I've started bleeding, 10weeks on Tuesday.
I don't know what to do,
I've not passed any clots and it's only when I wipe.
Are epus open on a weekend If not what should I do... xx

It probably varies depending on your area, can you phone and ask them? Fingers crossed for you OP

Luckytobeamummy · 25/03/2022 19:13

Yes there will be a number on your maternity notes, always someone to call so hopefully you can get seen - remember some women do have bleeds so try not to panic - easier said than done I know
Have you had any early scans at all?x

Hi Strawberrysummer19. I haven't been for a early scan yet but I booked a private one for Tuesday. I've had 9 miscarriage before and I'm sure it's gonna end the same.. one good thing tho I have no pains yet.. xx

@Luckytobeamummy oh I see - maybe call the hospital switchboard and see if they have a epu I think that's what I would do

Hoping for a positive outcome for you xx

www.sath.nhs.uk/wards-services/az-services/maternity/early-pregnancy-assessment-service-epas/

Their phone number is at the bottom of this page but it doesn’t say if they’re open or not. If you can’t self refer maybe you’d be able to get an appointment by phoning 111?

Luckytobeamummy · 25/03/2022 21:33

Thank you all xx

When this happened to me on a weekend, I went to A&E (London). I live close to a huge main hospital though, and they have a massive specialist maternity wing attached to the main hospital.

Unfortunately my situation didn't end happily, however between A&E and EPU, the care I got was first class.

Wishing you all the best Thanks

I was able to get through today, so looks like I'm waiting it out till Monday still bleeding but don't have painful cramps. I hate going to the toilet... is there anything positive stories that can come from this.. I've miscarried so many times now and I really don't want it to happen again! All my previous mc's happened before 8 weeks, and started off with brown blood to eventually red (and I bled for a week before anything passed) but this time it's just red blood but only when I wipe, I'm so scared but putting on a brave face for my family. I don't no what to do for the best. I don't even want to move off the sofa! Sad I wanted one more baby for finally complete our family, but I'm starting to think I won't be having another one ... sorry for the long message, I'm a bit of a mess today xxx

I had a huge bleed at 10 weeks. Went to a and e and finally had scan a few days later. All was well and no reason found for the bleed. Have been put on bed rest though. Take it as easy as you possibly can and try and stay calm - I know it’s so hard. x

Kaw10 · 26/03/2022 16:32

@Luckytobeamummy if you've had so many early miscarriages, are you on progesterone and aspirin?

Luckytobeamummy · 26/03/2022 16:56

I've lost all hope nowadays.
I've got 4 kids so trying to bed rest isn't really an option to me, (husband works away alot)

Nope not on any medication, was supposed to of gone over everything on my first midwifes appointment which got cancelled on me!
Sad

Sorry to hear that @Luckytobeamummy and sending positivity your way, some women do bleed and everything turns out fine hopefully it is the same for you xx

Luckytobeamummy · 26/03/2022 17:41

Thank you so much, I keep hiding upstairs away from the kids for a little cry . This would be the furthest I've been, all the others happend before or just after 8 weeks. I should be around 10 weeks on Tues.
I've just passed 2 tiny clots so it's not looking good. Sad

imamumgetmeoutofhere · 26/03/2022 18:01

Could you call 111 and see if your local A&E could scan you. Keeping everything crossed for you OP x

Luckytobeamummy · 26/03/2022 18:15

My local hospitals a&e don't have the scanning facilities on a weekend. Last year when it happend to me on a weekend all they did was do a pregnancy test to confirm I was pregnant and then told me to call epu Monday morning. My local hospital is rubbish! So I'm gonna have to stick it out. Xxx

OP posts:
imamumgetmeoutofhere · 26/03/2022 18:37

That's really poor. All A&E departments should have a scanning department. What if someone came in with suspected ectopic pregnancy or similar?

Still keeping everything crossed for you

Amijustagrump · 26/03/2022 18:52

I had a bleed at 10 weeks and again at 16 (this was a huge one). Both times I went to a&e and got scanned, currently hugging my 10 week old. Fingers crossed for you Flowers

Luckytobeamummy · 26/03/2022 19:06

Like I said my hospital is utterly useless..!
@Amijustagrump I'm not that hopeful anymore, but congratulations to you Flowers

OP posts:
Amijustagrump · 26/03/2022 19:13

All the best, I hope Monday is a positive day for you Flowers my bleed ended up being placenta detachment which was very touch and go, but somehow all is okay

Luckytobeamummy · 26/03/2022 20:31

Thank you so much for your positivity, I will do my best to calm down and let nature take its course.
The bleeding seems to be heavy at time then light the next.. I've not passed any more clots so I'm clutching straws here. Xxx
