I am trying to eat fairly ok but not sure I eat enough veg!
I had porridge made with full fat milk and two cups of normal tea this am then later a banana
Lunch was mozzarella , fresh tomato and mashed potato with peas
A cup of green tea (Can’t resist hot drinks but normally I’d have coffee too)
Supper was roast beef and potato again (forgot other veg) then half a pot of butterscotch icecream!
Then an oatcake and butter.

I do include nuts usually too and fish twice a week and hope this is reasonably ok. I’ve just remembered we have mince pies left though! I get quite drawn to sweet stuff

Just to add - the chilli I make myself so its all fresh ingredients packed full of veg.

My diet definitely isn't perfect but I try the 70/30 approach 😊

Horrendous reflux (hernia plus 27 weeks pregnant, not fun). Never usually have breakfast anyway:

12:00: couscous, roasted veg, blob hummus and a marmite crumpet because I was craving it. Couscous was half a pack of the just-add-water Mediterranean stuff so could have been healthier!
2 squares 90% choc and a chocolate coin.

4ish: another crumpet and one of the kids’ discarded potato waffles Blush

Now: higgidy cauliflower cheese pie with salad on the side - leaves, cucumber, sun dried tomatoes, pepper, parmesan, sweetcorn, dressing.

Shouldn’t really be having this dinner as will deffo regret it. I had porridge for dinner a few nights in a row (oats, blueberries, water, almond butter, total heaven) and zero acid reflux, was amazing.

I’m 9 weeks pregnant so in the middle of sickness and massive food aversions so I’ve eaten absolutely terribly but it’s either this (which I’m mainly just picking at) or not eat at all
I usually eat a very healthy balanced diet with more protein and less beige carb based but 🤷‍♀️

Breakfast- cup of black tea and 1/2 a honeydew melon
Snack- red grapes and 2 baby bel
Lunch- jacket potato with butter and cheese
Dinner- cheese and tomato toastie, other half of the honeydew melon.
Evening snack- some starburst sweets Blush

WakeUpLockie · 06/01/2022 19:34

Lunch was mozzarella , fresh tomato and mashed potato with peas

Please elaborate on this because it sounds incredible but I can’t picture it. All melted together?? Or all separate?

Wildrobin · 06/01/2022 19:46

Wakeuplockie that made me smile as I am such a bad cook I’m rather honoured it sounded ok!! No it was just quite random and assembled together, I threw Asda mash in the oven with frozen peas mixed in and then threw some mozzarella and fresh tomatoes and olive oil and basil next to it with black pepper on.

This list just makes me want to eat more, I think I’ve gone a bit food obsessed with pregnancy and normally I’m a very moderate eater. It’s made me want a Babybel and all sorts of other things !!

I meant only the mash and peas went in the oven - possibly a mistake as yes mozzarella on top might have been nice

I’m impressed at how little everyone else eats…

I’m 15 weeks and my appetite is basically gone and I’m still feeling sick but I’m still eating a lot more than you lot 😂

Today
Breakfast: a fried egg, beans, spinach, mushrooms, a veggie sausage, 1/2 slice of toast

Lunch: tiny portion of spag Bol (was still full from breakfast)

Dinner: veggie pasta with homemade rocket and walnut pesto. A posh little cake from a patisserie that wasn’t mine 😬

Snacks: a banana

I lost 5kg in first trimester. Pretty sure I’ve recuperated it now!

Glitterbug86 · 06/01/2022 20:10

Breakfast: shredded wheat with blueberries, pecans, maple syrup and almond milk. Coffee

Scirocco · 06/01/2022 22:13

Wow, everyone's being so healthy!

Breakfast for me was a bowl of cereal with semi-skimmed milk, which kept me feeling full until this evening...

Dinner was Garlic Aloo Zameen (potatoes and mushrooms in a creamy sauce) with rice, which was delicious but I couldn't finish it.

I think I'm now at the stage where there's no more room inside me for things like normal amounts of food...

Wildrobin · 07/01/2022 00:53

What stage are you at Scirocco? I do remember getting so uncomfy towards the end but my last pregnancy was over 10 years ago!
Are you all still taking a pregnancy vitamin? I take one mostly every other day now as can’t decide if it’s too much . Days I don’t I take vitamin D and choline

Elle234 · 07/01/2022 18:57

Breakfast - cornflakes
Lunch - cheese salad wrap
Snack- orange
Dinner- chicken pasta bake

Nothing special lol

Wildrobin · 07/01/2022 19:09

Gosh that looks quite modest!
today I had two scrambled eggs on toast then a banana for breakfast
Half a Sainsburies salmon quiche with lots of ratatouille for lunch (making more effort with my veg now)
A mince Pie
A pear
Danish pastry and cashew nuts
Parma ham
And now making chickpea and carrot fritters with cabbage

I also drinks gallons and gallons of water as seem permanently excessively thirsty, I am wondering about getting this checked !

I feel like my stomach has shrunk from the morning sickness . I’ve only just come out of it the last couple of weeks. For the first 3 months I was eating portion sizes to feed a bird 😂

WorryMcGee · 07/01/2022 19:30

I don’t think I’m eating enough fruit and veg either, it worries me that I’m only getting 1/2 portions - usually at dinner. I was never like this before! But I just don’t fancy any veg at all, I don’t know why. Even avocados which were my absolute favourite pre-pregnancy turn my stomach :-( I’m not eating particularly badly I don’t think, just not as well as I used to…24 weeks now and feeling like I should have got over this by now?

Elle234 · 07/01/2022 19:36

@WorryMcGee. Doesn’t the baby take the nutrients from you and the food you eat is to replenish it for yourself ?

Wildrobin · 07/01/2022 19:38

WorryMcGee I’m 24 weeks too. Have you tried different veg or fruit to see if it helps? I ate half a small watermelon last night!! I do find I’m not drawn to some things the way I would be normally but also I’m really lazy about veg as find them boring to cook and eat so today started to put more effort in! (Hence a ratatouille but it took ages and wasn’t that amazing!)
@WorryMcGee. Doesn’t the baby take the nutrients from you and the food you eat is to replenish it for yourself ?
So I’m told but it doesn’t stop me worrying! I’m good at finding things to worry about!

Elle234 · 07/01/2022 19:40

@WorryMcGee I’m sure the baby is fine 😉

Elle234 · 07/01/2022 19:41

If babies were that fragile the world wouldn’t be so overpopulated . This is what I tell myself when I have anxieties, and believe me I’ve had plenty 👍🏻

WorryMcGee · 07/01/2022 19:42

@Wildrobin a 24 week buddy! We do Gousto (I pick them, husband cooks them 😂) so dinner always has at least one portion in it, it’s the rest of the day when I’m left to my own devices where I’m not making brilliant choices 🤦🏼‍♀️ BUT you saying watermelon has made me really fancy some watermelon!!! I might need to pop to a shop…

Wildrobin · 07/01/2022 19:42

I think it’s worth still trying as babies might take the nutrients they need to some degree but for example apparently over 80 % of us are deficient in choline which isn’t usually included in multivitamins and a nutrient discovered only relatively recently . And both babies and pregnant women have a high demand for it (It helps towards cognitive health and this can apparently last years with improved memory. I don’t know why it isn’t mentioned in the news more either with all the talk of Alzheimer’s as studies have shown it to help).
My diet isn’t always ideal but I try and have some nutrient dense things like eggs every day to make up for the rest!
