Can cats sense you're pregnant?

Our one little girl cat in particular has taken to lying on bump, which we think is sweet. In general the others are more clingy as well. Just wondered if anyone noticed their cats being more loving / protective during pregnancy?

I think our cat senses something. She’s way more meowy than normal and very insistent on sitting on my lap. She’s also brought home two mice in the last week.

Thought I’d pay some cat tax as this is what I experience every time I sit on the sofa recently 😂. Can’t sit down without our cat wanting to sleep on me.
I’m only 9+5, so wonder if this will continue as I get a bump.

Yea pets can sense it.. there was a cat at one house i worked (housekeeping) and he was always grumpy, the momwnt i got pg (he knew i was pg before i did ), was super nice to me and clingy..and our dog at home was protective wouldnt let anyone touch me and again super nice to me 🙂

Both times my boy cat has known I’m pregnant before I did. It’s only after testing I realised why he was suddenly being nice to me!

My friends pet iguana was super clingy when she was pregnant which was a sight to see

One colleague guessed I was pregnant at about ten weeks because a cat gave it away. We were on a work trip having dinner on a restaurant terrace. A local stray came round looking for scraps. He showed no interest in anyone else but sniffed me and jumped up onto my lap. It was a giveaway apparently!

My cat has been sitting on my bump nightly! She also keeps me company on the shower mat while I’m showering - she thinks she’s protecting me while I am vulnerable 🥲 definitely noticed a lot more affectionate behaviour since pregnancy

One of mine did - his (new) obsession with my stomach that was one of the reasons I suspected I was pregnant before I even found out that I was!
