..The stats online are reassuring; I just wanted to check that there are no real people (ie Mners!) who have info to the contrary!

If you are really concerned and your period is late, do a test. It will tell you one way or another and then you can deal with the result.

serenity · 07/01/2008 17:38

It'll be probably 6 years now - was done when she got pg with her (former) youngest.

Actually it really freaked her out for a while, she kept dreaming that it wasn't his, and was seriously trying to figure out if there was anytime she could have been slipped something and had sex without realising it. Once her hormones calmed down and she did some research and saw how common it actually is she felt considerably better (although still completely about it, this is her DC4)

Bigfathairyones · 07/01/2008 17:38

Hi - yes, it's where the egg fertilises (hence symptoms) but doesn't implant so the bfp disappears and you get a very heavy period. I honestly don't know if you need to worry - you can get your dh retested with Marie Stopes whenever you want (for a £10) - just ring them up and go for it - they send you two pots for a 14 day apart, 2 'turn' test. If you're due your af I would test and set your mind at rest (or not!) I wish you the result you want. P.S. I felt the same as you before the bfp, but since then I'm honestly not sure how I feel about another one - you may not feel as bad as you think.

temp · 07/01/2008 17:41

Not even sure if I'm actually late. Just that last night I had what I thought was me coming on.. is THAT was implantation bleeding looks like? I never had it in my other pregnancies..

I cannot have another child. I have several children including a severely disabled one. hence vasectomy.

I'm sure it's ok though

don't know about vasectomy but I do know someone who got pregnant after she was sterilized, ... ... with swins .

wannaBe · 07/01/2008 17:44

twins even.

Bigfathairyones · 07/01/2008 17:48

PLease don;t tell me that - I was considering that as the v didn't work the first time round!

Ellbell · 07/01/2008 17:48

Have you tested yet?

Ellbell · 07/01/2008 17:49

Am loving this thread, btw, as dh should be getting 'done' this month, but I'd love another baby, so am hoping it doesn't work in his case!

temp · 07/01/2008 17:50

More TMI but I had some thickish, white non smelly vaginal discharge (ugh sorry) a week or so ago.. thought it was going to develop into thrush. That not a sign of.. anything is it? God I'm not used to these. I don't DO these "looking for signs" threads. And I'll probably come on later.

I'm not reading this anymore. I'm still enjoying post-vasectomy freedom

temp · 07/01/2008 17:51

You wouldn't love it half as much if you know who was posting Ellbell . Not that I need to worry I'm sure. I jsut started thread to reassure myself and got the opposite!!!!

OP posts:
Bigfathairyones · 07/01/2008 17:51

Ellbell - I have to point out that I'm the only one for whom this hasn't worked out of many, many friends/family who have had it done.....and hence back to 'sods law' - I always knew it would happen to me!

Bigfathairyones · 07/01/2008 17:53

Temp - have you name changed too?! I have as I have a rl friend on here.

LoveAngel · 07/01/2008 17:53

My aunty conceived 4 years after her husband had the snip. And, yes, the child is definitely his! She was 40 and already had 5 kids, so not best pleased at first , but warmed to the idea eventually. She told me she insisted on using contraception after that little slip up, right up until 2 years after her menopause!

temp · 07/01/2008 17:54

Yes! I would not post a query like this under my usual name! Even though it's only a query.

Ellbell · 07/01/2008 17:56

Oh, I recognised you straightaway, temp... even before the obvious clue! I should add that I'm only loving it because it's giving me just a wincy bit of hope that dh's vasectomy might not work , not enjoying your discomfiture at all.

Ellbell · 07/01/2008 17:58

Btw, sometimes my periods go a bit odd - starting and stopping and that kind of thing. Mind you, could be my very advanced age in my case .

temp · 07/01/2008 18:00

Oh! Do you recongise me under all the names I post under?????! I am amused depsite myself!

I am of course worrying over nothing. Well I wasn't really worrying at all until all these FAILED VASECTOMY stories arose from the woodwork

DH'll never GET the vasectomy with you having a attidtude like THAT Ellbell.. you'll never get thro the counselling!!

(HOW did you know it was me.. before the "clue")??

OP posts:
temp · 07/01/2008 18:05

And no I HAVENT tested!! Just saw you asked me that! Why would I have pg tests lying around???! This is me... I am YEARS PAST ALL THAT!

Am starting to lol at myself now.. of COURSE I cannot be pregnant. I'll come on in a minute.. I know it. Then come and tell you all! God, I've been drinking like a fish all Christmas!! And eating pate and bree or however you spell it! SO THERE!!

OP posts:
Ellbell · 07/01/2008 18:09

No... don't worry... this is the only time I've recognised you under a different name and I only clicked on the thread because I've been thinking about vasectomies rather a lot recently !

I can't say I knew it was you, exactly, but I did wonder. But I do know rather a lot about your dh's vasectomy remember (... boy, I really hope I am right about who you are... otherwise you really are going to think I am a weirdy stalker and I'll be run out of town!) and the timing (of the vasectomy) seemed right.

Dh has been sent a number to ring to book his, and they didn't want to talk to me at all. He'd have had it done before Christmas only they only offered him one day for it with two different times, both in the early evening when I couldn't have taken him in and picked him up afterwards... so he's still trying to book it. (This whole 'book your own operation' system seems very odd to me!)

Hope you come on soon. You know you will. Your body is just playing tricks on you.

temp · 07/01/2008 18:14

Yes it's definitely me. [snigger] I didn't actually email the polaroids of his bollox-the-size-of-rugby -balls did I?!

It's not that I post stuff under other names very much OR that it's stuff I wouldn't want you persoanlly to know... i was just surprised that you recognised me apparently without any identifying details! LOL.. oh the joys of having a a RL MNing friend...

And REALLY re you DH??! I thought you HAD to have the counselling, private snip or NHS! They will prob call you in once he's booked it..

Bigfathairyones · 07/01/2008 18:18

We had counselling.........lady asked dh 'do you want the snip'....he said 'yes'!!

filthymindedvixen · 07/01/2008 18:27

My dh had the snip 5 years ago. Last year I had a couple of weeks where I felt slightly nauseous, tender boobs and a late period. It was such a wierd combintion of fear and secret elation...then AF arrived DH was chuffed at the thought he might have supersperm but there was no disguising the utter relief he displayed when AF arrived...
