..The stats online are reassuring; I just wanted to check that there are no real people (ie Mners!) who have info to the contrary!

Vasectomy 4 years ago - no more babies so far......

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 07/01/2008 14:01

Snip 11 months ago and I am convinced I will be the 1 in a 100!

littleboo · 07/01/2008 14:03

I know of one friend who this did happen to ( just one mind )

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 07/01/2008 17:03

How long after the snip did she conceive?

littleboo · 07/01/2008 17:06

Not sure NAB to be honest think over a year later ish!!!!They do say that the tubes can regrow.

serenity · 07/01/2008 17:09

BF had a little boy on Boxing Day, her husband had the snip over 5 years ago...........(and yes it's definitely his)

His test results show that his sperm count is still low enough for the snip to be counted as 'working', but it only takes one of the little buggers doesn't it!

Flibbertyjibbet · 07/01/2008 17:10

Yes they do. There are no 100% guarantees with the snip surgery. There was a couple tried to sue the nhs for negligence or something a few years back - they conceived after either snip or sterilisation - the judge said that no one should want to be compensated for the blessing of a healthy child. Its only a remote chance of it happening though - I would think one in several tens of thousands of men who had the snip. Someone will be along with some statistics in a min...

serenity · 07/01/2008 17:11

BF was told 1/4000 for chances of a spontaneous reversal.........

temp · 07/01/2008 17:14

Bloody hell....

It's just that AF is due-ish. I don't count days anymore, not need normally, but am pretty regular.

Last night, thought I'd come on. Brownish stuff indicating start of AF (as is normal).. so inserted tampon (sorry if TMI.. not used to posting these kind of threads!).. but this morning.. zilch.

Boobs are SO sore (this happens every few AFs mid the late cycle, eases once AF starts.) Nipples feel sore too.

Few stomach twinges as if I am going to come on. Nothing.

So was just wondering.. and thinking about "implantation" (eek) bleeding. What's that look like then?

Am sure to be on by morning though I'd imagine..

Sounds like I felt the week I found out I was pg with DS1.

serenity · 07/01/2008 17:25

Bf came into work last year, complaining about nausea, tiredness and sore breasts, I made some crack about her being pg because I remembered reading a thread on here about reversing vasectomies which freaked her out so much she tested.....and then tested again, and then another 6 times.

It is now officially All My Fault

temp · 07/01/2008 17:25

Shurrup NAB

Only real reason I'm asking is that, a couple of weeks ago, (going to be more TMI here because hey, am hiding!).. for the first time ages DH actually... did what they do... in the place that they do it.. normally IYSWIM!!! (We are usually more creative than that since the babymaking years!) And these are NOT babymaking years.. oh no!! Not us! For various reasons that would be apparent if I wasn't hiding..

Oh GOD Serenity don't! How long ago did her DH get snipped?

This isn't what the online stats indicate you know!!!

Bigfathairyones · 07/01/2008 17:27

temp - I had a chemical pg this month and the vasectomy was almost 3 yrs ago! (there's a thread on it) Marie Stopes have quoted 1 in 100 at us - that's pretty high!! (and agree with NAB3 - I've always known somehow that it would be me too!) We now have to decide whether to have another snip, use other 'forms' or go for the 4th child and be done with it. DH samples will let us know how 'reversed' it is - he now calls himself 'supersperm' though so I think he's secretly quite proud!!

Bigfathairyones · 07/01/2008 17:30

temp - I guessed because of the sore boobs and slight nausea....have fun testing!!!

temp · 07/01/2008 17:32

What actually is a chemical pregnancy? Is it technically a miscarriage?

(Sorry)

Crikey.. that's alarming. We can't have another one. But equally I coouldn't terminate. I don't think I could do it. DH could I'm sure.

Course, i won't need to worry about this. Will I?

OP posts:
temp · 07/01/2008 17:33

So you actually tested positive?!

I'm not testing! I have not bought a pg test in YEARS! Would be a terrible waste of money. It'd for negative for sure

Unfitmother · 07/01/2008 17:33

Wish I hadn't read this! DH had snip 5 years ago, haven't thought about it since.

makingnosense · 07/01/2008 17:35

Well, after reading this thread, when this baby of mine is born we were thinking of hubby getting the snip, but I think I'll go back on the pill!

temp · 07/01/2008 17:35

AND BFHO sorry, testing wouldn't be fun. Not at all
