Hi :)

I'm posting this here as I thought there would be more success stories here than on the TTC pages.

I am currently going through my first round of IVF. I have my egg collection on Monday and then will find out if we are doing a fresh transfer or a FET next cycle.

I have been trying to stay as positive as I can but it really helps me to hear about other IVF successes! If you have any success stories which resulted in a BFP (preferably first round of IVF) then please share below as it would really help me :)

Lots of love to all xx

Me!

currently 22+4 and my little boy is kicking away, everyday feels like a dream and I know how fortunate I am that this worked for us. The anxiety never goes away but it only takes 1 embryo xx

Mirabella3 · 21/04/2022 13:49

I was ttc for 10 years and am now 22+1 with my miracle baby who was a FET! Good luck for your egg collection on Monday!

Emilyh92 · 21/04/2022 15:19

@DNAshelicase Congratulations!! I hope everything's going well with your pregnancy and thank you for sharing. Honestly hearing things like this makes me feel so much more hopeful! x

@Emilyh92 me!

TTC for three years, had a laparoscopy to diagnose and excision for endometriosis.
Currently 26+2 pregnant after our first round.

The wait after egg collection to transfer was the worst part for me emotionally just to pre-warn you (not to scare you as you may be different!).
Because of the endo and other health issues they retrieved 10 eggs, 8 mature but only 2 fertilised. Thankfully both were top quality and made it to blastocyst.

Best of luck to you!! X

I had my beautiful ivf baby in January this year from our first round and we have 5 frosties in the freezer. Good luck!!

Kirkyssketchbook · 27/04/2022 22:02

I can testify that it only takes 1 good embryo! 35 year old, first IVF cycle, collected 6 eggs (but one was just a shell), only 1 embryo was viable. Now 17 weeks pregnant with our little miracle :)

Just on a side note, I found the injections and procedures fine. The hardest bit was waiting to find out how many embryos made it

Embryologists at complete fertility were amazing

Xx

Best of luck OP.

I had my miracle IVF baby November 2020. I have PCOS and had fallen pregnant once naturally but unfortunately miscarried. I had years of infertility after this and began my short protocol IVF in February 2020 at the age of 36 (nearly 37), I couldn't believe my luck when I got a positive after my first round. It was a nerve wracking and anxiety filled pregnancy but I have the happiest 17 month old little boy now and he is our world.

We have 3 frosties which we had hoped to use for a sibling but to our complete and utter shock I fell pregnant by accident earlier this year and I'm now 15 weeks pregnant.

Keeps believing, it can happen xx

Heyduggee123 · 28/04/2022 13:21

I have 3 year old twins, but had to go through 5 rounds of IVF/ICSI. It's a hard journey for sure but lots and lots of people have success with their first round. You have to stay positive, otherwise why would we do it??

I'm now noticing the dates of your original post, I really hope your egg collection went well.

LS2020 · 28/04/2022 13:29

Good luck OP hope it all goes well!

28, first cycle of IVF, no major issues found on our testing/reason for infertility. Had been TTC about 2.5 years with only one MMC.

Seconding the it only takes one - can’t overly remember our numbers but we got like 8/9 mature eggs, only one fertilised and that little Eggo is currently 38+1w and making me impatient to meet them currently. Agree the wait on embryos is the hardest bit, but that might have been partly as we knew we only had the one which fertilised. Best of luck with your collection, make sure you have a treat for you at home when you get back x

2mumlife · 28/04/2022 18:29

@Emilyh92 Hi, IVF with donor sperm here. We tried 4 IUIs (all BFN) 1 fresh tranfer (BFN) a FET which ended in a Chemical Pregnancy, but then cycle #7 our FET resulted in a BFP and now 21 weeks and everything looks to be going well.

Best of luck with your IVF journey

Hi all, I’ve been a bit quiet in the last few days as I was waiting for an update on how many made it to day 5.

Our numbers were: 25 collected, 19 mature, 16 fertilised, but only 3 made it to day 5.

I’m slightly devastated as out of 16 I really expected to be able to freeze more than 3 embryos. I know it only takes 1 but having so few just increases the worry and pressure on each transfer.

The grades are 5AA, 5BB and 4AB.

Was anyone successful with embryos of these grades? X

My first round was very similar, but I didn’t manage any at day 5 so you’re doing fabulous. Sounds like you were a little over stimulated. The best thing you can do now is try not to stress (😵‍💫 I know easier said than done) let yourself recover so you’re in the best possible shape for your FET. Please don’t be too despondent xx

Opinion4321 · 30/04/2022 19:53

Hi OP, ah I remember how horrible the wait is. I had my amazing DD (who was a 5BB) after our first cycle. I had 16 eggs fertilized but only 1 blastocyst made it to day 5. I was convinced it wouldn't work and that something must be very wrong for only 1 to make it. However, it did work and I've since had two other children conceived naturally and very quickly!

Wishing you the absolute best of luck x

Passanotherjaffacake · 01/05/2022 22:12

Both my DD and DS were 5BB OP, also both from fresh ivf cycles. DD was first cycle, first transfer. Had one FET which sadly didn’t work then another fresh cycle and currently pregnant with a DS. Have multiple issues, Endo, adeno, fibroids, low AMH, surgical scarring and ovarian cysts. IVF just blasted past all of them to be honest.

wishing you all the best, sounds like some top quality embryos. I’m never surprised when people have lower number get to blast phase - nature would never create 22 perfect eggs in a cycle! I found the Create clinic explanation very helpful in these circumstances. The 4 may catch up - DS was a 4 until literally just before transfer when he started hatching.

2mumlife · 03/05/2022 09:00

Hi OP. Three in the freezer is a very good outcome so don’t be discouraged at all. It does sound like you were overstimulated. For comparison, I had first cycle at 32 and second at 33 normal to high AMH for age normal bin no health and no fertility issues (we need treatment because same sex couple needing donor sperm).

Fiest cycle 4 eggs collected, 2 mature and birth made it to day 5 (5AA transferred fresh BFN, 4AA FET chemical pregnancy). They labelled me a “poor responder” to stims after this. Second cycle changed protocol due to previous poor response. 6 collected all mature all made it to day 5, 3 good enough to freeze. First one we transferred (5AA) worked :)

Hopefully one of your Frosties works, but if you do need another egg collection, remember it really is quality over quantity and with really big numbers of collected eggs normally don’t result in any more Frosties than with a less aggressive response. Good luck for your transfer!

IsabelHerna · 10/05/2022 11:25

Hi,

I guess I'm a success story, at least for now.

I am going to be 41 in September, single and I have managed to get a BFP on my second cycle. I am still very afraid that something is going to go wrong, but I am taking it a day at a time. I want to wish good luck for everyone going through transfer x

resipsa · 10/05/2022 11:30

My IVF baby is nearly 7 😱. Poor quality embryo if I remember correctly but is a robust child now! Good luck 🤞.

AliceAbsolum · 10/05/2022 14:11

3 is really good!

I'm 9 weeks after 7 years and 4 rounds and a MC.
I think you just have to keep going, step by step until you get there.

ToCaden · 10/05/2022 15:31

Mine were fairly similar. 18 eggs collected. About 7 or 8 fertilised, and ended up with one fresh implanted and three in the freezer.

The implanted one was kicking my pelvis earlier today. 26 weeks pregnant.

I tried distracting myself for as much of the waits as possible and just telling myself if it didn't work out i could try again. Thankfully got a nice clear positive. Still agonised before 7 week scan (saw heartbeat), then 12 week scan (everything fine), and the is it real feeling is gradually going with each new milestone.

Good luck!!!

2021ivfagain · 21/06/2022 09:17

Hi. Did anyone have success with 9 cell day 3 embryos which became healthy blastocysts? Thanks

Char2022 · 21/06/2022 09:36

I’m 11weeks with a successful 5 day, grade 2, early blastocyst! Still can’t quite believe it!

2021ivfagain · 21/06/2022 09:56

@Char2022

Congratulations. That’s really good news. Do you know what cell it was at day 3? Thanks

TimeToChangeItUpNow · 21/06/2022 10:15

Me! First fresh cycle of ivf and we got my 9 year old. 2nd frozen cycle we got my 7 year old (19 months between them).

I realise we were hugely fortunate but it was still quite a journey to have them. I have PCOS and endometriosis.

Char2022 · 21/06/2022 10:25

Thank you so much!!

Unfortunately I don’t know, my clinic don’t check at day 3, only check on day 5 to see which ones have made it. I had 3 day 5 blasts make it. 2 of them were only early blasts and all of them were grade 2. The first which was the one that made it past early blast failed and now this second one took! One early blast frostie left for later :-)

I was sure this one had failed as I was super unwell with flu like symptoms, had to be put on steroids for a chest infection and I also bled - which must have been implantation bleeding. Almost fell over when they called to tell me it had worked!
