I know this is very early but I wanted to start a thread for those with a January 2023 due date.

I got my BFP 2 days ago and am about 4 weeks pregnant today. I already have a little boy born in November 2020 and I’m super excited for him to get a sibling but I know it’s early days and have had 2 early miscarriages in the past so slightly nervous too!

@Peonies94 the scan was amazing! Everything looked in the right position and we could see the gorgeous heartbeat flickering away (they could even tell us beats per minute). Not going to lie it still just looks like a tadpole though 😂. The place I booked suggested 7 weeks onwards is the best time to have a chance at seeing without an internal and to see the heartbeat so at 8 weeks it should be perfect for you!

Just in case it helps I was getting lots of cramps early on and they settled but I get very sharp pains now (apparently round ligament pain) so it seems you can replace one worry with another in the first trimester haha.

@PurpleSpottedLeopard So glad they seem to be taking the edge off for you. I tried them in my last pregnancy and they didn’t make a difference for me but every pregnancy is different so will give them a go again, thanks for the suggestion. Glad it’s the weekend so DH can take over the meals and running around after our wild 2.5 year old.

I have to eat something before I can step foot out of bed and every couple of hours which is the worst when you feel so nauseous you don’t want anything. I have found distraction does help (heading to the zoo this afternoon and hoping I don’t spend the whole time gagging 🙏)

Peonies94 · 21/05/2022 12:36

@Lulux33 ahh that sounds amazing ❤️! I should be able to see the same then! It’ll be crazy what a difference it’ll be in the 12 weeks scan!

PurpleSpottedLeopard · 21/05/2022 10:57

Hi @Lulux33 I’m really struggling with nausea too but have just bought some travel sickness wrist bands from Amazon that seem to be taking the edge off of it. The nausea definitely hasn’t vanished completely but feels more manageable. Fully aware they might just be a placebo but they’re working for now and drug free!

I think I might have to get some of these. I have waves of feeling like death 😂 hoping these will take the edge off!

congrats @alvaryder keeping fingers crossed for you.

my period was due today and I’ve not had any sign, and my strongest line yet on tests so I might tell my family next weekend, after I’ve booked my midwife appt.
Appreciate that’s not for everyone but I’d need the support even if something happened so thought I’d share some joy.

good luck to all those having early scans.

alvaryder · 21/05/2022 16:22

@Cherrymarket thanks! I'll be telling my family too. I prefer the support I think!

Hana89 · 21/05/2022 16:41

Congrats @Cherrymarket ✨💖 and I'm with you on the telling people. We didn't tell anyone with our first pregnancy but when it ended in MMC, we ended up telling a lot of people about it because I was in pieces for weeks and it was obvious there was something very wrong. So now I tell close people pretty much straight away. With my last MMC personally I found it so much better to have people I could lean on and also to have had the opportunity to share joy, and though I'm hoping things will work out this time, I've really enjoyed sharing the joy early with those closest to me and feeling less alone just in case. Xx

alvaryder · 21/05/2022 18:08

@TTC24 twinzie due date!
And we found out same date!

LemonZestDribbles · 21/05/2022 18:39

@Lulux33I'd take the tablets. Even with cyclizine (sp) last time I still felt really sick but they helped stop me being sick as much. Car travel bands, flat coke and bland foods can help too. The thing that helped me most in the end was evicting ds at 38 weeks 🤣🤣

@Amber17I'm probably not this time as it's a 3 hour drive to my nearest. Might still change my mind though 😬

@alvaryder welcome and congrats! 🤞🤞 for a sticky bean ❤

@Cherrymarket yay on strongest line yet. Totally agree with telling family too. I'd need their support.

Hsw202 · 21/05/2022 21:54

Hello all. Huge congratulations on your BFPs!🎉🎉

Can I please join you? I got a positive a few days ago. It’ll be my 4th baby😬😬. Think I’m 4 weeks and due around 25th Jan? I’m a bit scared and no one except my husband and me know. It’s nice to read your experiences, thank you. I’ve no symptoms and won’t contact the Homebirth midwives (my 3rd was born at home) for another 2 weeks or so to register.

All the best to those going for scans. Xx

Cat2hop · 21/05/2022 23:52

@LemonZestDribbles thanks - it did shake me a bit, really diaorientating. Last night I was dreaming about the birth and establishing breastfeeding (definitely more positive, even though the birth in my dream was the opposite of what I would want)
@Amber17 I think I'll be similar to you re: timing of visits and scan. Good luck!

I've heard restavit (doxylamine) works well for nausea. I'm 5+6 today and none at the moment but I think it hit me week 7 first time around

welcome @Hsw202 and congrats!
I am hoping for a homebirth this time all being well.
did you use a pool?

we don’t have a separate team to contact in this area, everything goes through the GP initially. It’s strange how it differs so much area to area.

Shellbe88 · 22/05/2022 06:15

Hi all

Found out I was pregnant last week first baby and have been trying for two years. Im just over 5 weeks pregnant.

At first I felt so so sick but the sickness has subsided. Should I be worried? Breasts are still so sore and I’m bloated and getting pains and twinges. Just so anxious I’m going to miscarry feel like I’ll go mad!!!

Has anyone else had morning sickness that stops? I did get some yesterday morning but it passed quickly after some porridge whereas the first few days I knew I was sick all day just dry heaving.

thanks

Hi Cherrymarket. I’d totally recommend homebirth if you don't have a complicated pregnancy. Here in Surrey it means all your appointments are at home too. No I didn’t have a pool as my 2nd was born very quickly- nearly in the car on the way to hospital, so I thought the faff might not be worth it. I was right! In fact I had my 3rd before the Homebirth team made it to our house she was born so quickly- but all was well. They arrived under 10 mins later and delivered the placenta. It’s so much more relaxed and homely at home and it was SO special that my older 2 were just asleep upstairs throughout then met their baby sister 5 hours later when they woke up🥰

Thank you for this!
I am thinking this might be the case for me as well, as my labour was quick for my first. I think I would love the pool. I’d get in at the first contraction 🤣

great to know it is recommended. I would be prepared to birth alone too (secretly I think I would prefer it, but I won’t tell them that in case I set off free birth red flags)

@Shellbe88 i think it is normal for fluctuations to happen, there were ups and downs in my last pregnancy and even a fairly large bleed, yet all was ok, amazingly.

alvaryder · 22/05/2022 09:31

Anyone else overanalysing all their possible symptoms? I'm so early it's the only way of knowing that I'm still pregnant I guess.
Im having to physically restrain myself from bulk buying pregnancy tests and constantly peeing on them. If I get past the first milestones I hope I chill out a bit!

God I forgot how stressful this all is!!

I’ve tested way more than I did with my first… I think it’s because still don’t quite believe it.

I have noticeable bloat already though. 😣

Waitin · 22/05/2022 16:24

Hello everyone congratulations on your big news and I am 5 weeks happy overall but stomach pain and cramps and sore back manageable anyone else on same boat ??

Nyxxie · 22/05/2022 18:36

Hi everyone and congratulations! I'm a bit late to the party but got my first ever BFP a few days ago, now 4 weeks and due on the 29th Jan.

Just been reading through the thread and it's so reassuring to hear others feeling the same way as me. I have been feeling a lot of anxiety that it's not going to stick, but trying to be cautiously optimistic! Hope it's ok to join you all 😊

Nyxxie · 22/05/2022 18:54

P.S. is anyone able to post the link for the FB group again please?

brogan12 · 22/05/2022 18:58

@Waitin congratulations! I had cramps early on from about 4w until a few days ago. I'm currently 6w 4d and my tests keep getting darker so think the cramps are hopefully normal! It's so hard not to worry about every little thing isn't it!

Congratulations to you!! It's so exciting but quickly turns into nerves! Just take each day as it comes and try not to worry! 🎉

Peonies94 · 22/05/2022 20:02

@Nyxxie congratulations! I think I was in a few conception threads with you!!

@alvaryder totally agree! I’m doing a test every two days and it’s all I can think about! I’m so anxious, I’m really hoping the next weeks go quickly and then hopefully I’ll relax a little! I’m not even 4 weeks yet, feels like I’ve known for ages!

Waitin · 22/05/2022 20:17

@brogan12 Thanks for reassuring and congrats to you too 😊and also forgot to mention heavily bloated upper tummy and feel like my bump is visible already 🤓

Nyxxie · 22/05/2022 20:26

@Peonies94 thanks and congratulations to you as well! Yes I recognise your name, am I right in thinking you also had a short LP?
