Hi everyone. my scan didn't give me the news i wanted unfortunately. I think i should be 7 weeks 1 day (from ovulation test, i didnt have a period after last miscarriage) but it's measuring a week behind. Positives are that normal heartbeat, in right place, yolk sac looks good. But Im not feeling positive at all.

Hope everyone else has had better news xx

arianasky · 22/04/2022 16:01

@Stargazer89 oh no, well i had a scan on what I thought was 6 + 4 from O tests and 7 from LMP ( although the same as you it was a mc not a period ) and there was only a gestational and yolk sac no fetal pole they thought I was 5 weeks and I was sure that was that. I went back 10 days later and baby was measuring 7+3 with heartbeat aswell so when it's so early I think it can just be dated a few days out due to size, I have everything crossed for you 💕🙏🏻

Annny27 · 22/04/2022 16:04

Perhaps your body geared up to ovulate I.e produced LH picked up on the test but didn't actually ovulate untill a few days/ a week later. It happens so often @Stargazer89

Keeping everything crossed for you!

Tulip1112 · 22/04/2022 16:07

@Stargazer89 sending hugs and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I have a scan next Tuesday when I am supposed to be just 6 weeks to see if there is a heartbeat... if there is they will put me on cyclogest... could they do the same for you? Just a thought! I really empathise with how you're feeling. Please reach out if you want to chat 💛 x x x

flowergarden16 · 22/04/2022 16:21

@Stargazer89 I was about six days behind in my first scan - it's so so hard to measure that early so don't lose hope. Go back in two weeks. X

Stargazer89 · 22/04/2022 16:22

Thank you everyone. I last had my HCG measured on 5th march and it was 4 (so they classed that as end of miscarriage) then had a positive ovulation test 11days after that, i did think that was early to ovulate at the time. My only hope is that maybe my body got ready to ovulate but didn't that time. If i hadn't done an ovulation test then I probably would have been happy with measuring 6weeks 1 day because that would mean 6 weeks 6 days since start of new cycle. Heart beat was 111! I just have an awful feeling about it.

Also im off away with parents on monday until Thursday and im dreading miscarrying then because they don't know im pregnant and i'd rather not tell them.

@Tulip1112 that hasn't been mentioned to me? i had a private scan because the EPU won't see me until 3 miscarriages x

Willow11981 · 22/04/2022 16:52

@stargazer …… really sorry the scan didn’t go quite as you had hoped but like a lot of others have said, it does sound possible your dates are a little out because of the previous mc. I will keep everything crossed for you for a positive outcome!!

Willow11981 · 22/04/2022 16:55

its still such early days but I am shocked to say My scan went ok today.
measuring 7 weeks with a heartbeat and apparently everything looks as it should at this stage!
I was 100 % convinced it was going to be bad news as I feel absolutely normal!!!

scoutcat · 22/04/2022 17:06

Congratulations everyone who has had great news at a scan! 🥰 it's so lovely to see.

My anxiety has kicked in a bit today as I don't really feel pregnant even though I felt so rough and sick as a dog yesterday. Aren't our brains cruel?

I'm going to Alton Towers tomorrow, luckily just to CBeebies Land with my 3yo and apparently I can't go on any rides. Not even the in the night garden boat ride 🤣 going to be a fun day. Not! 🤣

Stargazer89 · 22/04/2022 17:11

@Willow11981 congratulations on your lovely scan news and thanks for your kind words about mine. It's so tough being pregnant after loss.

Tulip1112 · 22/04/2022 17:14

@Stargazer89 may be worth calling your local EPU and asking? When I had my second loss I asked to speak to a registrar to get some advice around what I can do differently next time to stop me from having to have the recurrent miscarriage testing. I kind of posed the option that giving me cyclogest (progesterone) now would be way cheaper than having to get my husband and I through all the testing if I had another (3rd) miscarriage. I know a lot of ladies in here are on it so may have some advice too? I don't have it yet, praying I will on Tuesday x x x

Willow11981 · 22/04/2022 17:40

@Stargazer89 …….i managed to get a private prescription for Cyclogest as my GP wouldn’t prescribe! Could be worth looking into if EPU won’t?

calimc83 · 22/04/2022 17:43

@mrshodgy21 ahh thanks for your reply. I do wonder if my last pregnancy ended because of one of those conditions or something similar as they told me on the scan that baby had swelling around the head and heart which was very probably some sort of genetic issue x

Stargazer89 · 22/04/2022 17:43

@Willow11981 Thanks I will look in to it 😌

flowergarden16 · 22/04/2022 17:51

Congrats @Willow11981

@scoutcat tact sounds....interesting! Haha

I have a load of friends over for the day, have to cook and watch everyone drink when I feel Confused

Willow11981 · 22/04/2022 18:02

Thanks @flowergarden16 :…… shocked!

sunnyd67 · 22/04/2022 18:30

@Stargazer89 I'm sorry you didn't get the news you wanted, but hopefully when you go back everything will look as it should 🙏🏻 it might be that your ovulation was off, you can get positive ovulation tests if you have HCG in your system - I say this from experience. Do try cyclogest, I think it's the one things that has kept my pregnancy going well so far. I've also asked EPU to stay on it up to 16 weeks just to be safe, my GP wouldn't prescribe it as I had private fertility treatment, so EPU came to the rescue and wrote them an email stating they must prescribe it. So I got my medication today. If you keep pushing I'm sure they will prescribe to you, there is some useful information on Tommy's website, prism studies and NICE guidelines that you can print out and show them.

@Willow11981 glad you had some good news. 🤩

My dating scan went well, but I still have a small area of blood in the uterus, I just want my body to absorb it so I don't have to worry about it.

calimc83 · 22/04/2022 19:40

@scoutcat 🙈🙈🙈🙈 argh panicking! Went to flamingo land last week and went on a few 'baby' rides with my 2yr old....have I done something really stupid ?? X

scoutcat · 22/04/2022 19:44

@calimc83 no I don't think so I'm definitely going to go on the baby ones with my son. I'll just use my common sense and anything that jerks about a bit is a no from me but anything gentle I'll go on! Please don't worry, I'm sure the restrictions are soooo over cautious!

flowergarden16 · 22/04/2022 19:56

@calimc83 I went body boarding last week Shock I think it's the adult rides or kids ones that jolt that you want to be wary of sure it's fine!

sunnyd67 · 23/04/2022 00:10

Anyone struggling to sleep? Getting comfortable in bed? I keep tossing and turning, I feel like I don't know where to put my legs, they feel very restless. Also feeling stretching and pulling in the lower stomach - which I find uncomfortable and then hard to find a comfortable position to sleep in.

Lou2022 · 23/04/2022 05:53

Oh I wouldn't worry about the rides the parks are just covering their own backs. I went to disneyland paris at 6 weeks and went on all the toddler rides and even thunder Mountain. I just avoided any that you have to have those over shoulder harnesses. Baby is very well cushioned in the first trimester!

scoutcat · 23/04/2022 06:56

I've woken up so worried today. With my last pregnancy that ended in miscarriage, I had these intense pains around where my c section scar was and I was doubled over in pain crying. I was stupid and never mentioned it to anyone. I can't remember how many weeks I was when it happened. I then miscarried at 12 weeks and have no idea when it stopped growing or why I miscarried.

I've just woken up and sat on the toilet and had the same pains again. Right on my scar area below my belly button. Only doubling over made the pain stop. I'm so scared it's going to end the same way.

I'm thinking of booking a private scan for tomorrow morning. My last scan was at EPU on Tuesday. Would you book or not?

flowergarden16 · 23/04/2022 07:26

Sorry to hear that @scoutcat but that kind of pain without bleeding can be totally normal. Can Rob call the EPU for advice? I'd probably get a scan for my peace of mind x

scoutcat · 23/04/2022 07:28

@flowergarden16 Thank you for replying! EPU is closed on a weekend here 😫 why does everything go wrong on a weekend?! I have sort of managed to calm myself. I am a bit constipated and I've just been to the loo properly (TMI) and it has gone away a bit so that is reassuring. I think I will book a private scan just to stop myself losing my mind.
