Congratulations @Twinkles18!!! What lovely news. Hope you and baby are doing well. How are you feeling? It's so exciting hearing about all these babies arriving.

I'm 38 weeks today and have my midwife appointment later. No signs of anything happening, so think it will be a couple more weeks for me.

Catconfusion · 16/03/2022 10:56

Congratulations @Twinkles18 such amazing news for you. Glad they picked up on the growth slowing and got her out. Enjoy the newborn snuggles! Xx

Dyra · 16/03/2022 11:11

Oh wow! Another baby!!! 😍 Huge congratulations @Twinkles18! Sounds your body was very ready for baby to come. Glad they picked up the growth issues. How heavy was she? Will you be home later today?

Thanks everyone!
Feeling surprisingly good @easybreezy586 hopefully your little baby is with you safe and sound soon and it doesn't drag!
@Dyra my body was scarily ready lol she weighed 5lbs 13 and is a little chunk! Yes getting home at lunch, how is your recovery going?

bubblybrit · 16/03/2022 14:19

Lovely news @Twinkles18. So pleased that you and baby are well. Hope you get home soon for lovely newborn cuddles x

Dyra · 16/03/2022 14:46

Awww. Wee chunky squish. I hope you're home and eating your body weight in all the things you wanted to eat, but couldn't, while you were pregnant. Recovery is going excellent tyvm. Things are slightly more sore today, but nothing ibuprofen, sitting on the sofa binging Grey's Anatomy while getting in some skin to skin isn't solving. Life is good.

easybreezy586 · 17/03/2022 08:19

Yes think there are lots of us still waiting!! Could be a couple more weeks for me I think.

PinkCheetah · 17/03/2022 08:27

37 weeks tomorrow! I just want her here now. Congrats to everyone who had their babies

Scoaf · 17/03/2022 09:47

Yes im still waiting. 1 week today until my section.
Starting to get a bit nervous 😬
Good luck everyone.

bubblybrit · 17/03/2022 10:13

I’m 38 weeks today. Got a midwife appointment later this afternoon so hoping they book a week for around 39 weeks. Seemed to do the trick with DD. Had a sweep on the Sunday and she was born 48 hours later.

Really fed up now so can’t wait until the little one arrives 🥰 x

bubblybrit · 17/03/2022 10:14

That should say sweep - doh!

easybreezy586 · 17/03/2022 10:34

I had my 38 week appointment yesterday and don't have another one booked in until my due date now. Midwife said we could discuss a sweep then, not sure if I'll bother though because I had a few with my last baby and they did nothing!

A two week wait for me too 😬

Derbee · 17/03/2022 12:30

I’m 38+5, still waiting. Would love to be early though, and avoid an induction (booked for 1st April).

MiracleBaby2022 · 17/03/2022 13:04

We are finally home after the longest 11 day ordeal in hospital!

I’ve missed a lot of what’s been happening on here, but just wanted to say a big congratulations to all those who've now given birth - hope you’re enjoying your little munchkins as much as I am!

💕

Catconfusion · 17/03/2022 15:08

@Scoaf me too, just had my preop. I can’t believe she’ll be here in a weeks time. We’re excited yet a little anxious. It’s my second section so hoping it’ll go as well as my first one.

How are you feeling? Xx

Catconfusion · 17/03/2022 15:08

@MiracleBaby2022 I’m so pleased to see you’re finally home. Enjoy your squishy newborn cuddles! Xx

Scoaf · 17/03/2022 15:16

@Catconfusion
Oh at least you know what to expect, fingers crossed for a speedy recovery for you.

I dont have my pre-op until Tuesday, this is my 1st baby so feeling pretty anxious about what will happen to be honest. Xx

Catconfusion · 17/03/2022 21:13

@Scoaf I completely understand. I had my first baby by elective two years ago during the first lockdown. It was overall such a lovely experience. My son was a big baby and I have arthritis so it felt the safest option. The only slight issue I had was my blood pressure went very low. I have quite low blood pressure anyway. I had a good chat with the doctor today and there are measures they can take to prevent it going so low. I wasn’t sick or anything but felt a bit out of it. I’m not particularly worried about it.

If you have any questions let me know. I went through some of the risks today at my appointment and they are so incredibly low. I’m sure you’ll be fine. It’s won’t be long and your baby will be with you. Xx

Scoaf · 17/03/2022 21:37

@Catconfusion
Ah thankyou so much.
Im a bit worried about my stay in hospital as the rules where i am is that my husband will have to leave at 7pm. Do the midwives help you out with the baby?
Thats good that you have had a chance to discuss your concerns and they have reassured you.
My baby is measuring big, ive now got Gestational Diabetes, GBS and an autoimmune disease, i was starting to get really anxious about the baby being big and possibly getting bigger due to the GD so they suggested inducing me this week but i read too many things online about really strong contractions after induction and then worried baby would get stuck so we agreed a Section would be the best option. Its so surreal having an actual date. Do you have any tips at all? Xx

Dyra · 17/03/2022 21:46

@Scoaf Very natural to be anxious. I echo Catconfusion. If we can help in any way, please don't be afraid to ask any questions here or via DM.

@Scoaf Absolutely the midwifes and support workers will come and help you should you use your call bell. Someone always came within a few minutes. However, you may find that after only a few hours, you'll be able to do it by yourself anyway.
