Hcg only risen by 64% and previous ectopic

Hi all
Based on my LMP i should be 6 weeks pregnant today. I had a previous ectopic which ruptured at a similar gestation so im very anxious.
I have been spotting brown discharge when wiping for exactly a week now and on friday had some fresh blood when wiping so went to a&e where the gynae team scanned me (5 weeks 4 days) and saw nothing but a 2mm area in my womb which meant i currently have a PUL.
Thye took bloods and i went back 48 hours later when they called me yesterday evening they said my bloods rose by 64% but they would expect a 66% increase so cannot rule out ectopic. My levels went from 600 and something to 1000 and something and so will rescan me on Wednesday morning.
Should i lose hope? This look like another ectopic has anyone got any positive stories. I suffer with severe anxiety and almost died with my last ectopic.

I think you just have to wait until Wednesday, technically your HCG levels should be high enough then to be able to detect the sac in the uterus. I want to say the level needs to be about 2000 before anything can be seen, could be a bit off though.

So it's good that they will be scanning again

Until then, try as best you can not to worry, I know it's easier said than done!

@Regenbogen22 thank you they said the levels need to be around 1500 to see something on the scan
I cant help but think 64% is another ectopic and that my levels are very low for 6 weeks 😞

Possibly but it's how they rise which counts.

@Regenbogen22 do you think 64% is enough of an increase

Technically they say it should double, but there are always stories on here of slower rising levels where everything turned out okay. I'm so sorry, I don't think anyone can tell you what you want to hear right now, the only people who can do that are the medical staff on Wednesday

Hi how did you get on? Fingers crossed it went well. I’m in a similar position I found out last Wednesday I’m pregnant while I’ve got the copper IUD in. I’ve had a previous ectopic and 3 miscarriages. But have one gorgeous boy who is now 5yrs old. Called doctors they got me into EPAU did a internal scan and found nothing (expecting to be 4-5 weeks pregnant) nothing seen in my tubes either. Told me to do some bloods came back 566 HCG then went back 48 hours later and it’s more than doubles at 1200. Nurse said it was positive and might just be way too early said they would book me for a scan in two weeks now having 6 days left and it’s driving me insane. I was panicking it was another ectopic I am now abroad for a week on holiday with pains no bleeding but not sure if it’s just stretching paid. Back Monday night before scan Tuesday morning and panicking is an understatement. I keep ready mixed things so really upset an worried at the moment.

@Hannah2207 i went back for the scan and still have pregnancy of unknown location as they could see "maybe a yolk sac maybe not a yolk sac" in my womb soo early to determine still. So took more bloods they were 1386 on Monday and today 2241. They said the increase is ok but they expect more. It could be late ovulation, could be ectopic they just have no clue. Will rescan next wednesday

Did they do an internal scan? I hope so, they're much more accurate at such an early stage

Oh no 🥺🤞fingers crossed for you hun. It’s gone up quite a bit so that’s positive. Just don’t know how they can say unknown location if they can see something in the right place (possibly)

fingers crossed it’s just way to early and you ovulated later then expected that’s what I keep telling myself also that it was just way to early. And I am exhausted and have sore boobs. Keep getting dull twinges down below and back so was worried about it but could be completely normal. I just hate waiting and got another 6 days just worried they won’t still see anything on the scan even though my levels have gone up x

@Hannah2207 ive had dull twinges too and had the brown spotting on and off for a week. Its horrific isnt it???

It really is :( I don’t want to get my hopes up having positive thoughts and then massively down and negative ones. I just need to know either way so can prepare myself it’s mentally draining to be honest and the wait is the worst thing ever

This is how i ruptured last time cause they decided to just keep monitoring and left me to it so im petrified

Oh no hope your okay hun that sounds awful. Today not so great thrown up three times since early hours of the morning. Have no idea is this pregnancy related or a stomach bug 🥺 how are you? X

Hello ladies, I’ve just read all the messages on this post. I was searching around for some reassurance and comfort. I am in a similar position.

I had my first ectopic August 2021 after 2 normal births, no explanation why they kept monitoring me and I misscarried naturally. I had a second ectopic November 2021 they kept me monitored however my tube ended up rupturing and had emergency surgery with my right tube removed. I had a positive pregnancy test about 10 days ago. I have had a scan but they couldn’t see anything as it’s just too early I have another scan booked for Monday.

this evening I had some pink spotting, I’ve been having pain on my left side all day it comes and goes.

I am so nervous I hope all goes well for you ladies, for us all 🙏

@Hannah2207 oh goodness me i hope that's pregnancy related. I am okay my anxiety is driving me absolutely loopy! I have mild cramps/ tugging feeling on my left side and around my groin area and i dont know how worried i should be.

@Chhmanar i am so sorry youre going through this too its awful waiting around with this anxiety, ive had all kinds of spotting since mt BFP

@Katieellen95x I had an appointment today they said there's a little bit of blood in my uterus but the pregnancy is definitely growing my hcg went from 188 (Tuesday) to today 890. Monday all will show I hope. I hope all goes well for you.

Yeh they said they'll scan. When will you be having a scan?

@Chhmanar I'm in a&e as the pain is not subsiding so theyve taken more bloods and will go from there once they have those results... Praying its normal pregnancy cramps but I'm really not hopeful anymore

@Katieellen95x I know it's really hard because you can't get excited just yet 😔 the doctor said to me yesterday just relax and don't worry until there's something to worry about. So just try not to worry I know it's easier said then done but potentially everything could be fine and whatever's meant to be will be.

With my youngest boy I had bleeding all the way through until about 9 weeks and they couldn't even see a heartbeat until I was around 7 weeks. I went in to get the injection done, they scanned and found a heartbeat I was so surprised because I genuinely thought that was it. Don't worry there is always hope hun.
