11 weeks pregnant and bleeding

Hi I'm 11 weeks pregnant today. Yesterday was the worst day of my life. Started bleeding quite a lot. I was convinced I had lost the baby. I text my midwife who got me booked in for a emergency scan straight away. Had the scan and the baby is okay! Moving around a lot! So happy! The only thing is I am still bleeding, not as much as yesterday though. I am still quite worried but the doctor didn't seem overly concerned and has put me on bed rest for 2 weeks. Has anyone else been in a similar situation and what was the outcome? X

I had bleeding for a fair few weeks. It was red with clots then turned pink, red and brown. I last had a scan at 12wks 3days and all was still looking well thankfully. I'm still anxious about it as I keep reminding myself that just because all looked well at the scan, it doesn't guarantee that all will stay well. All the signs so far have point towards things being ok & so despite my anxiety, I'm trying to stay positive. They still don't know the reason for the bleeding. I hope you and your little one stay safe during your pregnancy and beyond x

Have far along are you now? When are you due? I don't know about you but I'm reluctant to tell anyone about my pregnancy now after what has happened. They don't know the reason for my bleeding either. I think its more common than we realise. I hope you and baby are okay. I'm here if you need to chat x

Thank you! I'm only 13 weeks today. I'm just trying to hold on to mini milestones like the fact that by the end of this week I'll be hitting my 2nd trimester, then 2 weeks after that I will be able to have my gender scan. It's good that the docs have put you on bed rest. I've not had anything like that but when the bleeding first started I was prescribed progesterone in a foreign hospital as I was abroad at the time. Is your bleeding still quite constant or only there when you wipe? Likewise, if you ever want to chat... I'm always here! X

I have read that it can happen when the placenta is starting to take over which is at the end of the first trimester. Please let me know how your gender scan goes! It so exciting but so scary. This is my second pregnancy, I had nothing like this with my first. The bleeding was quite bad yesterday I could feel it coming out but not as bad today just when I wipe. How about you? x

I bled quite a bit between 9 and 12 weeks - thought i was miscarrying with all 3 of my babies. But all was OK and i had 3 healthy boys at full term. Good luck and please don;t worry if the scan was ok x

Hey, just wanted to say I hope you’re ok, I know how scary this can be . I bled heavily with my first baby, from 7 weeks until 18 weeks on and off. Every time I bled I thought I had lost him but every scan proved me wrong. It doesn’t always mean miscarriage, in my case I had a severe ectropion on my cervix which was causing me to bleed. It is fairly common, but maybe not of the size I had. Don’t lose hope, take mini milestones . My baby boy was born healthy and happy at nearly 38 weeks

So happy all your babies are okay! I seem to be seeing a pattern with the boys! My grandma and auntie both bled a lot and they were boys. I have my dating scan next week on April 1st of all days x

Hi @Greedy7, I hope you’re doing okay. I know this is scary. I had a huge red bleed the Sunday before last and was convinced it had to be over. I went to a and e and had internal exam - cervix closed. They called it a threatened miscarriage and I was also put on bed rest. They couldn’t scan me until last weds, I was so scared those few days. Scan showed baby measuring 10 weeks and heartbeat. I just had another scan today and measuring 10+6 (now torturing myself a bit that baby has fallen behind - but I know measurements are tricky this early). Do you have a follow up scan booked? I really hope bleed stops for you and that all continues to be well xx I also have my dating scan on 1st April!

I had fresh bleeding at 13 weeks which turned out to be a Hematoma. Hope you are ok - take it easy, drink lots of water and rest!! x

Don't panic. I had constant bleeding from 6 weeks till around 13 weeks. I'm now 28 weeks. Happened in two of my pregnancies. All the best 💕

@HopingForRainbow2021 I hope you are okay! It's so scary. It seems we are as far along as each other. I was told yesterday that I was 10weeks 6 days, so officially 11 weeks today. I thought I was a few more days along than that. Due around the 12th October. I just have my dating scan next week. I just seem to have some spotting now I hope it stays that way. How is your bleeding now, has it calmed down?

For me it's mainly when wiping. I've had fresh blood again this evening after had brown over the last few days. The epau told me to give them a call if it carried on for a further 7 days so I'm going to call in the morning and see what they say. They might just get me back in for another scan or tell me to keep an eye on it again. I'll let you know how I get on X

@Greedy7 mine hasn’t come back since Friday, so really hoping that’s a positive sign and all will be well. According to LMP my EDD is 12th October too. I’m glad to hear that yours is slowing now. Feel like next Friday is going to be a long time coming!xx

So happy for you!! Can’t believe we are due on the same day. What number baby is it for you? Please let me know how you’re scan goes. I managed to get a photo the other day when I had my emergency scan. It was so overwhelming xx

It’s so amazing to see them isn’t it! This is baby number 2 for me, with two losses in between. My little boy will be 6 in May. It’s been quite a journey over the past few years 5 unsuccessful IVF cycles last year just to name part of it. So have been struggling to believe things will be okay to be honest. Just keep trying to tell myself all will be well. What number baby for you?xx

Hello!

I called the EPAU and they weren't answering so left a voicemail for them to call me back. They haven't yet and they closed at 6 so I'm not sure. When I was miscarrying previously the A&E simply referred me to the EPAU and told them to give me a call for the next day so it seems a bit pointless going there this evening. The bleeding has gone back to brown but it's thick and stringy. Sorry for the TMI. How are you? Xx

@handbagsandholidays how are you feeling? I can't believe they haven't rang you back. I really hope everything is okay. Are you going to go to the hospital tomorrow? Don't be sorry, I don't mind. I'm okay thank you. Still bleeding a bit but it has turn pinkish so hopefully that's a good sign xx

I'm 15 weeks and I had some brown bleeding at the start of the week that lasted 2 days. I was booked in for a scan at EPU where the sonographer found that I have a hematoma (a bad bruising basically) just above the baby. They said they think this is where the bleeding was coming from. Baby was absolutely fine and moving about lots in the scan though so they said not to worry and they've check it again at my 20 week scan.

Try not to worry too much, I convinced myself the pregnancy was over and was so relieved when I saw the baby was okay in the scan. Hope everything goes well for you x

@Greedy7 how are you doing today? I meant to ask, when they said 2 weeks bed rest did they say that they would re assess after two weeks? I’m feeling a bit stuck because I wasnt given any idea of how long to stay on bed rest for. It’ll be two weeks on Sunday. I don’t have a midwife yet to ask and have no idea who else to ask xx

@HopingForRainbow2021 I'm very good today thank you. Bleeding has stopped finally! How are you today? No, they didn't, I think because I have my dating scan on the 1st April anyways. Just see how you feel, take it day by day. Maybe keep taking it easy until your scan xx

I bled lots with my first pregnancy. Really take the bed rest seriously while you recover. Glad things are better today
