing the hope that he has an amazing present up his sleeve! Or at the least went out to get you wine?!?! How's B? Is she better?

I think I'm ready for a second round of breakfast now but no idea what to have!

OP posts:
paintfairy · 08/07/2022 11:16

@kaylsd @InkyPaper it wasn't hot when we dtd. Was first thing yesterday. I didn't really notice it hot until the afternoon. But god I was too hot and irritable to sleep last night. I'm so tired! Congratulations on your 24 weeks @InkyPaper πŸŽ‰
@Minster2012 I'm impressed DH even managed to get a card for 69p. 🀣 But yes, erm, not great form!
@larrythelizard yes I might just hide inside all weekend! But next week looks hot too. πŸ₯΅ Honestly hate it. Paddling pool sounds an excellent idea!
@bez91 what is it with people not turning up?! Problem is they all have more work than they need so they get away with behaving as they do. Pees me right off.

Everything is making me angry right now. 🀣 DH is. I've mostly packed my hospital bags. The only thing I don't really have in is coming home clothes for me. Mostly because I've limited space and can't pack a load. And how the hell do I know what the weather is doing? If it's like this I need very different things to last week. Plus I've got few clothes and so I'm kind of wearing them still? Hoping I can just shove them in last minute. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
Anyway DH has one job. Change for the car park. (Not even sure if you can only pay that way to be honest but it was on the list they gave). I've got lists and lists all over of things to pack, things I had to buy bla bla. Has he sorted his one thing? No. And when I ask he gets shirty and says he'll sort it. I'm like- but it could come any time now? It should be bloody well sorted! I'm not saying he does nothing- he went shopping this morning. But ffs. You have 1 effing task. Also it pisses me off when I can't sleep at night and he's then huffing he's getting no sleep. Are you joking me? 🀬 Then yesterday I fell asleep at 2pm ish on the sofa. I'm so tired as I'm just not sleeping. And he decides that's a great time to start crashing about in the kitchen. Honestly. I don't know how I haven't killed someone. Why am I so angry? 🀣🀣🀣

larrythelizard · 08/07/2022 11:22

For going home clothes for you I wouldn't worry too much as you'll probably just go hospital -> car -> home @paintfairy. I ended up going home in my spare nightie with DS as all the other clothes I had were too sore on my c-section scar. It was navy so not 100% obvious it was a nightie! I read somewhere in the last stages of pregnancy it's how much sleep you get in 24 hours that's important, not at night, so nap as much as you need to (maybe tell DH this too so he can shut the f up!)

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 08/07/2022 13:00

Right catching up

@BellatrixK it's so good they've got you covered already, your school are on it! Maybe others could learn from yours!

@kaylsd looks like you had a great time away, plenty of time for baby to move surely, DH usually writes lovely stuff in cards so I shouldn't whinge. What did you think of love island? I enjoy it but can't help but pick up on all the staging stuff now. Davide & ekin sue I like but lots for them is staged, though I do think they are decent together. You def need a buggy organiser in your life πŸ˜‚

24 weeks @InkyPaper your baby is real now!! It's weird isn't it? But really good! Yeah from time heat to here! We shouldn't complain but hey I've got vitiligo so I am literally ruining clothes left right & centre here & hiding from the sun πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

@larrythelizard birthday is Monday, we are going to great Yorkshire show on weds so DH is having weds & Thursday off & we've got rid of X for the night, we were going to stay in a hotel but we've now decided it's a bit pointless with B & actually we'll get a more relaxing night & morning next day by being at home without him so we are gonna drive back, get a takeaway & drink wine 😊we'll prob just get a little present from the show, money saving for the house n'all

@paintfairy the car park will prob be able to take cards or a download app & you can aiwsys rush out to move the car (he can). Going home clothes can be grabbed yeah, course, don't forget I wasn't 100% packed! I wore like harem type trousers & a vest & zip up hoody. Def nap whenever you want. Tell DH if you fall asleep YOU ARE NOT TO BE DISTURBED

@Franklydear TTC together?? Not for me thanks, I really need to get that coil sorted

@bez91 did I tell you it was ewcm that made me take a test the other week as we DTD without protection & the only time in my life a GLOB of ewcm fell into the toilet the next day so I was like OMG. That wasn't 2 weeks ago it was more weirdly so don't know what it meant with this AF but it might be incoming. God I HATE it when ppl don't turn up. SO RUDE

Well ppl told me first AF Could be brutal. So far it's not too bad but yesterday was only brown blood today red & bit clotty.

B is a bit better thanks. She's more settled today & napped better this morning, also better this lunch nap so 🀞🏻it continues, she's just resettled herself so that should mean I can go pull some more weeds up for a bit & harvest the sugar snap peas from the veg patch! 🌱

DH under strict instructions to bring me wine for tonight 😁and he also needs to get the fans down from the roof

Juno231 · 08/07/2022 13:50

@paintfairy they charge you for the parking?? Ours is free - the maternity ward gives you an exemption form. Did I mention OH is packing an extension cable and fan for the hospital room? But he also wants us to go by taxi (recommended here in London as parking is a nightmare) so I'm not sure how he's planning on lugging such things around... We also know I'll have to stay for at least 24 h post birth so he probably needs a change of clothes/toothbrush etc too but I'm not gonna chase him to pack his own bags...

For going home clothes - might be safe to assume it's current weather conditions? Pick something and note it down so you can pack it once it's go time - I keep thinking odds are we'll have LOADS of time to put last minute things in the bag even once labour starts, as long as you've decided what to pack already!

@bez91 I second that - your pram organiser looks fab! Is it waterproof or can you not use it when it rains?

@InkyPaper congrats on reaching viability!! That's huge!

@Minster2012 B looks adorable even when screaming her head off. I'm sorry you were out of both wine and hot water though :( Like paintfairy - I'm impressed he located a 69p card πŸ˜‚

@feliznavidad2 I hope the infection clears quickly

@BellatrixK lol I've got 4 weeks left of work and my boss is only drafting a business case for my mat cover now!

29 degrees here today and it's roasting - no wind whatsoever. Struggling a bit! Baby has been going bananas since I woke up this morning and I'm at the stage now where her movements are really uncomfortable

Minster2012 · 08/07/2022 14:33

Sits back & watches whilst we all jump on @Juno231 saying we have to pay parking πŸ˜‚with all the appointments I had especially in the day unit where you just sat & waited I worked out I paid over Β£70 in parking for my pregnancy 😝, least that's something you get cheaper in London!! But for my Labour cos it was early in the morning we actually got there early enough to get a space on one of the roads with no charges so that was something! Turns out the plumber had just forgotten to turn the thermostat on the boiler back up so a simple fix he talked me through over the phone so all sorted now! I swear B has a neck, somewhere!

Juno231 · 08/07/2022 14:45

@Minster2012 whaaaa £70?? that's madness - especially in areas where you're kind forced to use a car! I've just walked to all my appointments so far 😝Don't worry I've not noticed B's lack of neck as she keeps distracting me with her hair and super blue eyes!

Franklydear · 08/07/2022 17:46

We pay for hospital parking here too, and with D's I was admitted for 5 days££££££
I was stressed with the buses this morning so sent a grumpy text to the office of I'll be there when I am there and someone better make me coffee, so new manager had one ready when I arrived 10 min late, I think I'll keep this one

paintfairy · 09/07/2022 08:32

@BellatrixK Eugh to the GTT. When do you get results? Good news about work though. Mine still don't seem to have acknowledged I'm going off. Finish on Friday. 🀣
@Soph0105 period pants? Which ones? I'll be interested to see how you get on with them?
@Franklydear I think Larry was there before Boris? But can probably do the job just as well on his own. 🀣
@larrythelizard we still haven't progressed on the name front. I've got one I like but I don't know if I'm brave enough to use. Beyond that we are screwed. πŸ™„ True on the going home clothes. Maybe I'll just go home in a nightie. 🀭
@Minster2012 I'm honestly not sure on the car park machine. Looked primitive. And I think it also depends which car park you end up in. Everything was up in the air due to covid so they've only just started using them again. When we were last waiting it looked like you had to speak to a man through it. DH was saying like you need the stress of it being ridiculous at a time like that. @Juno231 free? Nothing is free around here! And if I end up staying in it'll cost a fortune. Its like Β£6 for 5 hours or something. They do have fans though, they told me that on the online workshop things. And yeah you are probably right on the clothes- if that's all that needs to go in, i can just shove them in last minute if I've got options ready.

I think hot weather or not, I'm just too uncomfortable to sleep these days. Had the fan on all night and it wasn't too awful temp wise. Looks worse early next week mind. πŸ™„ DH sorted car park change by asking my mum. 🀣 I could have done that.......

I have a bag question. I've bought a rucksack type baby bag. Because I hate the cross body types to carry. But if I'm out on my own with just the pram- would one of those other ones be better that just goes over the handle? Or should I just use the bottom pram storage tray thingy and shove whatever in there?

Somatronic · 09/07/2022 09:37

My sympathy for the heat, especially those who are pregnant. It's early 20s and sunny here which is perfect.

We have to pay for hospital parking too, if you can even get parking.

I am visiting my parents in the beautiful west of Ireland this weekend. I told my female friends about the pregnancy last night in the pub and finally got some enthusiasm! Tears, baby shower talk, and I acquired an unused breast pump and tens machine and maternity clothes so it was lucrative too haha!

Unfortunately my Dad may have Covid so my parents are now freaking out about me getting it. I'm not too worried because it's unavoidable but my mother is on my case saying I'm not being careful enough etc. I don't know what she expects me to do?! There were a fair few cases of Covid placentitis causing stillbirth here and it was in the news so that's why they're scared.

bez91 · 09/07/2022 09:41

@paintfairy I came home in my maternity tracksuit bottoms and a maternity top. Classy but I only walked to the car. On the rucksack, the one I have has clips on the shoulder so it can be fastened to the handle at the front for easy access. If you're doesn't have them a buggy clip might help?

@Juno231 it's waterproof on the outside but I suppose otherwise if it's raining you also cover it with the rain cover.

We have free parking too but it's just lucky as they suspended paying due to covid and now the hospital is having major building work so still wavered otherwise err have paid hundreds πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

DH had to go into work this morning to cover a stupid job that someone hasn't turned in for, I really wish he'd learn how to delegate! So running round; class drop offs and pick ups, blood test, shopping blah blah - exciting Saturday πŸ™„

Juno231 · 09/07/2022 13:05

@paintfairy mines a backpack too (xame with the pram bundle) so I'm just getting some bag hooks for the pram so it sorta looks like in the attached pic

@bez91 ah yes I forgot about rain covers! Annoying about OH - I can see mine doing the same in that situation

@Somatronic is your dad doing okay? I love that you finally got some enthusiasm AND freebies - those are the best. What kind of breast pump did you score?

Got a delivery today of a haakaa (with lid), night lamp, baby nail trimming kit and a changing mat - all courtesy of OH's friend! What a sweetheart!! He had a baby in Jan so is on it I guess 😁

Got my colostrum harvesting kit arriving today as well - will wait until next weekend to try it though so I'm 36 weeks at least. Every time I have a look at my nipples they've got milk oozing out so hopefully collecting milk shan't be too difficult 🀞

Please note that OH giggles whenever he sees my feet and today he took this sneaky pic of them.... They're officially just blobs! I'm adding a pic of my bump too for good measure.

Minster2012 · 09/07/2022 14:59

Hey ladies, another day on our own here (me & kids) so late check in, but it was my night off last night so I slept (like a baby!) through the 5am wake where xander went in to "help" daddy out with Bronte 😬3rd outfit of the day here due to πŸ’© & weather πŸ˜‚DH didn't leave til 11 though after we thought X had really hurt himself as there was a random scream 😱 (X was doing a poo in the bathroom last I had checked) so we both jump up from our locations in the house but he'd not hurt himself he'd managed to lock himself in the toilet & it scared him rigidπŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈlesson learnt not to lock the door which is not a bad thing as I'd told him not to

Glad the manager is good so far @Franklydear but let's face it, it was a very low bar to begin with πŸ˜‚

@paintfairy ooooo you finish Friday!! Whoop whoop that's so close!! What are your work playing at??? I have a rucksack bag too, always have done it's so much more practical & wanted one DH would carry, but mine has integral clips on the straps that clip over the pram handle. Don't use the bottom of the pram, that's for your shopping & rain cover πŸ˜‚(don't forget you need a diff type of rain over for the carrycot bit to the "pram" bit usually) ah sorry that boy was directed at @Juno231

@Somatronic I was of them same attitude as you on covid, I hope you don't get it but I wasn't horrendously worried 🀞🏻so pleased you got some enthusiasm from friends that's awesome! (& stuff, brilliant!!) a tens machine is meant to be good

@bez91 how frustrating, bloody men. Mine would also do the same.

@Juno231 thanks I love her hair & how it sticks up πŸ˜‚Your bump looks amazing I think you look fab!! However, your feet, they don't look amazing πŸ™ŠπŸ˜¬are they sore? You sound highly organised now! Are you still missing anything? We find nail files the easiest at this stage

So more crappy stuff here, AF still here, but DH came home with wine last night so that helped. However, yesterday my knee decided it was once again buggered. (Might be all that walking to sleep stuff I do?!) and I'm limping half the time again now. I was hoping to start exercising now god damn it.

However in nice news B is now starting to make cute little talking noises & try to laugh when we talk to her which is so lovely, X is desperate for her to say "goo goo ga ga" πŸ˜‚

I also unpacked all the 3/6 clothes too as she's growing like a sumo wrestler like a chunky weed. My 3/6 clothes range from summer rompers to snow suits from X so got all seasons covered it seems!

Also got her passport through whoop whoop!! Holiday ideas welcome. It seems I've lost the ability to search for a holiday it's been that long

Minster2012 · 09/07/2022 15:18

And I'm continuing to listen to rob Beckett & Josh widdecombes podcast does anyone else listen? Very funny πŸ˜†

larrythelizard · 09/07/2022 15:38

Yorkshire show sounds good @Minster2012 and always good to hear how many of us are July babies!!

Literally no idea what my preferred hospital charge for parking, not my problem, that one is entirely on DH!

I've got an organiser thing which will go on the handle @paintfairy and will lob the rucksack underneath. I seem to remember from last time there's less room when it's the bassinet bit rather than the seat bit (I've got a bugaboo fox)

I had Covid in March @Somatronic and whilst not very well all was OK, spoke to a Dr at the time to get heartburn meds and he was not bothered at all that I was pregnant and had Covid (once he'd checked if I was vaxxed)

Ergh hope he gets decent overtime pay @bez91

Bump looking lovely @Juno231 - presumably MW knows your feet look like balloons and isn't concerned re pre-eclampsia? Preggo yoga on Weds suggested lying on your back (supported by cushions if need be) and putting your feet higher than your head to help with heat related swelling.

@Minster2012 have a google for your local travel counsellors rep if it's a sort of package thing you're after - I sent ours a really long random waffling brief and she came back with 4 options, of which we chose one. Very much recommended!

Paddling pool living up to expectations, even more so now DS has got out and gone to annoy DH!

@paintfairy yes what @Juno231 said on the hooks is what I meant Oh @Juno231 that doesn't look fun at all. Maybe a de-swell needed in some cold water πŸ˜† gorgeous bump 😍

@Minster2012 poor X πŸ˜† I'm sure he won't do it again. Ditto on the riding solo day 😫 currently at gymnastics the second class of the day. Sorry AF still has you, it had me a couple of weeks ago and was horrendous tbh. Today I'm having the worst pains so either ov or it's coming again πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
I definitely need to start sorting 3-6 months clothes out. Selling lots of Zs stuff he's not even worn on Vinted but it's a full time job πŸ˜‚

@Somatronic also like @larrythelizard I had covid when I was about mid point. Consultant also not bothered and I wasn't any worse than DH.

@larrythelizard your paddling pool set up is immense πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

@bez91 @Minster2012 @larrythelizard OMG I'm so useless. 🀣 Well- I do have a raincover but I've no bloody idea where it goes. So I need to check that. Never even thought that the bassinet might need a different one. Also need to check rucksack for whether it'll attach. Hooks? Can you buy handle hooks? I have a bugaboo fox also. Thinking about rain- will the stuff in the bottom of the pram not get wet if it is raining? πŸ€” Too many things to think about! And as if I ever do shopping. 🀭
@Somatronic I think loads of people have had covid and been fine. I mean obviously avoid it if you can. Being pregnant and ill and unable to take anything is rubbish! But I don't think you need to overly worry about it.
@Juno231 your bump has overtaken mine I'm sure! I told mum DH said I look like I still have at least a month to go. She was like- 2 I'd say. πŸ™„πŸ™ˆ Those feet don't look good though? I've not had any swelling at all. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
@Minster2012 I have mixed feelings on the babies growing! I guess it's cute they start doing things and interacting. But I kind of want them to stay small forever? I can't believe how fast B is growing. I don't even have any 3-6 month clothes and yet I think I'll be needing them sooner than I think! And lots, going by how many times you are changing outfits. πŸ™ˆ Oddly we've never had a bathroom door lock until a few weeks back. Probably a bad idea but it really stressed me having to go when workmen were here! Likely now mind we won't really have many in! πŸ™„
Did manage to finally get a joiner to come round today though. Said he'll send a quote within 7 days......
