Hello,

Just found out we are pregnant after 13 months of trying - based on last period will be due august 19th.

Any others with similar time like to join to support one another?

@Factualmistakes

6+3 today and woke up to dark brown in my panty liner (worn because of progesterone pessaries). I had a slight bleed 8 days ago so maybe this is just old blood still making its way out? It is so hard not to worry. I've had a bad cough the past few days (not covid) and I keep worrying it will harm the baby. I don't want to call my IVF clinic because I feel like it isn't important but they must get this all the time with worried patients.

So glad to see everyone's scans went well. I have another 10 days to wait for mine. Feels like an age.

Ahhh I'm sure if it's brown - then you don't need to worry, as it's older and may have been sitting a while.
CoalCraft · 31/12/2021 11:25

Feeling rotten today, probably because of covid boosters yesterday. Feel cold and shivery and sweaty and all muscles feel like jelly, and on top of that the nausea was really bad this morning.

DH is looking after DD but I feel bad just leaving them to it alone so I'm curled up on the sofa watching them play.

StayWeird · 31/12/2021 11:43

Morning all, happy NYE!

@Pearldrops04 I'm 6+1 and don't have many symptoms either, my boobs are a bit sore and I've had a couple of dizzy spells and a teeny bit of nausea but nothing much really. With my two previous pregnancies, morning sickness didn't kick in until I was in the 6th week, around 6 and a half weeks and I had hardly any sickness with my youngest so I think that is perfectly normal for some of us. And some people have no symptoms at all! Hope all goes well on Monday x

@CoalCraft hope you can get plenty of rest today and feel better soon!

@Factualmistakes brown blood is blood that has oxygenated so is more likely to be old blood. No harm in phoning the IVF clinic if you are worried to put your mind at rest though x

Congrats on the 3+ weeks @surprised12 !

rosesarereddish · 31/12/2021 12:45

Been away for a while - hope everyone is doing well Thanks

I had my booking in this morning with the midwife, I'm only 6+4 so was quite surprised to have it so quickly but all done now. Saying scan booked for 8th Feb. I'm thinking about a private early scan but not sure, last time I had lots of scans before 12 weeks through the NHS due to issues and found it never settled my nerves for long. I kind of want to do this pregnancy differently and be calm. I'm already tempted though so we will see Grin

Hope you all had a good Xmas and have a good NYE, I've got covid and still feeling rubbish so no fun here Grin

Dating scan**

Dormouse76 · 31/12/2021 15:53

Think I’m out. Did a test today after very light pale pink spotting and it came out negative. Clinic says to test again in the morning but looks like I’ve miscarried at 6 weeks 😢

Roeslein · 31/12/2021 16:45

7 weeks today and early scan due next week. A little worried about starting work again as I have not been feeling great. Also realised at 6 weeks that I had not been especially careful about CMV (this is a second pregnancy, I have a 3yo DC) so worried about that as I know a couple whose second child was disabled due to CMV. My son is in preschool and they all wear masks / wash hands a lot so hopefully it will be ok...

SantiagoSister · 31/12/2021 16:55

Sorry to hear that @Dormouse76, I can’t imagine how worrying that must be for you 😖 I hope everything turns out ok for you, have you googled the hook effect on pregnancy tests? Sometimes they say your urine after 5-6 weeks gestation can have too much HCG in it and it can overwhelm a pregnancy test. You could try diluting your urine sample and hopefully you may still have a positive 🤞🏼

SantiagoSister · 31/12/2021 16:58

@Roeslein I’m with you on the worry about CMV. I am shocked at how little is known about it considering how common it is. I’ve been trying to careful, washing hands a lot while around my toddler nephew, I guess that’s all we can do.

madeleine85 · 31/12/2021 17:23

@Roeslein I have never heard of this! Is it just like a common cold that can then affect your baby? I swear between covid and everything else, i'm going to be fully in a bubble for 9 months. I say that knowing my 2 year old is in daycare and is a tiny little vector for every sickness going around.

@Dormouse76 I really hope you are ok, that is very stressful and I am so sorry if it is a loss. Sending big hugs your way x

Alexandra191619 · 31/12/2021 17:59

Also due 19th august! I have 2 older children I had very young so this third wasn’t part of my big plan but here we are! Excited to add to the brood. Feeling so sick which I did with my last 2 both turned out girls! How is everyone else feeling? Has anyone told family/friends the news yet? X

CoalCraft · 31/12/2021 18:43

@madeleine85

CMV is a common viral infection that most people catch in early childhood. However if you don't happen to catch it as a child, then later encounter it while pregnant, it can pass to the baby and cause issues with brain development.

My DD was tested for it at birth because her head measured small compared with her weight, but she was all clear (seems to just have a smallish head 🤷 )

PopGoesBang · 31/12/2021 19:23

Sorry you are going through this @Dormouse76. It is all such a worry.

I was saying today I'd love to be a person who could say they sailed through pregnancy with no sickness and no worry about anything.

Had to make contact with the GP again today as the nausea and sickness was awful over night. I'm now taking a combination of tablets. Touch wood, I've just had my first meal in weeks where I haven't battled to eat and don't feel like I'll be parting ways with it. Not a bad end to the year!

Hope everyone has a lovely evening whatever you are doing - happy new year!

PopGoesBang · 31/12/2021 19:26

@Alexandra191619 I've had to tell my 8 year old as couldn't keep hiding the sickness. Just after finding out I also caught covid and she was so worried it was a new symptom and something was going to happen - not ideal but felt it better than her worrying.
Have also told my parents, just so I have some people I can be honest with about how I'm feeling!!

Haven't told anyone else - but have a feeling that may change once DD is back to school... we'll see!

LiMc1 · 31/12/2021 21:42

I'm due 14th August with my first and LOTS of nausea. 🤢 my mum reckons I'm having a girl because of it. 😂 I did tell close family over Christmas, I don't know how people keep it to themselves!!

I'm back to work next week (as a teacher) and so nervous because of Covid 😬.

Happy new year all future mummies to be ❤

mamaof2girls · 31/12/2021 21:59

Has everyone started there vitamins and what ones yous taking? We haven't told anyone in the family yet am hoping to go for private scan when am around 9/10 weeks as did with my other 2 then tell people. Not had any bleeding since the other day so feeling positive on that so fingers crossed! X

Alexandra191619 · 31/12/2021 22:17

@PopGoesBang oh no! I hope you get better soon! I also told very close family just so it can feel real! It’s my OH first so telling his family was exciting but telling mine I was on my 3 baby was more shock than anything ha x

Alexandra191619 · 31/12/2021 22:19

@LiMc1 I have 3 girls and was ridiculously nauseous with both. No boys to compare but my nephew and godson didn’t make my sister or best friend sick once so there’s deffo a case there! I think girl for me too based on how sick I am x

Alexandra191619 · 31/12/2021 22:20

@LiMc1 2 girls not 3!! Already predicting it 😂

beckybloomwood11 · 31/12/2021 22:30

I feel nauseous in the mornings, but fine once I've eaten something. Apart from that main symptoms for me are sore boobs and tiredness! 7 + 1 with my first, though I suspect I ovulated late so should really be 6 weeks.

We told our parents / siblings over Christmas - it would have been waaaay to suspicious with not drinking and we would want support from close family if anything goes wrong.

Happy New Year everyone when it comes!

mamaof2girls · 31/12/2021 22:57
@LiMc1 2 girls not 3!! Already predicting it 😂
I have 2 girls aswell and this is my 3rd (not going to find out the gender) my girls are 3 and 1 and a half! X

CoalCraft · 01/01/2022 06:58

Happy New year everyone!

I didn't feel sick at all really in my first pregnancy (girl) but do have a bit of nausea now... I don't think it tells you much about the sec though; I'm pretty sure testosterone production and all that hasn't started yet?

Feel better today thank goodness. "Vaccinitis" really floored me yesterday.

Factualmistakes · 01/01/2022 10:34

I'm still bleeding and still in pain. Had some clots too. My local EPAS have told me to take a test tomorrow morning and if it is still positive then I have a scan booked for Monday afternoon. However I'm not feeling remotely hopeful. Happy New Year to me!
