Me too @Minster2012, and of course I chose a positive donor! The anti-D injection is not as bad as I’d been told, promise!

Crazydoglady123 · 09/12/2021 20:12

@DKDK123 I think for me that'd be more stressful being kept in! All day Tuesday when I was in hospital DS was calling and messaging me every 5 mins asking when I'd be home 😬 He's honestly the biggest mummy's boy! I think I've been quite lucky as I've only had the one bleed with clots that night.

@Minster2012 that sounds sooo relaxing! I would say movements help but then like me I get anxious when she's quiet 😅 You can't win! Due date is 20th Jan.

Thanks @Lexber @Kate105 @bez91 ❤️

Scan was fine. All blood flows in the umbilical cord and placenta was fine. No bleeding round the placenta and fluid normal so she's fine and no signs as to where the blood came from with regards to her so I do feel more reassured now. They estimated she's 5lb10oz now too and lots of hair! Doctor on DAU had to review my scan, just got to get to the bottom of the urine samples now 🤞

Minster2012 · 09/12/2021 21:11

So pleased the scan confirmed everything is ok @Crazydoglady123 & I thought that about the movements, good but bad 🙈

@Sunbird24 what's one more large stingy needle eh?!

Juno231 · 10/12/2021 07:55

@Crazydoglady123 any updates? Big hugs as this must be scary!

4+4 today and literally just hoping to make it to Monday so I'm out of CP territory.

feliznavidad2 · 10/12/2021 08:21

Glad your scan was ok @Crazydoglady123 x

Nearly there @Juno231 Monday will come around quick.

Quiet but here ladies, 9 weeks and feeling so blimmin' constipated and nauseous still... Private scan (I booked pre-spotting early on) on Monday which hopefully will be reassuring. OH can't come to 12 week one (no childcare for nearly 5 year old) so will be nice for him to see.

feliznavidad2 · 10/12/2021 08:22

Already looking like this 😒

Juno231 · 10/12/2021 08:43

@feliznavidad2 hahaha my boobs will def be looking like that soon 😆. Fingers crossed for Monday's scan!

Minster2012 · 10/12/2021 09:41

@feliznavidad2 sorry you are still feeling rubbish, I look and feel like that 😂

@Juno231 🤞🏻🤞🏻you will make it all the way Monday is nothing

I'm listening to Christmas songs whilst dog walking before a hr call. We should be off today but work crisis put pay to that. Humph. Woke up with terrible backache & a headache, I might need to get a pillow for sleeping

Any recommendations?

Juno231 · 10/12/2021 09:46

@Minster2012 everyone I know raves about bbhugme... It's pricey new but can get it less than half price on FB marketplace or ebay. Tbh that's the one I've set my sights on as it really is meant to be great. I think there was a pregnancy pillow thread on here this week and it featured a lot on there as well. I'll get the link so you can see what else people were saying.

Lexber · 10/12/2021 09:56

Hahaha thats me!! I've been wfh brakes that long that when I leave the house and put one on it's so uncomfy and I'm spilling out of it! So bought some maternity ones from Primark yesterday and they're so comfy !!

I woke at 1.30am absolutely starving I sat half a sleep eating a banana 🍌 but then woke this morning hungry but feeling sick 🤷🏽‍♀️ so can't eat - drank a pint of milk instead but feeling ropey and tired. Looking forward to getting back in my own bed soon...!!

I've been using my pregnancy pillow for a couple of weeks now and it's an actual god send!! It's so comfy and honestly I could t be without it - it's so comfortable and evenly packed so even when I lay on the same bits it doesn't squash - OH got it me as I wasn't sleeping very well and using about a thousand cushions and pillows - including several to prop me up to stop me feeling sick/heartburn. Now I just use this and my usual pillow as I wrap it under my head too and it helps that also. Not the cheapest but definitely very good quality and worth it!!

@Crazydoglady123 that's great that the scans were all looking good and you're getting to stay at home. 5lb 10 is a great weight just now even if they did need to deliver early so that must be very reassuring, tho by the sounds of it she's getting to stay and fatten up even more before her eviction 😊

@feliznavidad2 not long till your scan, that's good that your DH will get to this one, I understand that they don't want lots of kids running about scans but they need to realise that not everyone has childcare and it's a shame partners need to miss out because of it. I think they should have one slot a week for those that don't have childcare to be able to attend.

@Minster2012 if you don't want to go full scale pregnancy pillow yet, a normal pillow between your legs helps do your hips/pelvis wonders. I use this pregnancy pillow, it's not one of the amazing expensive ones but it does the job as a cheaper version and doesn't take up as much space.

@lexber I sleep with a banana and a cereal bar beside my bed for when I wake up starving in the middle of the night

whatwonder · 10/12/2021 11:24

hey everyone, wow lots of chat going on!

@Crazydoglady123 how are you doing? great that you're able to go home. Hopefully bub stays nice and cosy in your belly for a bit longer. But as others mentioned, 5lb10 is a great weight to be at! My niece was 6lb at full term.

@DKDK123 how are you getting on? feeling a bit better after your appointment?

@Minster2012 that spa day sounds lush! I've had a really sore back/neck lately, so was thinking I might treat myself to a massage. this has inspired me... what do you need to do with the Rh negative? Is it just one injection, or multiple? And I am also contemplating getting a pregnancy pillow. My friend recommended one she got on amazon. It looks massive but she said it's made such a huge difference

@Juno231 only a few days to go, you've got this!

@feliznavidad2 exciting that you've got your scan soon! has your sickness/heartburn gotten worse?

@Lexber I thought of you yesterday, had my 'earlybird' appointment - a group zoom call with a midwife, nutritionist and physiotherapist to go over various bits of information around supporting healthy pregnancies. Tbh it was mostly extremely painful and unhelpful and I felt like I was back at school. They mentioned heartburn and the nutritionist said to drink milk to alleviate it. But of course, it being London, most of the people on the call were quick to say "what about plant based alternatives??!" which I found amusing Grin

Another thing that came up on the call yesterday is that we won't get to see the labour ward/birth centre until we're actually in labour. I assumed we'd get to see it at some point before (most appointments are in a separate ward). Is this normal??

Kate105 · 10/12/2021 11:52

We got a YouTube video tour of the labour ward @whatwonder I think that’s pretty much the norm post covid 🙄

2020mission · 10/12/2021 11:53

@whatwonder I'm at 37 weeks and haven't seen the labour wards or anything. Definitely don't seem to be willing to allow that. It's annoying as it would be good to get an idea of what it's like especially as a FTM.

@Juno231 I feel you, I was eyeing that probability of miscarriage chart almost daily for the early weeks 😬 . You're definitely in a much better position once passing 5-6 weeks! I'm sure you'll be fine though as your tests have been progressing well.

Am I the only person who never got a pregnancy pillow? 😅 I have had to use a cushion between my knees in late pregnancy though as otherwise I wake up with my outer hips sore. Have never felt like I needed a big pillow. I'd have missed the spooning with DH if I got one haha

Lexber · 10/12/2021 12:55

I usually do @DKDK123 but I'm on the sofa still so kitchen to hand for middle of the night snacks 🤣

@whatwonder years ago pre covid you had. Stout but I assume because of everything they've stopped them which is a shame as it gave you a chance to see the place and ask questions too.
I drank 2 pints of milk last night before bed and another this morning - the twins are loving their milk already 🤣🤣🤣

@2020mission I never had one with my previous 2, and wasn't planning with this pregnancy but the speedy growth and lack of comfort I think OH felt guilty for doing it to me 🤣 plus I'm nicer now I sleep better... so he did it for himself... 😉

bez91 · 10/12/2021 15:25

@whatwonder oooh I'm not sure on visiting the birthing centre. I didn't with DD and that was pre covid, didn't really bother me. I am a bit too black and white and thought they'd come out where they came out 😆

Keep wondering about a pregnancy pillow too, I haven't needed one yet. I had one before just a cheap £20ish one and that was great. I think the reality is you're pregnant and comfortable is just not something you're going to be for 9 months 😆

whatwonder · 10/12/2021 15:37

@bez91 tbh I'm not too fussed either way if it's labour ward or birth centre but would like to see what they look like before it's go time! especially because the layout at my hospital is actually quite confusing so don't love the idea of not knowing where to go when I'm in the throes of labour :/

DH has said "well can't we just have a snoop around next time we have to go to the hospital for a WM appointment" lol, preetttyyy sure we'd get kicked out, babe.

Minster2012 · 10/12/2021 15:51

@whatwonder loving your DH's attitude though, you could "get lost" so to speak! Def have a pregnancy /soa thing, I'm gonna have more massages from her it was AMAZING. The rhesus negative is a big ouch injection at 28 weeks then I think another one after birth?

Thanks for the suggestions on the pillow, I think I'll leave something HUGE like that one @Lexber and @Juno231 suggested til a bit later! At the minute it's how to stop my back hurting? Does that get helped by a pillow in the knees @2020mission / @DKDK123 or just the hips? It's like I need to be laid on my side vertically straight up if that makes sense and not have my knee in 90 degrees out so I'm leaving forwards but still on my side (does that make any sense???) as that's how I'm lying and getting a bad back from it

Juno231 · 10/12/2021 15:59

@Minster2012 sounds like you'd need pregnancy pillow parallel to your body to lean on to without having to have your knees at a 90 degree angle? Perfect for the bbhugme 😅

The bonus with mine is that it doubles up as a nursing pillow I think and you can tie it around your waist for the baby to sit on so you don't do that hip jutty out thing when you carry the baby which really messes with back and hips. I swear I'm not getting commission though!

gcat16 · 10/12/2021 16:24

Hey ladies, please can I join this thread? I've been too nervous to join in so far! Just had my 12 week scan though and all is looking good so think I'm willing to take the plunge 🥰 still doesn't feel quite real after two losses this year 🌈

Minster2012 · 10/12/2021 17:48

@Juno231 I tell you now you'll do the hip kitty thing NO MATTER what you do or get! It continues til they are school age 🤪

Kate105 · 10/12/2021 19:45

I never got a pregnancy pillow @2020mission I just slept with a V pillow between my legs and supporting my back... Did the job! Like other people have said, there's a certain point where you're just too pregnant to be comfortable, regardless of pillows 😂

Kate105 · 10/12/2021 19:46

OH has his Christmas party tonight so I'm loving life! Sleep demon is in bed, wine is poured, bath is running and then I'm going to have a really early night! Rock and roll 😂

Minster2012 · 10/12/2021 21:35

Enjoy @Kate105 that was exactly what I did the other night! (I bet your wine has more alcohol though!)

Welcome @gcat16 and fantastic news on your scan! Another 3rd time lucky 🌈
