+ve preg test, meant to be 6weeks preg but bleeding on off and just told blood test level is 417 is this good or bad???

the nurse wouldnt tell me anything

had internal scan today but they said they can only see thickening but I am preg following a test they did but they cant see anything atall

but they say i could be very early preg so this would explain it (if I ovulated late inmy cycle so im not really 6 weeks)

they are monitoring me

but my levels are 417 today this is the first levels I have been told

what i want to know desp is is this a good level for 6 weeks?

does anyone know anything I would be sooooooooooo grateful thank you xx

if it does not double by sunday, i would have thought it would indicate a problem, but i am not an expert.

according to this u would only be 4 weeks? could you be a month out?
although upto 35 days can be between 18 and 7 thousand!!!!

i have been trying to figure out how to say this, but unless you ov'd about 10 days late it's not looking too good. at 6w they would expect your hormone levels to be about 1,100. however thickening in the womb lining is good. i hate to ask this but did they check your fallopian tubes? fingers crossed for sunday xx

You are either

(a) pregnant but more like 4 or 5 weeks pregnant or

(b) it's not looking good -- that's not a good hCG number for 6 weeks.

Hi got my levels today from 48 hours after the last one and they had almost doubled to
791 from 417 !

I had a bleed on sat eve but only small and i have no clue how long implantation bleeding can last??

they are sort of indicating they are watching for en ectopic preg if they cant see anything in the womb soon...will keep you posted

I might be wrong, but I don't think OV has anything to do with dates, I thought they always went from the first day of your last period? Which is how I got 7 weeks on Thursday.

It doesn't really matter that much (other than so you have an idea in your head), I have found they take the EDD from the dating scan - around 12 weeks - and they stick with that.

If this is a viable pregnancy progressing well then it seems most likely that you are around 5 weeks pregnant, i.e. would have ovulated around three weeks ago (very close to Christmas).

Are they going to do a repeat scan? I think ideally you'd want another scan in about a week to ten days, when if everything is going well you should be able to see something.

They may still be concerned about possible ectopic as it's a relatively slow rise (not terrible, but relatively slow).

NJ they normally work out dates based on last period date, because in most cases those are pretty much right. But in some cases those are clearly wrong (i.e. if soitlooks were seven weeks pregnant with a healthy viable pregnancy then she would have higher hCG levels and there would have been something on the scan) and the dates will be adjusted accordingly to match with what has actually been observed. In most cases the reason why the LMP date and the observed date are out will be because ovulation didn't ake place around day 14 but was significantly different from that. They don't normally specifically base the date on ovulation, though, you're right (unless you had some kind of fertility treatment) but if they give you a "you are x weeks pregnant" figure then they are effectively telling you "you ovulated (x-2) weeks ago".

ah i see! so even though I ovulated late potentially they would consider me 7 weeks preg though would date me at the 12 week scan properly

I am trying to remember getting , erm, jiggy with it at christmas and it beats me(dh cant remember either) - it must have been memorable

so obviously as yet this little bundle in me doesnt prob have a heart beat as nothing has been detected so far

Assuming they do another scan in a week or two, and assuming they find a viable embryo/fetus there, then they will probably adjust your EDD / how many weeks pregnant you are based on what they see there (will take measurements, feed into computer program, out will come "x weeks and x days pregnant"). Then they'll schedule your 12 week scan based on that estimate, and will potentially readjust your "how pregnant am I" figure again based on the 12 week acan.

Right now (sorry to be blunt) they don't have anything to indicate whether you are 5 weeks pregnant with a viable pregnancy or 7 weeks pregnant with an ectopic pregnancy/blighted ovum. Your blood test results are cautiously encouraging but don't tell you anything definite as to whic of the possibilities it is.

i really, really dont want to be the harbinger of doom here, but please dont get too excited. exactly the same thing happened to me last year hcg had pretty much doubled and i was told that pg was viable and my dates were wrong, i too had a scan where they saw a nice thick womb lining but no baby. it was only picked up when i had yet more bleeding (thick and dark) and i had another scan, but by then it was too late to save my tube. im probably wrong (god, i hope i am) and in 8m you will be making a birth announcement but if you feel unwell then go straight to a&e.

can i ask did you bleed a few wee times and a big tuime before your tube burst and also how preg were you according to your LMP xx

can I ask what your symptoms pre your tube bursting were as I have symptoms but dont know if theyre normal or not???

right, i got my bfp on the 21st jan but started bleeding on the 26th. my gp told me i was miscarrying, but i still felt pg. so i took a test which was a bfp. i had a scan at what should have been 5+5w and couldnt see anything in my womb, except for a nice thick lining and a bfp on docs test. i had blood taken and had to go back 2d later.

i rang up after the 2nd lot of bloods and the mw told me that my hcg had nearly doubled so it was a viable pg. i had been spotting this whole time on and off.

2d later i started bleeding again this time thick dark blood and they organised a scan for the 8th. i went in (i was 6+4) and there was bubba on my tube. well my tube had burst by then. i didnt have 1 sided pain or shoulder pain just awful mid-backache and headaches. i was v swollen and didnt feel right tbh. hth!
