@Capricorn8990 glad all was okay! Love that they kicked the doppler 😂

My baby has been really active the past couple of days but I haven’t felt her as much today, but I’m having to talk my head out of worrying as I’m only 21+5 with an anterior placenta 🙈

DrPrincessFluffyToYou · 22/03/2022 21:32

Anyone else started leaking colostrum? Just a few drops (but multiple times!) in the past day or so! I'm only 23 weeks so thought I had at least until the 3rd trimester before this started...!

Lianna93 · 22/03/2022 22:00

@DrPrincessFluffyToYou I've been leaking it for a few weeks but would never had noticed if I didn't have my nipples pierced 🙈 Thought they had gotten infected when I first discovered it but definitely not infected 😂
We start producing it from 16 weeks :)

My bump feels particularly sore and achey today - know it's probably ligament pain but I take it it's normal ? Feels like my womb is aching like a dull ache x

SamanthaVimes · 23/03/2022 06:54

@strawberrysummer19 sounds normal to me. I get that feeling sometimes, I think it’s when baby/bump has a bit of a growth spurt and everything has to stretch a bit quickly.

strawberrysummer19 · 23/03/2022 07:49

@SamanthaVimes oh good was a bit worried yesterday as it was quite achey.
I've had it before but not as bad
Today I've woken up and it's back to normal so that's good x

strawberrysummer19 · 23/03/2022 09:40

Can anyone tell me if the baby shows are worth going?

We were booked for the excel one but I got covid days before and couldn't go - was gutted as lost our ticket entry.

The only other ones before baby arrives are Birmingham (4hrs away so would need a hotel overnight and child care)

The other is Surrey baby and toddler show 1hr 30 away so not hotel but on a weekend where we are busy so would mean going on the Sunday and being a bit pushed

So my thoughts are - is the hassle worth it?

OH wants to have a look at the prams in real life although we have seen one we like in smyths

2nd baby so have an idea what we want / don't want etc but it was 11 yrs ago and lots of new things on the market !! And would be lovely to go for a look around

Thanks everyone advice welcome xx

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 23/03/2022 10:46

Oooh I was wondering that @strawberrysummer19, we’ve been given some tickets to the Surrey show in April, just not sure whether it’s worth the drive!, or whether it’s just a bit flat uninspiring

Mattieandmummy · 23/03/2022 10:47

If you are in East London, the John Lewis at Westfield in Stratford has quite a few buggies, car seats etc you can have a play with.

Mattieandmummy · 23/03/2022 10:48

Sorry forgot to tag you @strawberrysummer19

Echo this - we went to the High Wycombe one and they had staff there who can talk you through prams/car seats etc. we didn’t bother with a baby event - did a mixture of own research / second hand buying / John Lewis. The events just felt like to me that they were pushing unnecessary purchases.
paintfairy · 23/03/2022 12:54

@strawberrysummer19 yeah to me- its like wedding fayres. A whole lot of expensive stuff you don't need. 🤣 There's loads of info online now and YouTube reviews and demos. And there are shops you can go to where they'll talk you through things if you need info. John Lewis is one, mamas and papas is another. We went to M&P to look at prams and they were useful. I then went off and bought one second hand. 🤣

Enjoying reading through everyones experience and happy to report a similar experience! The night time cramps that make me jump out of bed and oooh and ah silently 😂 our mid-prepared nursery that still needs a carpet and gloss paint (which i will be doing!) and bed issues.
Im planning to try and breastfeed, as our bedroom is so small im hoping a moses basket will do us the first couple of months, im planning to get up with baby and slink through to the nursery to feed/ change, although reading everyone elses stories maybe i should try and set up changing space im our room!
Im 22 weeks at the moment and experiencing some stomach cramping, usually short lived and I am really fatigued, slept for nearly 12 hours yesterday!! Has anyone else experienced this?
Also baby is getting more active and its so reassuring 🥰 have you guys started speaking to bump yet? I feel like i just say hi to it several times a day 😂😂😂

Coco9910 · 23/03/2022 17:43

@strawberrysummer19 I went to the baby show in Manchester this weekend and it was good, but I don’t know whether it would be worth the travel to Birmingham. We went mainly to look at prams and ended up ordering ours there, but the other stuff was just nice to look at. We did end up paying for a newborn shoot as it was £45 with a free maternity or milestone shoot, but I’m sure they will get our money when it comes to paying for the prints 😅 someone said in another thread that at the Sunday afternoon baby shows, they discount and sell the display stock for a lot cheaper, so maybe that one will be worth going to!

strawberrysummer19 · 23/03/2022 19:03

I like the sounds of the Sundays deals!
Thinking about it I'll probably leave it
It's 4hrs, hotel and time and fuel like you've all said mamas and papas, John Lewis is a good idea and we are only 45mins on a train from Stratford and an hour from lakeside which my friend says has a m&p so think we will just do a couple of days out

Xx

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 24/03/2022 03:14

Another question I’m afraid for the 2nd time or higher mums in the group!

Nursing / rocking / any kind of chair in nursery… how needed is it? Suddenly having one of my 3am panics that I’ll have no where to sit down in the nursery when I have to go see to a wailing baby at 2am / 3am / 4am etc… Grin

Currently, plan is:

Cotbed, wardrobe, changing table (in reality a kallax unit with a slimline changing mat on top), some shelves and maybe a little chest of drawers if we still need more storage etc.
Room could probably take a small chair of some kind but not one of these fancy (but gorgeous) looking wingbacked velvet armchairs plus footstool I’ve been staring at… Grin

DayToNight · 24/03/2022 06:23

@HotToddyColdSauvignon

We had a rocking chair but we ended up cosleeping and the chair became a clothes dump.

SamanthaVimes · 24/03/2022 07:18

@HotToddyColdSauvignon we were exactly the same as @DayToNight

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 24/03/2022 07:21

Hmmm that’s the worry…. Just another surface to clutter

Mattieandmummy · 24/03/2022 08:24

I wouldn't bother with a rocking chair personally. We ended up co-sleeping too or walking/dancing around to get number one to sleep...

Purple1181 · 24/03/2022 14:55

@HotToddyColdSauvignon I personally used mine loads - my little girl fed in the night for 12 months although I did master feeding her lying down for a while. And then when she moved to her room I fed her or read to her in the chair until we moved when she was 2 and I couldn’t fit it in her room.

Nothing fancy though, mine was just a cheap ikea one I got second hand

Purple1181 · 24/03/2022 14:56

I’ve also never used a wardrobe for my little one. But that might be just because I’m too lazy to iron or clothes …

Purple1181 · 24/03/2022 14:58

*hang clothes

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 24/03/2022 15:06

Thanks @Purple1181

Gah, why haven’t I won the lottery so I can have a three roomed suite for the baby and just buy everything “in case” we need it Grin

strawberrysummer19 · 24/03/2022 19:14

Does anyone find baby favours one side ?
I seem to only feel movement low down to my left? Is this normal? 22+2 have anterior placenta
Really feel movement after worrying not being able to feel much by 20wks but she's really getting more active and my daughter and fiancé can feel them now which is nice x
