Hi guys!
I hope you can help me a bit to survive next couple of weeks before I will fully loose my sanity....

I am 32yrs old, I have two healthy sons - 10yrs old and 3yrs old.
Between them I had 4 MC on a early stage 4-6weeks.

Now I am pregnant again, today it should be 10w5d ....

This pregnancy started with spotting, bleeding and clotting so I had already 2 early scans ( 6weeks and 7weeks) and 1 private scan at 8weeks. All of them showed healthy bean with a heartbeat etc.
No explanation for bleeding.
I am on progesterone support.

And now- last 4 days I am with covid, there's some bacterial infection in my urine track....

And I don't feel pregnant at all....
My back hurt sometimes, feel weird hot sensation in my belly....
My belly is flat ( beside of extreme bloating due to progesterone), my pregnancy symptoms almost completely vanished.... and I feel so empty inside my womb....
My 12 weeks scan is in 10 days.
I am so scared.
I am almost sure once I will lay down they will tell me that my bean's heartbeat stopped around 9-10 week .....

I don't know how To manage my anxiety....

@arshenick90 hope you are okay! I am going through a similar situation. You feel like you just can't enjoy your pregnancy, it's awful I know. If your scans showed a healthy heartbeat, you need to go with that, I know it's difficult.
I started bleeding last week at 10weeks 6days, I was convinced that was it but my emergency scan showed a very active healthy baby. I was so happy but just can't shake that feeling that something will go wrong. 1 out of 5 women bleed during in pregnancy many for reasons unknown. I have my dating scan on the Friday. I feel it's going to be the longest 5 days ever.
You are not on your own. Can I ask have you had anymore bleeding since your last scan?
Here if you need to chat, try not to worry xx

My last scan at 8w1d - the one that I did private- was make exactly 3 hours after I had a massive bleeding that resolved with passing quite big clot.

After that I didn't had even one day of bleeding or spotting, I think I had some kind of hematoma that firstly was leaking- and therefore I had spotting and bleeding- and later on it detached from my uterus hence clots...

I can't shake this horrible feeling that all my bacterial and viral infections that I am going trough as we speak could effect my bean and stop his/her heart...
And today I feel this uncomfortable pressure in my low part of my back too... almost like period like .... I hate not knowing.

You poor thing. This is the time the placenta is taking over and baby is officially becoming a fetus, so maybe this is why you are feeling the way you are feeling today.
If you are really concerned give your midwife or EPU a call tomorrow. Try and concentrate on the little milestones, take it day by day xx

Thank you hun for such a kind words x I did had a chat with my MW today as she called to let me k is that one of the samples of my blood have been seal wrongly and due to that I need to have my blood test redone. Unfortunately I stuck at home with covid so no way of going anywhere until I will get two negative test. All they can do is say "oh dear..." and tell me to stay positive as there's literally nothing else they will do. I don't think they would send me for another scan 10 days before 12 weeks scan, I am guessing is still to early to look out for baby heartbeat with feral Doppler , so I just need to suck it up and wait.... and this is the hardest thing to do .... night is the worse- I am awake for 2-3 hours each night and just can't stop thinking about how empty I feel in my womb, I can stretch and move and do everything and I don't feel ANYTHING.... so horrible and depressing feeling.

@arshenick90 Sorry you're going through this, it is a horrible feeling. I hope all will be ok for you and your little bean.

Most women won't agree with this but I'm 10w 3days and I have a home Doppler and I've been using it the last few days and I managed to find babies heartbeat no problem. So it might be worth a shot. This is baby number 3 and I've always found the heartbeat around 10 weeks on the Doppler.

Oh darling, the worse part is - I have home Doppler too, and I doesn't catch baby heartbeat at all, not even the slightest, not even once.... if I could just heart it once I would believe again.... but each time I've tried to find it and failed - just makes me feel even more convinced about my doubts 😓

@arshenick90 Oh no :( Can I ask where about you're placing the Doppler? I'm so sorry that you've got Covid and you can't just go and get a scan to reassure you.

I hope everything will be ok, dopplers aren't always right either and plenty of people struggle to find babies heartbeat with them. So try to stay positive, I know that's hard right now. Thanks

I am always starting right above my pubic bone in the middle and working my way on both sides of the pubic bone slooooowly, trying to push it slightly so it would have a chance to catch any sound from u see the pubic bone...

Yeah.
There's just too many things that makes me loose any faith in a happy ending this time .... 😓

Sorry OP, you must be feeling exhausted. Once you start iron supplements hopefully that will boost your energy a bit more.

Keeping everything crossed for you that once you can get your little bean checked out all is ok xx

arshenick90 · 29/03/2022 09:26

Any here we go- another day that I have started with a feral Doppler hoping to hear baby's heart.
Fail.
Today I am 11+0

8 days to go....

Honestly - this is why they advise against home dopplers, they're not that accurate especially this early on and just cause a lot of stress.

It's very usual at this stage to start feeling 'better' because as others have said the placenta takes over. Between 11 weeks and 20 weeks I had no symptoms of pregnancy at all.

Not even any feeling regarding your muscles stretching to make space for your growing baby? Fully flat belly, no visible sign of being pregnant too? I am 32yrs old after 2 pregnancies with quite big bellies and it's just unusual for me to not showing AT all on this stage....

Ha I wish I'd had a flat belly in the first place!

Yes, this was my third, I was 39. I did suddenly pop about around 14 weeks I think but I didn't have any other physical symptoms. I think it's a really odd time, to be honest. I think I fretted until I had another appointment at 16 weeks.

Tinadecember · 29/03/2022 11:00

Hi OP, I have rented a fetal doppler, can I ask which model you are using? Only asking as I have had a variation in the past and some are more sensitive than others.

For reassurance, I began using around the 10 week mark and I have had really great days where I can find the heartbeat easily and then awful days where I haven't found the heartbeat for 2 days consecutively so have ended up booking a private scan only for everything to be okay.

If I can give advice, you really will need to apply some pressure at 11 weeks in order to find it as the baby is still very small and nestled right in there. I can sometimes be searching for 20 minutes to find my LO and I am 16 weeks.

They really can be the devil but at the same time a massive reassurance.

I have every faith that your baby is fine :)

Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I did put the pressure, I was checking on a full bladder, first thing in the morning, sometimes for 20 mins or more, searching patiently everywhere around pubic bone .... I have a home-use Fetal Doppler, something my husband bought me 4 years ago with my youngest son.

In each of my pregnancies I was showing from 10-12weeks but from 8weeks I could easily say that I feel massive difference in my womb... ow it's just feeling empty and quiet...

If I was you op I'd booked myself in for a private scan if you can afford it. Not worth sitting days on end wondering. The feral doppler is notorious for making pregnant women more anxious as the heartbeat can't always be found easily. My midwife also told me that even if you can find a heartbeat, it's not the only factor to take into account when checking if baby is ok so in that sense, it can be a false reassurance (I.e you can find a heartbeat today but that doesn't mean baby will be alive tomorrow. Sorry, not trying to make you feel worse... I think a scan would put you at ease).

wishuponastar1988 · 29/03/2022 11:58

Try not to stress. My midwife took a while to find my baby's heartbeat with a Doppler at 16 weeks and she said they actually only use them now from 25 weeks. She listened in early as I was anxious. If you can then book a scan for reassurance x

It's all just so so odd for me.

My body is hypersensitive for everything that is happening to me, every muscle stretching, every little discomfort I could feel it all way much faster than usual person, my MW said to me in my last pregnancy that I have ultra sensitive nerves and I can catch lots when others won't feel a thing.

During my whole life I could say if something is happening inside my body, infection, anything, before there was any obvious symptoms .... I Knew i am pregnant day after my missed period because I could feel it...

And no, since I finished 9weeks 2days I don't feel a thing....

Now 11+0 and I am more worried than ever ....

I have been tested positive for covid, I can't get any private scan until this Sunday so practically until next Monday. And my 12weeks scan is next Wednesday so I don't think two days will do the difference on this point .... I wish I could go even today but I am testing myself every day and for now test coming back positive over and over again, today is my day six since I have been tested positive for covid for the first time ...

@arshenick90 oh sorry, I did read that you had Covid but lingered on the bit after about your bacterial infection in your urinary track - I'm recovering from an UTI too and it's awful. Sorry to hear you have this on top of COVID and pregnancy worries. Indeed not much you can do then until next week. If you're off work (which I hope you are!), try taking your mind of it all with a nice film and your favourite food.

I have no taste or smell so good is not really comforting now 😭 I am "working" for my husband, customer contact / office work for his freshly opened company. Not really a lot to do, so I am trying to keep myself busy with hose cleaning, kids and some rerun on favourites tv shows .... but it's not working well .

I posted a thread recently about being well in to my second trimester and losing symptoms and was reassured by lots of comments saying that it was normal in their case. Unfortunately in my case it was not good news, and it went undiscovered for many more weeks. I don't want to cause any panic - in the majority of cases it is normal and just the placenta taking over. However I would contact the EPU and get it checked. I wish I had a lot sooner, nothing could of been different for my baby boy, but atleast I wouldn't of had the trauma of finding out so late that he was gone.
