@arianasky yes! 💕

Annny27 · 23/05/2022 16:07

Heartburn anyone 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲 17 weeks and yesterday and today is like a burning in my throat 😪

What can we take?

Sassy144 · 23/05/2022 16:46

Hey all, just checking in after a little break. Congratulations to all those finding out the gender, how exciting! I'm nearly 7 weeks now, nausea has set in on and off, still getting cramps around once a week, but generally doing okay, trying to stay positive 🤞 analysing every symptom (or lack of!)

Debating whether or not to book an early scan or not, if I do I don't want an internal if I can avoid it. Did anyone get one through their EPU because of previous loss?

sunnyd67 · 23/05/2022 16:47

Questions regards to movements. I'm 16+4. Last weeks I was convinced I could feel movements, a very strange feeling, like bubbles, but also moving along, as if someone is floating in my belly, and low down too. For the last 4 days I haven't felt anything, nothing at all. Also 4 days ago I stopped having two pessaries per day. Have I been imagining these movements? 😭

sunnyd67 · 23/05/2022 17:00

@Sassy144 EPU offered a scan at 8 weeks due to last pregnancy loos being a partial molar, otherwise no.

Arwen7 · 23/05/2022 17:23

@Annny27 heartburn is horrible but super common. Maybe you can try things like eating small and often, a glass of milk, avoid fatty/fried/spicy foods, not lying down after eating. If that doesn't make it better or it's too uncomfortable you can get somwthing like Omeprazole. I am not sure they will sell ot over the counter, otherwise ask your GP for a prescription.

@Sassy144 I had very fluctuating symptoms early on and definitely quite a bit of cramps. Usually EPU will only scan you if there is bleeding or after 3 mc. Can you afford to pay for a private scan at 8w or so? By that time they should be able to do an abdominal one.

@sunnyd67 it's normal to not feel regular movements until up to 24w so try not to worry. Pessaries are usually weaned off after 12w too when the placenta takes over so it should not be an issue. But yes I can understand not feeling them and then feeling them it's disconcerting.

Arwen7 · 23/05/2022 17:25

@sunnyd67 my phone keeps posting before I have finished my messages sorry. I am sure you are not imagining them, they do start like bubbles/butterflies as someone mentioned earlier so most likely baby if you were not feeling that before 💕

Lizm1990 · 23/05/2022 18:02

@Sassy144 last time I had a private scan at 10 weeks but baby had passed at 9 weeks, but both the private clinic and the hospital both did an internal scan. I think I had a sonographer at the private place that wasn’t as good as she couldn’t get an image on my stomach but the hospital did, the hospital just wanted to confirm internally there was definitely no HB. But there should be reviews for a private clinic near you at least 😊

flowergarden16 · 23/05/2022 18:41

@Arwen7 @arianasky you are on day behind me! I'm sue 21st.

I feel almost totally normal now which is scary (after moaning about feeling rough for ages haha)

Have a private scan weds so fingers crossed all ok. Have my 2 year old home with a sick bug and trying to work with him here whole trying not to catch it. How does this work with two?!

Hope everyone is ok. So many baby boys due! I'm convinced I'm having a girl x

arianasky · 23/05/2022 19:05

@flowergarden16 ah amazing three of us all so close in dates 💕 ooh why are you thinking girl? Good luck Wednesday 💕🌈

flowergarden16 · 23/05/2022 19:17

Sounds a bit weird @arianasky but I know with my son he was a boy and I just have a feeling. Plus I had loads of nausea which I didn't with my son. But I guess we'll find out. Feeling a bit nervous for weds but also trying to be positive now we are past 12 weeks.

I think I'll have to have a c section so will be a week earlier anyway. What about you? X

speake1 · 23/05/2022 19:42

@Annny27 sorry you’re suffering with heartburn too, definitely Google & try and avoid heartburn causing / acidic foods. Other than that I swear by love heart sweets, they help sooo much! Xxx

Elspethelf · 23/05/2022 20:26

@Annny27 I got heartburn at night. I bought a body length pregnancy pillow that I could tie the ends together to make a donut shape. I used it to help me sleep sitting up to ease the discomfort.

Elspethelf · 23/05/2022 20:27

Good news! I had a 6 week scan today and heard a heartbeat :)

barneymcgroo · 23/05/2022 20:33

@Elspethelf Oh that's wonderful! Hearing a heartbeat certainly makes you a bit more hopeful, doesn't it?

alvaryder · 23/05/2022 20:35

@winsones crossing my legs for you! When would your due date be?

winsones · 23/05/2022 20:39

alvaryder · 23/05/2022 20:35

@winsones crossing my legs for you! When would your due date be?

Thank you. Calculator says 14th Jan. And you?

Arwen7 · 23/05/2022 21:05

Fantastic newd @Elspethelf !

arianasky · 23/05/2022 21:18

@flowergarden16 no it makes complete sense, I have a feeling boy no idea why just a feeling so we'll soon see 😂 I think I'll have to have a section aswell because I've got epilepsy it's controlled haven't had a seizure in years but extreme lack of sleep or pain/illness can cause my seizures so I imagine they'd rather me opt for a section

@Elspethelf amazing news congratulations 🎉 🌈

Sassy144 · 23/05/2022 21:19

@Arwen7 @Lizm1990 thank you yeah I think I'll book a private one around 8 weeks or so, my local one has good reviews. I think maybe I'm nervous about booking one as I had one booked before and had to cancel because of MC, but I think you can go pretty short notice if you aren't fussy about days.

flowergarden16 · 23/05/2022 21:21

Yay @Elspethelf that's amazing news!

@arianasky I had a emergency section for my first and actually was totally fine. So hoping this one will be too. Maybe they will end up on the same day! X

Lizm1990 · 23/05/2022 21:49

@Sassy144 i get that, I’m not doing one as I found at out the private one I had that I had a MMC so I’m waiting for the nhs one this time and at least I haven’t paid £50 for nothing. But also because I can’t bear that happening again. Maybe book yours super last minute?

@Elspethelf 🎉🎉🎉

@winsones im due 11th jan so close to you 😊

Cruz86 · 23/05/2022 22:46

@sunnyd67 I was feeling a lot of flutterings up until a couple of days ago, but haven't felt anything similar since. I have started to worry too!!

@aesgriff where did you get the second hand furniture from? I'm trying to find second hand so I can repaint, but my local Facebook marketplace is empty of nursery bits! 😩

Xx

@Cruz86 hey sorry for slow reply, work is just insane at the moment 🥴 we won ours from eBay! You need to filter it to your postcode then choose your distance. We went with the mothercare lulworth and got the cot for £55 and the chest of drawers with changing unit for £60! They’re immaculate as well apart from a small scratch on the cot which we did when dismantling 🫣 Bargs! I found Facebook marketplace to be rubbish for nursery furniture too xx

@Skl2021 have you thought about having a chat with your midwife and seeing if she’ll do weekly Doppler checks with you? It’s really helping me xx

dollface22 · 24/05/2022 07:51

Morning all
How is everyone doing!
I've done a few cheapies then bought some digitalis which I'm a bit confused about!
I'm 5w4 and it says 2-3 weeks now I know on the leaflet it says 4-5 weeks but I thought it should said 3+ ideally by now !
