Didn't quite realise we were so close to the end of the second one. Blush So let's have another one! Grin I'll post the due date list in a moment.

@onedream Exactly, you don’t need that. It’s a difficult decision to come to anyway without healthcare professions using scare tactics. I’ve done a lot of research and I’m happy it’s a safe procedure. I just got my letter through for the 24th March. It’s like a massive weight has been lifted. I’m struggling with my mobility so I’m pleased I have a date to aim for.

Anyone else having a section on the 24th March? Xx

Dyra · 04/03/2022 16:22

@Pac35 Oh no! Naughty baby! Have you been given an elective section date, or will you be attempting a vaginal breech birth? Wishing you all the luck that baby turns on their own.

Thank you so very, very much for linking those guidelines for me. I'd only looked at the PDF RCOG guidelines, which does say that pre-eclampsia is a contraindication, so far. But you're absolutely right! It doesn't say anything specifically about pre-eclampsia being a contraindication for ECV anywhere in the patient info. Angry I get that breech + pre-eclampsia is probably a very uncommon combination to have, but it'll hardly be unheard of..... Unfortunately I think the doctors consider pre-eclampsia to be under "placental concerns". To be fair that also isn't on that list since it only mentions invasive/blocking placenta issues. The consultant I talked to earlier seemed sure it's the risk of placental abruption they're concerned about, since pre-eclampsia is linked to placental malfunction. Luckily for me, the consultant I'm seeing tomorrow is one of the authors of said guidelines and he can clarify it for me. At least I can see now why the doctors I saw earlier in the week might not have known.

@Catconfusion Yay! More dates! How very exciting. 19 days to go. I hope they pass by quickly and painlessly for you

@Dyra ah sorry you've not had the news you were hoping for.
I hope your chat goes well tomorrow and you can make a plan you are happy with.
@Catconfusion thankyou, ironically ive been having growth scans as they suspected i would have a low birth weight baby but its looking like the opposite... haha. Ive got to laugh about it now so i dont cry.
I can see my dreams of a water birth slipping away, im consultant led due to an autoimmune disease, i also have GBS so need IV antibiotics in labour, and if they induce me that might be another IV. Plus i dont know if it turns out i have GD that would prevent the waterbirth.
These babas are keeping us all on our toes already.

BostonFern · 04/03/2022 19:11

Thank you @bubblybrit and @onedream.

Dyra · 05/03/2022 13:12

BABY TURNED!!!

So, so happy. So incredibly relieved. No idea when it happened. Even if baby hadn't gone head down, the consultant had all but said he would allow the ECV as well. But as of this morning this absolute hellion of a foetus beloved child is cephalic. Induction in a few days. Can't go home in the meantime, and birth plan has gone out of the window, but I honestly don't care.

@Scoaf Hope your fasting test goes well today. I completely get what you mean about having to laugh or otherwise cry. It's so hard having to let go of your wants and expectations. It really is all going to be fine. ❤️💛💙 Virtual hugs.

@BostonFern Hope you and baby are doing well. 🥰 Hoping the jaundice is clearing up now. How's your eldest finding it all?

@Dyra
Amazing News... made up for you. Well done little one.
I think i just feel in limbo with not knowing what the plan is. I have got my next scan appointment through the post today and its 22nd March, 6 days before my dute date so im a bit worried if baby is big then they will definitely be huge by then and its a bit late in the day to do something.
I think im just feeling anxious about everything atm.

MiracleBaby2022 · 05/03/2022 15:17

@Dyra oh that's wonderful news!! 🤎

MiracleBaby2022 · 05/03/2022 15:27

I had my 36 week scan yesterday (I'm 36+4) and although baby is still cephalic she's also still back to back. So I'm now doing lots of exercises to try and make her turn but I have no idea if it'll work until they give me my last scan just before I go in for induction. Baby is also quite big at just under 3kg - and although overall she's only 56% her head is 76% and her abdomen is 86%, so I'm a bit scared especially with my left hip that's almost worn out. No idea how that'll work with the bone against bone pain 🤔 😬 Anyway, they've given me a preliminary date of 25th for the induction although they can't book it in until 1 week before. At least I'm finally starting to recover from the kidney infection now - so will hopefully be in better form for the birth.

Derbee · 06/03/2022 02:27

I had my final growth scan on Friday, at 36+6. Baby is head down, and estimated at 7lb 4oz currently. Because of my (very well controlled) GD, they have booked my induction at 40+6 for 1st April. Hoping I have the baby before that, due date 26th March.

I’m thinking I might refuse induction closer to the time, but I felt under a bit of pressure to get the date booked, with the consultant.

Exciting that it’s baby month, and one is already here!

bubblybrit · 06/03/2022 20:18

@Dyra. Thank you. I’m a little apprehensive as if it doesn’t lower then I’ll likely be induced which is something I really don’t want! Great news to hear that your little one has turned 😀!

@Catconfusion. I hope everything is ok. Consultant didn’t seem concerned but it’s always at the back of your mind. Oh the 24th isn’t far away at all….I’ve packed my hospital bag etc but still feel completely unprepared. I’m also a little worried about childcare for my toddler…especially as I had such a quick labour with her!

Dyra · 07/03/2022 13:33

Here we go again..... It's induction day! Very last minute. It was scheduled yesterday, but thanks to the nightmare of an afternoon the midwives had yesterday I wasn't told until last night when I asked about it. And wasn't 100% confirmed until this morning, as nobody had access to the diary overnight. Already had an examination to see if balloon or stretch and sweep. Turns out neither as baby is too high (for balloon) and cervix is too closed (for stretch and sweep). So I've had a dose of gel instead. They'll re-examine in 6 or so hours and either have another dose or stretch and sweep. Then it should just be a waiting game until there's space on delivery suite. Assuming nothing else happens first.

@dyra just want to say good luck for today. I hope baby comes nice and quick for you! Xx

onedream · 07/03/2022 14:15

@Dyra good luck, fingers crossed for quick and safe delivery xx

Catconfusion · 07/03/2022 14:23

Hey @bubblybrit all is ok thank you. I have a consultant appointment tomorrow and a placenta blood flow scan. Just hoping baby is in a better position so I don’t have to be admitted.

I hope all goes well with childcare arrangements you can access quickly. It’s so hard to judge it. I can imagine if you’ve had a quick labour before timing is everything. Xx

Cxjai792 · 07/03/2022 14:25

@Dyra good luck! Hopefully a nice quick delivery xx

Caass45 · 07/03/2022 14:33

@Dyra good luck today hopefully you'll have your little baby with you in no time 🥰

easybreezy586 · 07/03/2022 14:45

Good luck @Dyra hope the induction is successful!! Xxx

Scoaf · 07/03/2022 14:52

@Dyra oh wow... Good Luck. 💙💗 X

Scoaf · 07/03/2022 14:55

So i went for my GD test yesterday- which i was told was just fasting bloods no need for the drink... turns out that you only have the fasting bloods test after 37 weeks and becasue i was 36+6 i had to have the drink 🙈
So hospital have just phoned. My fasting bloods were fine but my bloods after the glucose drink were slightly elevated. So i have to go and see the diabetic midwife tomorrow and see what she says 🤷‍♀️ feeling even more confused now.

Catconfusion · 07/03/2022 15:39

@Scoaf how strange you weren’t told that. I just had the blood test at 35 plus 6 and didn’t need the drink. I was told the blood test becomes inaccurate after 36 weeks so might be why you had the drink. Although I was told if it wasn’t done before 36 weeks I’d need to use a glucose monitor for a week instead 🤷🏻‍♀️. Anyway hopefully it’s mild enough to not make much of a difference. Xx

Derbee · 07/03/2022 16:47

@Scoaf do you know what your levels were after the drink? I was told it needed to be under 7.8. My result was 7.8 so I was diagnosed with GD, and have been monitoring my blood glucose 4x a day since 30 weeks.

Presumably if your results are only slightly elevated, it’ll be easy to manage yourself, without needing extra care/medication.

The only thing that’s changed for me, due to the GTT is they want to induce me at 40+6 rather than 40+10 like everybody else.

Dyra · 07/03/2022 17:58

Thanks everyone. Nothing much happened so far. Though when I went for a walk I got a lot of cramping and left sided pain. So much so that I had to turn back. All calmed down now, but it gives me hope that something might happen tonight. Will walk laps of the ward tonight and see if I can get myself a ball to bounce on.

Dyra · 07/03/2022 18:32

Best of luck for tomorrow @Catconfusion What would happen if you were admitted ? Would they bring your C-section forward? Hopefully it won't come to that either way.

@bubblybrit Hope your scan goes well this week, and you find childcare quickly. Worst comes to the worst, just get yourself to hospital with your toddler in tow. Many's the time I've seen some of our admin team look after littles when their new sibling decided not to hang around.

@Scoaf Don't blame you for being confused! Hope the diabetic midwife will clear things up for you.

@Derbee Oooh. Everything crossed you go naturally before 1st April! C'mon March babies!

Scoaf · 07/03/2022 18:55

@Catconfusion well thats even more confusing isnt it 🙈 she said the diabetic midwife may just want me to monitor for 7days but not sure 🤷‍♀️
