What do you think of these boys names? Emil, Cosmo, Elliott and George

George is DH's long favourite and the safe choice. I was keen on Elliott for a while but DH objected to it for so long, so now not very sure. The other two we came up only recently- but again can't be sure..Only one week to go till birth now..so should decide fairly soon!

hmmm gonna have to go for emil for obvious reasons!

Emil/Emile was on my shortlist. Along with Inigo, Jago, Rufus.

Sometimes I think it's a good thing that we only had girls.

Like the last two names the best.

I think Emil is ok, but Cosmo makes me thing about the magazine. Sorry to any Cosmo mums, can't help it.

Elliott is generally spelled randomly. Cosmo will have difficulty being taken seriously. Emil or George I think.

You can of course give a selection of middle names so that he can choose himself at a later date!

Ladymuck makes a good point there. Elliott/Elliot/Eliott/Eliot will spend his life correcting people's spelling of his name!

George Elliott was our boys name - but we are having a girl!!!!!

My 2 favs are Cosmo and Elliot.

I would choose between Elliott and George.

Cosmo is a girl's magazine. No matter where the name's roots are, that is how it will be remembered. Adolescence is hard enough on a boy without that name. Don't do it.

Emil looks Eastern European. Emile would be French. If you are neither, don't go there. He will forever be teased as "Emily", anyway.

Cosmo also makes me think of the restaurant chain, (though our one is quite nice!) sorry! {blush]

Prefer your other choices, but remember at the end of the day, your choice

My DS is called Elliot and my nephew is Cosmo so I think they're best obviously

But I love Emil too although I do think people might have trouble spelling it (having said that, as someone said, Elliot has about 4 different spelling and even his grandma doesn't spell my DS's right )
