I wouldn't go for a diminutive on the birth registration, fine to do that in the family but an adult may want a more adult name so Izzy would be Isobel etc - I speak as someone who worked with a woman who had a diminutive as a name and when she was called to the bar she changed her name to the full version -

Noah. I love Noah but it sounds terrible with our surname! I'm not a fan of Honey. Well I do like it in porridge, but not as a name, all the others on your list are cute.

I know how you feel, I really like Ottillie but it sounds ridiculous with our last name which isn’t actually Dooley 😄
