Your GP needs to prescribe it or can you self refer to epu to get it? It doesn't matter if you had private ivf tell your gp about the tommys guidelines (there's a handy print out you can give them and say it's NICE guidelibes) and if they refuse to prescribe ask them to explicitly right on your medical notes that they are going against NICE guidelines in refusing to prescribe xz

sunnyd67 · 19/04/2022 19:01

I had a private scan, the lady that works there also works at EPU, I asked her about progesterone and she said to go to my GP so assume they are not prescribing progesterone?

Annny27 · 19/04/2022 19:10

@sunnyd67 After asking my gp about 15 times and them saying it was only untill 12 weeks, I called the epu and asked them what the guidelines were and then they said 16. I then phoned back my gp and said that the epu had advised me to take for 16 weeks. The gp wanted confirmation so the epu were able to email them the guidelines. Is that something you could do tomorrow? It's such a faff and I am so sorry you are also having to jump through hoops for it as well 💗💗

sunnyd67 · 19/04/2022 19:13

@Annny27 I will be trying my IVF clinic tomorrow, but I doubt they will prescribe it as my plan only says 12 weeks. I'll then try EPU and GP again, hopefully I'll get somewhere. I will try Tommy's pregnancy line too.

Skl2021 · 19/04/2022 19:47

@aesgriff aww no don't feel pressured why are they guessing? Is it cos your not drinking or something? X

Cruz86 · 19/04/2022 21:23

We found out at about 3.30 @Skl2021 and he got our first choice 🥳 So relieved!! Oh it's so difficult isn't it. There's always something to worry about 😞 When is your scan?

I've changed my vitamins to just folic acid and vitamin d now @Bridgey8 and it's been that way for a good 2-3 weeks. Would it be those that could cause it? I did read about it being related to increased progesterone @Annny27, but also read it can be a sign of group b strep 🤦🏼‍♀️ Will see what comes back from my swab! I'm glad it's not just me though.

@aesgriff let me know when your results come back! I think you'll be fine with the komboucha too, just keep an eye out for any sickness over the next 24-48 hours, but it's very very rare.

@Cruz86 brill news! 🎉 One less thing to worry about! It is on Sunday 😬 not long now! Xx

Tulip1112 · 20/04/2022 11:47

Morning everyone! I am not feeling good today 5+2, 3rd pregnancy after two miscarriages and I had some bleeding yesterday. Spoke to the EPU and they can't do anything until my scan on Tuesday so I have to just sit and wait until then. Feeling so despondent and sad. I haven't miscarried but it's hard not to think it's looming. Would someone be able to give me some hope? Maybe it's not all going wrong? 😞

speake1 · 20/04/2022 12:07

Somehow managed to lock myself out my old account, hope you are all doing ok! 💕

@Tulip1112 so sorry that you’ve had some bleeding, it’s so concerning and anxiety inducing when it happens 🥺 Most of the ladies on this thread have had some sort of bleeding in their early pregnancy (or ongoing at the moment) and have been ok so far 🙏🏼🤞🏼 Although it has been your and all of our previous experience of it, it doesn’t necessarily mean the worst is going to happen, it can just be one of those things unfortunately 😭 I had some bleeding at 7 weeks, all was checked at the time & am now 13w2 with a successful dating scan last week. Although we’re nowhere near the finish line hopefully that can give you some hope & reassurance ahead of your appt next week. Sending hugs and thinking of you xxx

Tulip1112 · 20/04/2022 12:25

@speake1 I'm trying to stay calm. Just got to get through 6 days then the EPU will be able to look at everything on a scan I hope. Will keep praying and trying to stay calm! So happy to hear about your successful dating scan 🙏🤩 thank you lovely 💛 x x x

moomoose · 20/04/2022 12:25

Hi everyone, I've just found out that I'm 4w4 after a previous MMC in Sept 2020. It's taken a LONG time to get pregnant again, and I'm really worried I'll have another loss. I had an early scan last time when I was supposed to be 7w, and there wasn't a heartbeat. I had to wait 2 weeks to confirm the pregnancy wasn't viable, and then I opted for surgery.

I'm worried the same thing will happen again, what do you think the chances are of being offered an early scan on the NHS because of my previous loss? I'd imagine not very high, given it wasn't ectopic etc, and it's only happened once...

Srx1 · 20/04/2022 13:03

Hello! I had a mc last summer and when I got pregnant again I called the EPU to ask if I can get an early scan because I had a mc and they told me i need to speak to my GP to refer me. I called my Gp and explained what happened and he called the EPU and they booked me in for my reassurance scan at 8 weeks. So definitely do that. I was going to go to a private scan if they hadn’t booked me in as I had a blighted ovum last time and had no idea what was happening until i started bleeding.

moomoose · 20/04/2022 13:23

Thanks @Srx1. I'm going to self-refer to the midwife at 6 weeks so I'll ask the GP to refer me for an early scan then too. I hope everything worked out for you.

Srx1 · 20/04/2022 13:32

No problem @moomoose . Good luck!🍀 I know how you feel and I hope everything will be ok. 🤞🏻 Try to relax, although I know it is easier said than done.

My 8week scan was great although I was dreading it bcs of what happened before. I worry a lot in general. It kept me calm for some time but now I am again scared as my nausea stopped last week at 10weeks however I still have some breast soreness. And I need to wait for almost 3 weeks for my scan so not sure how will I stay sane until then.

aesgriff · 20/04/2022 18:23

@Tulip1112 sending you a hand hold ♥️ Pregnancy after loss is so scary!! Xx

@Skl2021 not long to go until Sunday! My belly is huge.. I look 6 months! All rock hard and solid and just uncomfy. How are you feeling? Xx

@Cruz86 how are you feeling? Had 💩 all
of this morning and really gassy but nothing else.. also saw baby at our dating scan today and measuring ahead so that’s a relief too 🥰 all starting to feel a bit real now xx

aesgriff · 20/04/2022 18:35

Oh also I forgot to say they found a little pocket of blood in the womb, nothing to worry about but said a bit more could come out.. explains the countless amount of bleeding I’ve had! Every private scan I’ve been told ‘we can’t see a reason for the bleeding’ 🙄 xx

aesgriff · 20/04/2022 18:35

@Cruz86 sorry also forgot to say my vaginal swab results came back normal for everything!! Xx

flowergarden16 · 20/04/2022 18:36

Great news @aesgriff

Skl2021 · 20/04/2022 19:22

What has happened to Mumsnet mine had all changed and it's horrible 🤣🤦

@aesgriff aww wow you still have ages to go yet 🙊 I don't even have a bump I just look fat 🤦 and it's not hard definitely can't feel my uterus 🤔 just another thing to worry about 🤦🙊 xx

Tulip1112 · 20/04/2022 19:23

Thank you @aesgriff... it's so fab being able to share concerns with people who just get it 💛

aesgriff · 20/04/2022 20:03

@Skl2021 I think it’s just my chub gone hard!! Im
probably looking at last nights dinner and going awww 🤣🤣 what does a hard uterus feel like?! My mumsnet has changed too.. wtf!! Xx

@flowergarden16 how are you doing? Xx

@Tulip1112 just make sure you share how you feel here and don’t keep it in. We all get it xx

flowergarden16 · 20/04/2022 20:09

I have put on so much weight. Every time I feel sick I eat and did the same in my last pregnancy before Christmas for 12 weeks! Haha

I'm ok @aesgriff thanks for asking. Have another scan Friday (private one) and really nervous. I should be 8+5 but I think I lost the last baby around 6-8 weeks Confused

Crossing it all x

aesgriff · 20/04/2022 20:13

@flowergarden16 keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🏻 So hard when triggers like this come up. I’ve also put on a lot of weight… they weighed me today and I said oh my trainers are really chunky as if they are the reason for the gain 🤣 xx

flowergarden16 · 20/04/2022 20:20

God I know my bmi will be about 1000 now haha.

I had my booking appt come through for tomorrow but I've moved it to next week as don't want to go if I've already miscarried. Ugh. Roll on Friday...

X

Skl2021 · 20/04/2022 20:41

@aesgriff haha yes I just look chunky 🤣🤦 mine is horrible everything looks the same and I'm not getting notifications can't work it properly 🤣🤔 I'm not sure how it feels never felt it. Midwife's feel it tho don't they and measure it each time. Mine just all feels flabby 🤣 xx
