I am currently 38+5 with my first and I am just curious really when your first finally got here!

Everyone keeps telling me, 'oh its your first, she will be really late', but just wondering how true that actually is?!

Been having the odd BH's and backache since about 37 and a half weeks, but other than that no signs so far! Baby has been 3/5 engaged since about week 35, and was still the same at my 38 week tuesday just gone.

Congratulations op! What an exciting and apprehensive time! Enjoy the time that you have before your precious baby is born. I remember the couple of weeks before feeling like it would never happen 😅 for me it was 40+4. I had two sweeps and was put on a oxytocin drip. I really regret letting them intervene. It wasnt presented to me as if I had a choice, more like "We are going to do this now, okay?" and I foolishly hadn't done my research assuming that the midwives would just know what was best for me. They say that your body will naturally start pushing and you'll know when to do it, but my daughter was obviously not ready as I never felt that natural urge to push. Instead I just pushed for 2 hours when the midwives told me to, I ended up needing an episiotomy and they were preparing me for a c-section. I then read afterwards that this is all quite common when the baby isn't quite ready to come and you try to force with the inducing. If I ever have another one I would definitely insist on allowing the baby to come when ready unless there was a medical need to intervene

All, and I mean all, the women in my family have early babies circa 37-38 weeks. Dating back over 100 years. Based on my scan DS was born late 40+8. Based on LMP I went into labour on my due date and DS was born 1 day late. What can I say, I bucked the trend.

She arrived 36+0, waters broke at 35+2. A bit of a shock as I thought all first babies were late too!

Labour started naturally, baby born 40+6, one day before I was due to be induced. 32 hour labour Shock.

Can't say I felt any different until contractions started. Had a sweep at 40 weeks. Lost a bit of the mucous plug but didn't seem to do much else.
